I'm from Paris, from a creole family. I believe it is part explaining my attraction to the New Orleans scene, Meters/Neville, Wild Magnolias, Tchoupitoulas, Longhair and Dr John. So one of my wishes was to meet or at least witness Dr John's magic live. Well I guess I still have his music. One can't always be in the right place... at the right time. Rest In Peace, Mr Rebbenack, and thank you.
I’m from NYC and I gravitate more to the music from that region now than any other music. My friends and family look at me like I have two heads when I talk about all this. I must’ve been a Cajun in another life.
Oh, no, that footwork was so UNNECESSARY! Like many of the great ones (Chuck Berry, Louis Armstrong, Elvis...) he knew to be also an entertainer. Bless him!
One of the greatest vocalist in jazz the soulful robust whiskey cigarette vocals resonate as have the pleasure of reading his memoirs and enjoy his recordings as like jelly roll Morton, Leadbelly, and Slim Harpo
Dr. John I will miss seeing you for now but I got plenty of your tunes to keep me going till I do rest in peace buddy must be nothing but good music in heaven now with you and all the rest that have passed before you!!! I love you man !!! Signed Eddie Maloney
Love this ! Was blessed to see Dr John maybe 10 years ago on New Years Eve in a CHURCH. The sound was off the hook in there !!! Great musicians, great set !!! Thanks for posting !
Just had to take a listen to one of his last recorded shows....he stopped in 2017 because of his health issues. Truly one of a kind and we may not see this cool a cat again soon. RIP, Mac!
I have been going to see Dr. John Concerts, starting in Detroit when i was 15 years old, I have seen him 30 times since, Now I am 62, He keeps on getting Better all the time, hat's off to The Doctor, Can't get enough of his Music Well now I am 69, A Memory came back, That night @ The Eastown Theater, The Stooges played, The Doctor played, and The Head Act was Ten Years After, all for $4 Bucks, , Cousin Figel
Another great performance by the Doctor. Fantastic backing group. Too bad the crowd wasn't more plentiful that day. It would have brought up the energy level.
Lol. After watching it a few times, it looks like The Doctor was sitting too far left of the mic when he first comes out. You can see him scoot over after the first verse of Wild Honey. It's such a good show that it doesn't even matter. One of my favorite shows even with all the feedback and technical problems. The drummer is hilarious.
you know at the end of the arm that holds the microphone there is a thick end, most of the time made of plastic. its made for a hand to grab it. it is for a stagehand to turn the mike into the direction of a soundsource real quick. there aint no sound coming from ones forehead.
Hahaha. This is why a band does need to give the engineer a proper sound check. It's a little sad that it took so long to fix that, though. It's happened to me; mic was on and sound was fixed in seconds.
@Funk & Reggae on MV, How'd You GET sucha CLEAN Post?! BTW When Roscoe encouraged Mr " Big Chief" Harrison to , "Blow Blow Blow!', that was the warmest, " better late than never" real deal professional musician encouragement!

"in the right place" ... well done :D and for me and this comment it could be "Right place, wrong time" after two years past... Same regrets ;)

Honeysuckle rose and rambling rose gritty vocals and bodacious guitar rythms. Cheers.

+Cousin Figel , same for me, but i saw him only two times when he was at jazz festivals in Vienna/Austria... i agree completly with you..
Cousin Figel I am envious! I saw him just once in Dublin
Dr John gets better and better and better over time. His piano more fluid, elegant, soulful. His singing conjured from the elements.
That's amazing, wish I had gotten to see him

Dr. John, poet extraordinaire....nice
Thank you so much for sharing this. I truly needed to hear him tonight.
We send 💘😻 RIP 🙏
What a great gig. I love the way the bass player gets to sing some of St James Infirmary. Thanks for posting.
They are so cool that despite his best attempts with that mix, the sound man simply couldn't make it suck.
The Doctor is full of magic...
The Doctor's in the house y'all. Funking up the place!

Don't know bout this piano, but i know it will remember this.
They definitely needed to bring his mic up some... c'mon now, is there something in the water? LOl.
Wow! That stone wall as a back drop can't help the stage sound to much.

Anyone know what model Epiphone the guitar player has?
Also I love how the setlist has Snow White and Cinderella on it lol
I think it's an Emporer
@@georgerigberg4335 Negative, but thanks for the input! Emperors don't have sharp cutaway, and this one looks a little thinner than the Emperors.
What's the guitarists name?
Can anybody tell me if that is an Epiphone Byrdland the guitarist is playing?
Looks like this crowd claps on the 1s and 3s... if they clap at all

I was asking myself whether it could be Bryan Stoltz ?!!!
Sorry, I made a mistake : It's Jon Fohl

Someone should have hired a soundman for this show...
Too much medium on the Mac's mic, too much volume and trebles on the drums, not enough bass on the bass. That is a lot for a 4 guys band.
Haa. Four people has rigormortis...
rust zacht ..................
Where was Sarah Morrow?
She came aboard later - this is a 2006 performance.
She was sad anyway
I love The Doctor but this is terrible.
