the reason why theyre so small is because they are originally from the nederlands and have a german youtube channel called simplicissimus where they upload similar / translated videos. They expanded their lineup also to english speaking videos now
They are originally from germany. The two founders and main producers are germans who studied in amsterdam when they created the channel. Simplicissimus is made up of germans ,and probably dutch because their office is in amsterdam, who have been making these kind of videos in their native language for years already. They were even funded by the german state TV for some time until they left that program for more flexibility and to try out different things. Fern is a collaboration between them and hoog, a dutch content creator.

@@El_Pollo_Loco he’s said before that he doesn’t want to do that and prefers working alone
Your channel popped into my recs and watched all the vids in two days.
Author(s), keep up, good job!
2 minutes and 45 minutes in, I’m like the production value for this is crazy. There’s a whole-ass intro with music n sh*t 😭 I’m hooked. First video I watched from this channel, definitely subscribing.
This video is stolen from the Channel Simlicissimus
@@1ce_Rayzo this channel is run by simpliccimus (+ Hoog)
@1ce_Rayzo he literally made this channel lol (by he i mean sc)
Lol you mean like what documentaries have been doing for decades??
@@mandu6665 exactly my point. Bro had a legit budget for this series. Someone doing all that just for a UA-cam video is like unheard of. No one goes through that much effort.
This channel had insanely high quality videos from the start, but man it just keeps improving so much!
Amazing storytelling too, I'm easily hooked to something that I didn't think would even interest me that much
Every video is a masterpiece. Thank you to everyone involved in this channel. I do hope one day you consider making 3-4 part series with 1h each like BobbyBroccoli does and really get in there on a topic.
Stop saying that feel like you are watching premium content, you are INDEED watching premium content. Period!
Imagine being the cop that saved those 2 girls lifes, damn
Simply/ Fern your production value is over the top! Keep the good work going
This video is better than half the documentaries that have been made. Amazing work! 👏🏼👏🏼
Always click on a fern video the second I see a new upload but the cgi in this one is outstanding, great job
one of the best upcoming yt channels tbh, i don't comment much much less to commend creators but I genuinely enjoy each upload of yours, we eating good goddamn
The guys behind the channel are from a german youtube channel called "Simplicissimus" they are absolute legends here in germany. Im so glad that they found a way to go international because their videos are and were always pure greatness. They really do not have any haters. Enjoy
@@tobidunno7628 is the german youtube channel worth checking out? do you work for fern?
upcoming? with almost 1 million subs?
@@empputrubaduu4725 For a channel that hasn't even been around for a year. I think you could still call that upcoming.
@@empputrubaduu4725the Channel is fairly new
Was so shocked for the intro, its like watching a full on documentary!
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. You deserve more Fern. the quality of your videos gets better and better.
the first thing I thought was this isn't a UA-cam-level documentary but that's just how good and high-quality Fern is. respect to their come up in the past couple of years, very much deserved. but they should be way bigger than they're IMO. their time is now
the reason why theyre so small is because they are originally from the nederlands and have a german youtube channel called simplicissimus where they upload similar / translated videos.
Fern is a collaboration between them and hoog, a dutch content creator.
id love to see a full release of that intro song, great work

The quality of your videos is astounding just two suggestions: cover more cases like this and also make the videos longer
The editing style on all of these videos are so good bro. i am always looking for new videos posted each week lmao
I am a self taught CGI artist who has worked on some small project before but I dont think ive ever seen such a well crafted CGI project such as this one besides in movies. The scenes, the depth of feild, the specular highlights, the animations and armichure rigs are just INCREDIBLE. This must have taken a lot of work and i commend you guys for putting so much effort into your channel. You have gained at least one new subscriber today 😂!
Edit: The flashback scenes are so well done!!!!!!! The cuts matching with the music and everything. I aspire to be this good one day lol.
Wtf? This is as mediocre as it gets.
Hab mir gedacht das es irgendwie bekannt wirkt vom Erzählstil und dann realisiert „simpliiii“ HAHAHA geiles Video, weiter so und danke das ihr sowas macht, richtig nicer videostyle 🫶
It's insane to me how fast this channel grows, I subscribed when y'all were still in the 8000 mark or something, now you guys are very close to a million! I subscribed right after the simpli video back then and I am so glad I basically get to see bonus content with that quality!
Literally was about to check social blade I was like I swear they were just at 10k

This channel has gotten soooo good. Media corporation level of production going on here. Keep it up Fern!
Cinematics go crazyyy. Insane that you can do this weekly!!
This is insane, feels like something I’d watch on TV. Quality is amazing, keep it up! Instant sub.
Also one thing- in Carol Da Ronch’s case, Bundy actually only handcuffed one of her hands in the struggle, as she was putting up an immense fight. This is one of the reasons she was able to escape.
Always exciting to watch new videos from Fern. The production is insane.
The quality, the narration, the story, the score, the voice, this is no less than a masterpiece and will be remembered for ages. Deserves a standing ovation! Phenomenal
For the people that are looking for intro/outro song. it is made by Marcel Becker-Neu. he just uploaded it to spotify. "kepler - where did it all go wrong"
This feels like the same level of story telling and editing as blooprint and stevie. This is great stuff!
Fern / Hoog is the peak of UA-cam documentary now. Well done guys, masterpiece once again!

neo as well
The edit, voice, acoustics, story telling absolutely fantastic. Great video!
21:36 that is the conclusion I needed 😌
Satisfying as heck
Very high quality video. This must have taken quite a lot of effort
I must have watched 25+ docs on Bundy. This video is packed with info I've never heard before. Awesome production ❤
10:34 “She saw an eyewitness drawing that looked just like him…”
Proceeds to show us a cartoon face drawn by a toddler.
“Yup. That’s him!”
this is not a yt video its a whole series of 20 min loved it tilll the end
Thank you to the team behind this whole process, this is one of the few channels I've ever seen with genuine high quality. This is content I would be happy to pay for, but I'm so grateful that I found here first and that others have free public access to discover such quality.
The quality on these videos keeps getting better. Better than most videos on youtube. Thanks for doing these videos.
Cheers.
I’ve just started watching you guys and I can’t get enough!! Your editing and information skills are amazing!
Fern! One of my best UA-cam channels now! The quality of these documentaries are second to none. Love this channel ❤️
Quite genuinely, if you guys are producing all of your own animations, researching this well, releasing this regularly and now producing your own intro music, I will legitimately sign up to a Patreon.
I will however need a full release of that intro song.
The song is finnaly released!!!

Hi x
okay man that little ad timeline you put, actually kind of fucking genius.
Normally I skip ads like that in videos, but having something visually tell me that the ad isnt very long made me much more interested in just letting it play. Smart move man.
High quality content is an understatement for how great this video is feels like its ripped from netflix
The custom made song at the end is just a cherry on top of the production effort. Quality video. If only they had a full song of the outro
Please never stop making this type of content. So many want to put content like this behind a paywall and while I get that hard work should be compensated, making content like this that’s accessible will have a bigger impact. I hope people feel more inclined to donate to your channel to help out because videos like this are a dime a dozen these days and it’s refreshing ❤
Damn almost 1 million subs, I remember here when you guys were still almost 100k subs. Congrats! this is my fav doc channel on youtube fr. Viel Erfolg jungs
“What’re you doing here” in the ad got me 😭🙏
I was blown away by the animation, and then the introduction music and storytelling. I'm looking forward to you becoming one of the video essay elites.
I appreciate how short and sweet this is instead of watching a 2 hour long video essay. I love 2 hour long video essays, but sometimes I just want to hear stuff quick and easy. Thank you for the short video on him.
The video is very high quality and well made, and on top of that, it's entertaining.
You just earned yourself a new subscriber.

Love that fern is pumping out more videos. I love the 3D modeling animations
Love the amount of work that goes into these mini documentaries. The graphics are insanely professional and really help to picture the scenes themselves. Kudos for all your effort. And I REALLY hope you get picked up by a production company as a team. I could watch extended 'Netflix' cuts of these all day long. Keep up the great work. SUBBED.
