  • In this 5 Minute Guitar Lesson video we go over Open D tuning, alternating 5-4-6-4 bass picking with your thumb, and the song "Poor Boy," attributed to Bukka White. If that sounds too wacky, don't worry I break it down for you in a digestible way. Also there's a kitty cameo at the end.

Yeah there are definitely variations, but I like tjis as a starting piint at least. I think DADGAD in the strictest sense is pretty popular in Irish and World music, but the regulat old D tuning has F# because it's the 3rd degree of the D Major Scale. #themoreyouknow #tuningparty

Can we play the same slide with open g?

If you mean can you use the same slide piece (brass, steel, or glass) from one tuning to another, you absolutely can. In these videos I sworxh between slides simply pit of convenience. Thanks so much for watching, and feel free to ask more questions here in the comments. I'll try and answer them as best I can.

I guess I don't understand the question, man. I have three or four Open G videos that might help answer your question. Or feel free to rephrase the question, and maybe I can do a better job of answering.

@@TheMightyOrq Can I play the track you're playing with Open D with Open G? I'm sorry, my English is a bit poor

@@outlaw1099 Oh man, I think I understand now! So Open G and Open D are similar, but the way I play this track it is specifically for Open D and cannot really be played with Open G. Your question has given me a video idea. Maybe I can explain the differences and similarities between G and D tuning. Thanks for watching, and feel free to keep asking questions. I'm glad to answer if I can.
