Depends if im gonna go and fish for a mix of panfish and bass. if im gonna go and fish strictly for panfish ill just bring my spinning rod, but if im gonna go and fish for bass il bring both baitcasters i have and maybe 1 or two spinning rods. if im gonna fish for both ill probably bring one baitcaster, a crappie rod, and a bass spinning rod
Frog fishing from a kayak has been a real struggle for me. Hard to get those big frog hooks in a fish when kayak moves to the fish as you set the hook on a frog fish
I caught probly like a dozen bass yesterday of both large and smallmouth almost all on a googan jig and krackin craw. one was a 20 inch 4 pound largie. also i love phlueger presidents have the same one as you
So My Six Gills and Dobyns rods are kayak rods. I have a bass x, but not the short handle. Shorts are great for sit insides, but it doesn't matter too much to me with the stand-up kayaks. My ducketts are all long at the butt fo the rod.
I think 8 is ideal to carry for me I put a crate on the back with 6 rod holders then I keep 2 on the deck in front of me and if I need to put them in holders the kayak has 2 built in rod holders I’ll use them, 4 or 5 is really all you need but I hate re-rigging so I carry at least 8 have carried 11 but that’s is a bit much, starts getting to cluttered in the boat.
How do you select your rods and reels for each trip?

@sports & outdoors chanell Makes the choices easier for sure!
I bring a spinning for lighter lures and baitcaster either for trolling or for heavier lures

Do you prefer longer or shorter rods for kayak fishing?
Doesn’t matter to me unless its a sit inside kayak
What pdf are you wearing?

Crushed it man! Nice work!
I will take most of my rods with me to the area I'm fishing then once I get there I'll decide what I'm pulling based on what I see at the water.
Great option! Better if you have a rod tube carrier or a truck topper/van for sure unless you just take them all out with you.
Have yall looked at the St. Croix mojo yak rods? They are designed for use on kyaks and have short butts.
Awesome reel, great value. I went bass x but that's a solid rod. I also have the mojo flyrod and don't hate it.

Great video, earned yourself a sub. I am just about to get into kayak fishing so this was a great help to have me narrow in on rod selection.
Happy this helped, thanks for the sub!
You use braid on most or all ?
Everything but my ultralight set up. Works great
