Denzel has so many great movies it's easy to miss one or two. This is one that a ton of people missed, but it really is a great movie. That scene where Azazel shows himself to Hobbs, traveling through the people walking back and forth, is absolutely amazing. The first time I saw it, I thought it was just the creepiest thing I'd ever seen. Great reaction y'all. Edit: If you want to stick with this sort of theme check out 'The Devil's Advocate'. It has Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. It is one of my all time favorites.
24 years ago John Goodman was the grand marshal for Mardi Gras in New Orleans and I got to meet him and he gave me a hug. That was such a great time and he’s super nice!
I remember going to see Flight in the theater and when John Goodman's character was introduced, they played Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones. It reminded me of this movie and I started laughing. No one else got it
The plan at the end was to Seperate the demon from any any human hosts... Hence the 500 cubits Azazel could survive outside a host... No one knew about the animal thing, as if they did they would have known a forest is a terrible place for this... Also, the person in the window is listed as a "goof" on IMDB so probably was a crew person or something...

Another great scary movie from around this time is the 2001 "Frailty". It has the same type of vibe (at least to me) as "Fallen". It stars Bill Paxton and Matthew McConaughey.
This movie freaked me out as a teenager. I heard Paint it Black on the way home from work, watched this movie was caught off guard at the end...then heard it in the credits. Turned off the TV, turned on the radio to sleep, and heard it again.
Anybody here old enough to remember that around the time this movie came out, AT&T had a commercial using this same song 😂😂😂 Used to creep me the hell out

This is one of those forgotten classics. It’s a top 5 Denzel flick for me, but he’s got so many good ones I never see anyone talk about it. It’s up there with like Sling Blade, Frailty, Falling Down, etc in forgotten 90s flicks.
I love this movie! Elias Koteas, the actor that played the killer that was executed is a fantastic character actor and has a reputation for playing the outsider/weirdo characters flawlessly. Denzel is perfect in this movie. That Stones song will be in your thoughts for a couple of days after watching this lol!
Possibly his best performance. This movie had me all twisted up until the very end. One of my all time favorite suspense movies. Hitchcock could not have done it better

I didn’t know y’all were watching this! When the brother dies it absolutely kills me. He was such a sweet man. I have a hard time with that scene. Other than that it’s a great movie.
And then Hobbs dies. .. leaving the Boy fatherless and Uncleless. Very sad. It's been a long time since I've seen this movie. I forgot about him dying. 🤷🏻♀️
The only other big acting credit for the brother is playing the role of God in the Elizabeth Hurley/Brendan Fraser version of Bedazzled. The man's smile is angelic, so it works well
Remember watching this when it came out and that scene when he keeps jumping bodies and looking at Denzel is exactly how I felt when I used to walk around Walmart stoned out of my mind. Scary stuff!
I worked at the video rental store a couple of years around the year 2000. We had over 10,000 different movies. And, we had our own staff pick shelf. My staff pick shelf. 1. The Wizard of Oz 2. The Army of Darkness 3. Fallen 4. Reservoir Dogs 5. (Different movie every week) Army of Darkness, Fallen, and Reservoir Dogs, people would watch those movies and come back for more. So, I would think Fallen was a pretty big movie back then. I miss video stores. The one I worked at was in North East Tucson called Premiere Video. Most video stores back then had around 500 titles. We had over 10,000. We had an actor and actress section, which you really didn't see back then. That's the only place I personally ever saw it. We had a horror section that was a room with a cabin in woods exterior, with a porch and porch roof. We had a kid section that had this robotic puppet that played music with a life-size piano keyboard, sitting on a stage. There was also a tv wall with 9 television screens. And we were busy. DVDs were just starting out, so most of the movies were VHS, Fun facts: 1. VHS movies in the store were $20, but VHS movies at the video store were mostly $80 and up. Video rental VHS tapes were higher quality to last longer. 2. We fixed VHS tapes daily. Tape either breaks or gets crunched. You just cut off any undesirable part of the take and take it back together. Regular scotch tape works, but we used actual tape pre-cut specially made for fixing VHS tapes. You can cut 12 feet of tape and not even notice it while watching the movie. 12 feet is something like half a frame or something like that.
It was funny watching yall try to breakdown each scene and figure out what was going on as you were watching it, not realizing how deep down the rabbit hole this movie was going to go. It's a fantastic movie.

You need to watch "Falling Down" starring Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall. Asia reminds me of Regina Hall in Scary Movie 2. I can just hear her saying "Oh Ray....you so nasty."
He was not Azazel, it was Azazel telling the story of the time he was almost out smarted. John almost won but it went into the cat. He gave up his life, nephew and a woman who was very special to him. But like her father before John. Azazel still got away.

"Siege," "Deja Vu," and "Out of Time" are 3 interesting Denzel movies that might have never been in a reaction video. I'm actually surprised that they didn't think "fallen angel." That was the first thing that popped into my mind. The movie flat-out explained that it's an evil spirit being transmitted via touch, and they were still lost. It's not "de-stable;" it's "detestable." Babylon was the sinful, multicultural city that had to be destroyed. Cobbs wasn't unclean or detestable.
FYI, Azazel is an actual demon in the literature. You should watch "Nefarious"... it is the most accurate depiction of how possession actually takes hold and progresses.
The language wasn't Arabic. It was Aramaic, the language spoken in the Holy Land at the time of Jesus 2000 years ago, now basically considered lost. And if you rewatch, listen to what Greta explains to Hobbs about those spirits being fallen Angels that God cast out of Heaven. That's the main reference of the movie's title. Y'all got what the letters were spelling out way before I did when I first watched it years ago. I was slow on the uptake on that one. Don't know if you noticed but at the end, outside of the cabin, when John Goodman was singing "Time Is On My Side" he did a funny little Mick Jagger impersonation. Nice little homage to that Rolling Stones 60's classic. 💜☮️💜☮️💜☮️💜☮️💜☮️💜☮️💜☮️💜
There were a lot of actors that wanted to play Reese, and Elias Koteas did a great job. This whole movie was a masterclass of storytelling, acting, and intrigue. Absolutely no loose ends and every single scene had a purpose to the story.
This movie used to be a lot more popular. It may not have been TERMINATOR 2 or FIGHT CLUB popular, but it was known and played frequently on TBS. But for some reason, it's almost a deep cut in Denzel's career despite being a headliner at the time. I don't understand why, either.

I loved Elias in a good Werewolf flick, Skinwalkers. He got to play the good guy.

This is pretty cool movie. Different than a lot of stuff Denzel did. Very 90s.
"Siege," "Deja Vu," and "Out of Time" are 3 interesting Denzel movies that might have never been in a reaction video.
I'm actually surprised that they didn't think "fallen angel." That was the first thing that popped into my mind. The movie flat-out explained that it's an evil spirit being transmitted via touch, and they were still lost.
It's not "de-stable;" it's "detestable." Babylon was the sinful, multicultural city that had to be destroyed. Cobbs wasn't unclean or detestable.
To BJ's credit, he did say "Fallen from Grace" at the very beginning so he was *almost* there

FYI, Azazel is an actual demon in the literature.
You should watch "Nefarious"... it is the most accurate depiction of how possession actually takes hold and progresses.

The language wasn't Arabic. It was Aramaic, the language spoken in the Holy Land at the time of Jesus 2000 years ago, now basically considered lost.
And if you rewatch, listen to what Greta explains to Hobbs about those spirits being fallen Angels that God cast out of Heaven. That's the main reference of the movie's title.
Y'all got what the letters were spelling out way before I did when I first watched it years ago. I was slow on the uptake on that one.
Don't know if you noticed but at the end, outside of the cabin, when John Goodman was singing "Time Is On My Side" he did a funny little Mick Jagger impersonation. Nice little homage to that Rolling Stones 60's classic.

There were a lot of actors that wanted to play Reese, and Elias Koteas did a great job. This whole movie was a masterclass of storytelling, acting, and intrigue. Absolutely no loose ends and every single scene had a purpose to the story.
Been a long time watcher of the channel I just want to say your reactions always bring a smile to my face and light up my day. Keep up the good work!

This movie used to be a lot more popular. It may not have been TERMINATOR 2 or FIGHT CLUB popular, but it was known and played frequently on TBS. But for some reason, it's almost a deep cut in Denzel's career despite being a headliner at the time. I don't understand why, either.

Very underrated movie & one of my favourites.
