Very informative! Do you have a video of building a pond with a window using a liner? I’d like to understand the best way to sealing a window with the liner and what kind of frame you would recommend. Thank you!!
A really good and informative video. I wish I had saw this video before I built my pond. Then I could watch my fish from my kitchen window instead of just looking at the brick wall of my pond
I know this is an old video but hoping for an answer! What program did you use to create a digital 3D reconstruction of the pond? Have been looking for a program that doesn't cost so much and I don't really need the 2D programs that typically come with them.
It's called SketchUp. There is now a web based free to use version that's is quite good. SketchUp is amazingly easy to use when you have mastered the basics. There are many tutorials on UA-cam. Hope this helps.
@@leecalladine it did thank you! Sketchup was one of the ones I thought was very expensive and came with too much, didn't know they had a free version! Thank you!
english heart yes plastic can be used on pond windows. It is very common in the USA to use acrilic. But less common in the UK. plastic can get scratched you have to be a lot more careful than you would with glass. Curved windows are possible but will cost a lot more to do. I would urge you to consult a qualified local installer who will be able to offer more detailed advice.
do the people that say you can put windows in ponds ever go to or even hear of aquariums both i homes or commercials ones. i mean just how stupid are people and that is not a challenge to see how dumb someone can be, just asking. there would be no difference in taking care of the pond window or taking care of the glass of an aquarium.

What will be the cost?
@@naicypaul6617 the cost depends a lot on the size of the window and who supplies the glass. Large windows can cost many hundreds of pounds.
@@leecalladine thanks
👍
i cant imagine that would be a problem the glass window would be strong enough. But i have no direct experience of it though.
How many mm glass used for this pond
Typical thickness of glass on a Koi pond would be 20mm or thicker. Glass is almost always over specified, but you don't want it to fail!
Can this be put in a cold climate? Gets well below 0゚ Where I live
Don't know. I would be careful with that. Maybe others could advise.
What glass thickness should I use for a 3k gallon pond, 12 ft by 12 ft. The glass window will be 20 inches by 4 ft.
Id say 3 inches If ya dont have measuring tape just do a rough estimate from erect cock nomean
Windows are cool !
And much easier to do than you might think.
Where’s the wooden pond build?
do you think perspex would be ok as a window?, Im thinking about building a pond with a large curved window in it
