What I’d like to see more than 4 customization slots is the ability to tie certain player perk builds to a customization slot. So if you have a plasma weapon/perk equipped and want to switch to a bolt weapon, you don’t have a dead perk.
Finally lenses customization, can finally make proper Blood Angels. No offense to the dev team but I feel like lense customization should've been in the game since it first came out.
I'm glad they're finally adding it, but at the same time I don't feel it should be held and released with the Dark Angels Chapter Pack. If it's ready right now like they said then they should release it for the playerbase instead of waiting a full month

I'm really hoping it gives assault a way to deal with Zoanthropes. Everything else? Thunder hammer to the face. But the floaty bois are a pain to deal with.

Honestly, I think neo volkite is going to be a game changer for assault! At the moment you have all the tools you could ever need for minoris, majoris, and even most extremis, but the instant a zoanthrope or a neurothrope shows up, you either have a Krak grenade to do a chunk or two of damage, or you just sit there like Tom Hanks at the end of Saving Private Ryan, shooting a 9mm into a fucking tank! It felt so damn oppressive during that first week of 4.0 knowing you had a super high likelihood of seeing those flying assholes 2 or 3 times in a mission and knowing your run was most likely over. Having something that can actually do good ranged damage against extremis and terminus enemies is going to be a really welcome change for me!
Yea i am intersted to see how this will turn out in the case of Assault. For the other two im not sure how it will turn out, Vanguard might similarly benifit from it as Assault but for Bulwark having the ranged interrupt is quite nice when running the plasma pistol since he is the least mobile melee class. We will have to see how the volkite performs i guess
Yea im looking forward to it on my vangaurd. The neo-volkite looks like it will do a good amount of damage while you're locked on to a zeno or neurothrope. It'll probably melt minoris too. Hopefully the perk tree is exciting
@rainzoro You're not "wrong" per-se, but Vanguards also have another ranged weapon that isn't a pistol, LOL! Still, I've played enough of both classes to know they're in the same boat. Bolt carbine doesn't feel like it does appreciable damage either (although, I don't have it at relic yet so that may change), and melta rifle doesn't have the ammo capacity to be worth dumping 2/3 to all of your ammo into one mob to kill it. So you guys do have more options than assault, but they still aren't good. I'm just glad Saber saw it and are giving everyone another option. I think the big balancing thing they might do will probably be around ammo consumption. Like, if you're taking this as an answer to big mobs, then you won't also have it as an option for a ranged interrupt because it won't have enough ammo to reliably do both roles. Or if it does, then the volkite will take too long to do enough damage to stun the mob out. I think they do want lethal to be something where you need to coordinate with your team to cover all your bases, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of "but" in there like that.

I kinda knew it. "Demerium: Obelisk". Basically they will fill the gaps with the Obelisks section of the final portion of the main story. My hope is that you can play 2 diferent set up of the same mission depending on who you're playing as.
Yeah, while playing the campaign, I knew they’d add this section to PVE as it just makes sense. It’s the only mission from campaign that you don’t see the squad perspective. I was surprised it wasn’t released before Termination though
What I wish in the future. 1. Horde mode 2. Power AXE for vanguard. So the khorne vanguard look like khorne bezerker 3. OG SP helmet, really not a fan to the primaris helmet. 4. New classes, Techmarine, chaplain or maybe greyknights 5. Heavy primaris build, they need twin power fist with bolters/flammers (Not sure that's gonna happen but hey, it's warhammer lore) 6. New chaos terminus enemies, chaos spawn, defiler, chaos champion.
Grey Knight isn’t really a class though. If a psyker is what you’re after then they should add Librarian. Alongside Chaplain, Techmarine, and Apothecary. Which I imagine they will be adding.
I suspect helmets and customization "will arrive in the life of the game" means that those are earmarked for seasons over the course of the game. One season we'll get beaky. One season we'll get aquilla etc.
In Darktide theres a bonus for playing quick match games. Totally agree this should be a thing in SM2 and defo long hair, beards and tashes for Spaces Wolves
As an Assault class main, I hope there is a mode setting switch for this pistol where you can choose between a ray style output and a "bullet" style output for the Volkite. That would be dope.
hilarious to hear 'no dev budget' when this game (and season pass) have made such an absurd amount of money. Fan mods already addressing many of the missing cosmetics and QoL fixes

I think what they meant about new melee weapons was more towards the time aspect and reallocating programmers, artists etc not so much the budget. As for the remark on the helmet customization it appears they meant to say that “over the life of the game” being a continuous addition over time. Each chapter pack and season may add in new customization over time but not all at once.
Sniper really aint getting the Neo-Vol pistol even tho it has 5 weapons as a whole class and all of the choices are the primary slot? I love my knife but please, give me a sidearm that isnt bolt pistol im so bored of it.
I've only played Sniper (my max class) Tactical (just started leveling and am at 13) and Bulwark (just getting started) and I feel like you have basically only two options as Sniper---Bolt Sniper Rifle, or Las Fusil since you have no options for pistol or melee. When I first checked out Tactical I was shocked how much choice you had....
And tactical has plenty of choices... on exactly one weapon slot. No Volkite for me. Long gone are the days of tactical support squads running around with 10 Volkite Chargers between them. Never foget what Erebus took from us.

the bolt snipers take too many rounds so i am hoping for a buff they maybe be able to add 1/2 of you total ammo back into your reserves but since it does not have aoe it may need it.

"Lifespan of the game" literally means the game's lifespan. A game lives and breathes on player base, a game continues so long as there is interest. It isn't "planned obsolescense" - a game ending its updates is very rarely planned in the creation of it. That said, this lovely game doesn't look to be ending any time soon. Not for a long while. So we can expect a very long life for this game.

So glad we will be able to add Deathwatch stuff to the other shoulder. I love the deathwatch pauldron, I think it looks great with a Novamarine color scheme.
Given the Vulkite is a beam weapon, I'd expect it's damage to be underwhelming simply because you must keep it on target to do the job. I expect it would have a more interesting niche as a super high or infinite capacity weapon, where you give up some dps and a bit of usability for something that has enough ammo to kill waves of Nuerothrops and Zoanthrops. If it also has some perks to interrupt speed, I could see it being an interesting alternative playstyle to the other pistols.
Wish they would buff the power sword a little bit, bulwark feels like I'm swinging a pool noodle sometimes. And Imo the Assault and Vanguard need an ability buff to 3 charges since they are so integral to the classes identity.
Volkite pistol seems like the solution to dealing with zoanenthropes. I'm glad that they showed it could still gun strike, but it might not pack the same punch in a gun strike as the others.
One big thing: Loadouts that would include, skill point both on the weapon tree as well as the skill tree You could make loadouts for each mission / faction / weapon
Its fair to not play as Heretics in operations but the original Space Marine game not only had better costumization for them but also a horde mode were you played as them. So hopefully in the future we get something like that.
The Volkite pistol as it is in the game sounds... useless. Nids and most chaos forces do not hold still long enough to really make a weapon like that of any real use. May work better for Thropes though...
Definitely more like a Vanguard weapon, especially when used after a grapnel hook and then putting all those Volkite shots into the head Imo as an assault main, while its nice to have more sidearm options, a maxed out Heavy Bolt pistol is everything you need, especially with Ganthalamor's Crusade (the high accuracy version), in a range weapon: you can instant kill critters with head shots (which you can land reliably), the ammo capacity upgrade brings it to a respectable 10 shots per magazine, and 3 to 4 shots to a majoris outside jump pack distance (which I can consistently make thanks to its high accuracy and low recoil) will easily stop any call ins and you can even trade shots efficiently with range enemies
Unfortunately I thought the exact same thing. Unless it acts more like an incendiary weapon where DoT ticks after each successful hit. If it is like most beam weapons in game though yeh it won't be that great.
@@DavidTector I don't think parrying would be an issue. It's that if the weapon is meant to deal more damage with time, the way enemies attack in the game would prevent that. Same reason any perk that extends melee combos is essentially useless as you nearly never get the chance to perform a full combo (4-5 hits in a row) because an enemy will for sure attack you before you get to that point.
I was very surprised we didn't see more melee weapon choices available. Even if they were simply cosmetic skins for now, (chainsword moveset with a chainaxe skin for example) just having the option would feel like so many more chapters were thought about and brought into the fold.
Dev team saying that coloring tabards and other cloths is harder than it looks, made me worried, but I’m hoping that we can customize the cloth as well. Tired of starting at the gigantic “XIII” on the front, as I’m walking into battle as a Blood Angel

I feel like the devs should focus on customization first since that would be half of the re play ability for the game then work on mission at. Getting the small stuff would be easier to knock out so they can actually work on more challenging parts for there game by the time we get to the end half the player base might be gone just from having to wait which is why they should focus on customization which allows us to create a look to are Astarte that is unique and can be changed around many times just like the missions as u switch between them
When you are looking at what levels you have completed, you should be able to see which class has completed which difficulty. Should be an easy implementation.
You are wrong about plasma being the best option for bulwark. Easily the best option is the bolt pistol, however, this is only the case when paired with a snipers cooldown perk. He can banner with nearly every wave.
If it’s lore accurate, volkite weapons are supposed to shoot something like microwaves, theoretically nothing should explode as suggested in the video but they also opted to make melta a shotgun rather than a close range single target anti heavy infantry/monster/vehicle weapon so I guess we’ll find out soon.
Have you played Boltgun? I expect the difference between the plasma and volkite to be about the same there. It’ll be fun to use, but I think I’ll still use the plasma more.
Assault needs some perk that builds health back up. Hes tough to play in Lethal unless youre just spamming parries constantly, and that ruins his flow.
I belive somthing that whould be fun whould be the bots in operations useing the loudout you got on the carschter they are including paint job and wepon lvl
I can understand there might be issues colouring cloth in general, but I hope the Dark Angels pack introduces at least a dark Angel banner for bulwark seeing the DA champion is a bulwark. Also with 4M+ players I'd hope they get the resources to develop some new weapons.
I hope they do something about that engine bug that causes artifacting on the screen. It had the odd little flash on the loading screen but after the last patch it got much worse affecting gameplay
Volkite Culverin potentially for the heavy and Caliver for the Tactical could be an idea if they want to build on introducing Volkite and since those classes (as well as the Sniper) can’t use the Neo-Volkite pistol
Oh... I was really hoping for the tactical and the sniper to get more than 1 option for sidearms, but oh well... (Edit: nevermind, looks like i have the big dumb because they literally show the tactical using it in the overview and i just forgor)
Tactical has so many primary options though. We don't really need any more options than what we already have. Also i never use my pistol when i play tactical because i never run out of ammo on my primary due to emperors vengeance. Sniper on the other hand definitely could use at least one more secondary option. Maybe the heavy bolt pistol

Not true that there's no reason to use the bolt pistol on Bulwark. Well the plasma pistol does outperform the bolt pistol in most aspects it cannot get headshots, so if you have a sniper with the team perk to reduce ability cooldown by 10% via headshots the bull pistol becomes very useful
So about different heads to match different chapters, I was thinking they could just sculpt chapter specific bare heads (golden locks and beautiful features for BA, mohawk and beard for a space wolf, or just a missing head for the Iron Hands), and allow us to equip them. Cause in the end, choosing between helmet or non helmet at the moment is basically just a headswap. Basically same as with the tabletop upgrade packs.
Was disapointed with the new enemy type not actually being a new enemy. I do really like the game and like the new map. Pretty sweet that were already getting another map in December.
Why do you think neo volkite pistol is a bad representation? looks pretty faithful to what source material I can read. Perhaps a bit less powerful for balancing reasons but everything I read says it's a thermal death ray type weapon.

Hopefully we get a Emperor Champion class or armor. As a Black Templar it will be amazing to carry the black sword against the hordes of xenos and heretics.
i mean to be fair the guy is using an assault, he is best in melee so maybe not the best example for a ranged weapon use, still am happy to see the assault get another gun

I am so surprised they are putting Volkite weapons in the game. I think its cool, but just a bit surprise. Theyre pre-Imperial weapons. From the WH Wiki: Those few examples of a Volkite Weapon that remained in service were the purview of only a few specialised units at the outbreak of the conflict that tore the Imperium apart in a galaxy-spanning civil war. Volkite Weapons in the present time are exceedingly rare, and are scarcely ever seen amongst the Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes in the 41st Millennium.
Have Operations for Space Marines. Create a new mode for Chaos Legionnaires in Space Marine 2, like Dark Crusade? Missing an opportunity to sell and distribute Chaos armor and weapons.
I really hope they bring out voices for the chapter packs in the future, having Black Templars and Space Wolves praise Guilliman and the codex is starting to grate a bit...

Corvus helmet will come with the Raven Guard dlc, wish insuspect to be the next in line after the dark angels.

I've only played Sniper (my max class) Tactical (just started leveling and am at 13) and Bulwark (just getting started) and I feel like you have basically only two options as Sniper---Bolt Sniper Rifle, or Las Fusil since you have no options for pistol or melee. When I first checked out Tactical I was shocked how much choice you had....

And tactical has plenty of choices... on exactly one weapon slot. No Volkite for me. Long gone are the days of tactical support squads running around with 10 Volkite Chargers between them. Never foget what Erebus took from us.

@@christopherjohnson2171 I have the most fun playing sniper with the marksman carbine variants, much more of a "stealth commando" form of gameplay than the sort of "backline glass-cannon" strategy the las and bolt sniper mostly force you to play
the bolt snipers take too many rounds so i am hoping for a buff they maybe be able to add 1/2 of you total ammo back into your reserves but since it does not have aoe it may need it.

"Lifespan of the game" literally means the game's lifespan. A game lives and breathes on player base, a game continues so long as there is interest. It isn't "planned obsolescense" - a game ending its updates is very rarely planned in the creation of it.
That said, this lovely game doesn't look to be ending any time soon. Not for a long while. So we can expect a very long life for this game.
Yeh everybody know what it means. It's just odd to say that something is coming out during its lifespan because it's extremely vague.
@@zacg1924 Not at all vague. Literally means that, the entire time there are updates for the game, helmets and helmet patterns will be added as customization.

No, because that could mean its coming out tomorrow or coming out when the games lifespan is finished, correct? Therefore it is a vague statement.
So glad we will be able to add Deathwatch stuff to the other shoulder. I love the deathwatch pauldron, I think it looks great with a Novamarine color scheme.
Given the Vulkite is a beam weapon, I'd expect it's damage to be underwhelming simply because you must keep it on target to do the job.
I expect it would have a more interesting niche as a super high or infinite capacity weapon, where you give up some dps and a bit of usability for something that has enough ammo to kill waves of Nuerothrops and Zoanthrops.
If it also has some perks to interrupt speed, I could see it being an interesting alternative playstyle to the other pistols.
Wish they would buff the power sword a little bit, bulwark feels like I'm swinging a pool noodle sometimes.
And Imo the Assault and Vanguard need an ability buff to 3 charges since they are so integral to the classes identity.
I didn't really like the power sword till i got it to relic now its almost as fast as the knife.
Volkite pistol seems like the solution to dealing with zoanenthropes. I'm glad that they showed it could still gun strike, but it might not pack the same punch in a gun strike as the others.
One big thing:
Loadouts that would include, skill point both on the weapon tree as well as the skill tree
You could make loadouts for each mission / faction / weapon
Its fair to not play as Heretics in operations but the original Space Marine game not only had better costumization for them but also a horde mode were you played as them. So hopefully in the future we get something like that.
The Volkite pistol as it is in the game sounds... useless. Nids and most chaos forces do not hold still long enough to really make a weapon like that of any real use. May work better for Thropes though...

Definitely more like a Vanguard weapon, especially when used after a grapnel hook and then putting all those Volkite shots into the head
Imo as an assault main, while its nice to have more sidearm options, a maxed out Heavy Bolt pistol is everything you need, especially with Ganthalamor's Crusade (the high accuracy version), in a range weapon: you can instant kill critters with head shots (which you can land reliably), the ammo capacity upgrade brings it to a respectable 10 shots per magazine, and 3 to 4 shots to a majoris outside jump pack distance (which I can consistently make thanks to its high accuracy and low recoil) will easily stop any call ins and you can even trade shots efficiently with range enemies
sadly that vulkite pistol sounds useless. The game punishes you for standing still and not rolling around. The weapon wont be used unless its busted.
Unfortunately I thought the exact same thing. Unless it acts more like an incendiary weapon where DoT ticks after each successful hit. If it is like most beam weapons in game though yeh it won't be that great.

@@DavidTector I don't think parrying would be an issue. It's that if the weapon is meant to deal more damage with time, the way enemies attack in the game would prevent that. Same reason any perk that extends melee combos is essentially useless as you nearly never get the chance to perform a full combo (4-5 hits in a row) because an enemy will for sure attack you before you get to that point.
Eh? In the demo video you can clearly see that the assault player is moving while shooting the ray.

I was very surprised we didn't see more melee weapon choices available.
Even if they were simply cosmetic skins for now, (chainsword moveset with a chainaxe skin for example) just having the option would feel like so many more chapters were thought about and brought into the fold.
Dev team saying that coloring tabards and other cloths is harder than it looks, made me worried, but I’m hoping that we can customize the cloth as well. Tired of starting at the gigantic “XIII” on the front, as I’m walking into battle as a Blood Angel

I feel like the devs should focus on customization first since that would be half of the re play ability for the game then work on mission at. Getting the small stuff would be easier to knock out so they can actually work on more challenging parts for there game by the time we get to the end half the player base might be gone just from having to wait which is why they should focus on customization which allows us to create a look to are Astarte that is unique and can be changed around many times just like the missions as u switch between them
I hope they add chapter specific customisation for the others like carcharadons tribal markings space wolves wolf pelts etc

When you are looking at what levels you have completed, you should be able to see which class has completed which difficulty. Should be an easy implementation.
You are wrong about plasma being the best option for bulwark. Easily the best option is the bolt pistol, however, this is only the case when paired with a snipers cooldown perk. He can banner with nearly every wave.
If it’s lore accurate, volkite weapons are supposed to shoot something like microwaves, theoretically nothing should explode as suggested in the video but they also opted to make melta a shotgun rather than a close range single target anti heavy infantry/monster/vehicle weapon so I guess we’ll find out soon.
Have you played Boltgun? I expect the difference between the plasma and volkite to be about the same there. It’ll be fun to use, but I think I’ll still use the plasma more.
Assault needs some perk that builds health back up. Hes tough to play in Lethal unless youre just spamming parries constantly, and that ruins his flow.
I belive somthing that whould be fun whould be the bots in operations useing the loudout you got on the carschter they are including paint job and wepon lvl
I can understand there might be issues colouring cloth in general, but I hope the Dark Angels pack introduces at least a dark Angel banner for bulwark seeing the DA champion is a bulwark.
Also with 4M+ players I'd hope they get the resources to develop some new weapons.

I hope they do something about that engine bug that causes artifacting on the screen. It had the odd little flash on the loading screen but after the last patch it got much worse affecting gameplay
Volkite Culverin potentially for the heavy and Caliver for the Tactical could be an idea if they want to build on introducing Volkite and since those classes (as well as the Sniper) can’t use the Neo-Volkite pistol
Oh... I was really hoping for the tactical and the sniper to get more than 1 option for sidearms, but oh well...

Tactical has so many primary options though. We don't really need any more options than what we already have. Also i never use my pistol when i play tactical because i never run out of ammo on my primary due to emperors vengeance.
Sniper on the other hand definitely could use at least one more secondary option. Maybe the heavy bolt pistol

Not true that there's no reason to use the bolt pistol on Bulwark. Well the plasma pistol does outperform the bolt pistol in most aspects it cannot get headshots, so if you have a sniper with the team perk to reduce ability cooldown by 10% via headshots the bull pistol becomes very useful
So about different heads to match different chapters, I was thinking they could just sculpt chapter specific bare heads (golden locks and beautiful features for BA, mohawk and beard for a space wolf, or just a missing head for the Iron Hands), and allow us to equip them. Cause in the end, choosing between helmet or non helmet at the moment is basically just a headswap. Basically same as with the tabletop upgrade packs.

Was disapointed with the new enemy type not actually being a new enemy. I do really like the game and like the new map. Pretty sweet that were already getting another map in December.
Why do you think neo volkite pistol is a bad representation? looks pretty faithful to what source material I can read. Perhaps a bit less powerful for balancing reasons but everything I read says it's a thermal death ray type weapon.

I'm little concerned that Volkite pistol is specifically described as "A weapon of choice against Tyranid." Does that mean it would be inefficient against Chaos enemies?
Hopefully we get a Emperor Champion class or armor. As a Black Templar it will be amazing to carry the black sword against the hordes of xenos and heretics.

i mean to be fair the guy is using an assault, he is best in melee so maybe not the best example for a ranged weapon use, still am happy to see the assault get another gun

I am so surprised they are putting Volkite weapons in the game. I think its cool, but just a bit surprise. Theyre pre-Imperial weapons. From the WH Wiki: Those few examples of a Volkite Weapon that remained in service were the purview of only a few specialised units at the outbreak of the conflict that tore the Imperium apart in a galaxy-spanning civil war. Volkite Weapons in the present time are exceedingly rare, and are scarcely ever seen amongst the Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes in the 41st Millennium.
I hope Volkite gets a perk which lets heat ray leave burn marks damaging enemy walking though it

Have Operations for Space Marines. Create a new mode for Chaos Legionnaires in Space Marine 2, like Dark Crusade? Missing an opportunity to sell and distribute Chaos armor and weapons.
I really hope they bring out voices for the chapter packs in the future, having Black Templars and Space Wolves praise Guilliman and the codex is starting to grate a bit...
