@@kaylz6418 Yeah trip in '98 I recall I was in shorts & then jeans / t-shirt. My parents once lived in Casino, NSW when dad was still on the railways. The temperature was very mild like Perth, but it can get bitterly cold at night - it is desert, hence why a fireplace is needed.
@@matthewbrown6163 yes we do have the occasional cold night and go as low as 8 degrees. However, that’s rare. I wear my short sleeve t shirt and shirt all year round.
It’s so cool seeing you guys react to this. I live In WA and been to all of these places and it’s just so awesome to see people from other countries giving it love.
As someone from Perth I feel like I can say this, Perth doesn't have much of a skyline because its vertically challenged, but it stretches 80 miles from north to south. You can get some great views of the city if you head up to the hills on the east. You can make a day trip out there too due to the number of brewrys (Beer, cider, whisky, gin etc) orchards and farms. And theres lots of historical sites due to the suburbs in the east being some of the oldest in Perth
Perth City building is limited in height because of its fairly close proximity to the airport. There has been some talk of raising that height limit, but I'm not hopeful. The good news is, we're not far from the airport!
The mortgage you have to take out to go to the pub, the isolation, living in 1978 perpetually, being forced to learn the banjo, make moonshine & marry your cousin, yeah it’s great
WA is much more laid back to the Eastern States. We affectionally say WA stands for “Wait Awhile”. I live south of Perth in the country, about 1.5 hours away. The South West region is well known for vineyards too….and I have been known to be involved in a winery tour or two in the Dunsborough or Margaret River region. We have surf competitions that attract world wide stars too, in Margaret River. If you love outdoors either walking in the bush or beautiful white sandy beaches we have an endless supply of those all along the coast. The sun sets over the beaches. Our sunsets are spectacular. Winter is milder in WA and we do not have as many serious fires or flooding that the Eastern States get either. I am not saying that it never happens, but they do not happen very often. We have the biggest State too, so there are so many different landscapes. The Kimberley region up North is spectacular as are the beautiful Karri and Jarrah forest in my South West region. Both are hard wooded trees and they are known to make some of the most beautiful furniture you could ever have. Check out the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk near Denmark WA. Albany down south also has a Great War Museum. This is where our ANZAC soldiers left Australia to head to war by boats back in the day. You’d need a whole day to immerse yourself here. It has letters that the soldiers wrote, and so much more. Broome (said like the Broom you use to sweep) has an event called Stairway to the Moon, they have a Pearl farm, gorgeous beaches etc. One downside is that travel is expensive here compared to the Eastern States. I’m a proud Aussie and love all of Australia. I’ve been lucky to travel a lot, including a three month stint of around 15,000 km from WA to South Australia, up to Darwin in the North of Northern Territory and then back to WA following the coast back home. I’ve also managed to head to all other States except Canberra. That one is still on my bucket list. it is all beautiful but there is nothing like home. Cheers fellas.
The Swan Valley is nice but the best wineries are about 4 hours drive south in Margaret River, near the city of Busselton. The South West of WA is where everyone from Perth tends to holiday if they holiday in WA, so this tells you something if people are leaving a place as nice as Perth to go somewhere even nicer. It has everything from calm beaches to massive waves, to lots of fresh produce and tall, ancient forests. The Gold Coast is tropical, whereas Perth is temperate and has 4 distinct seasons but the winters are fairly mild. In terms of employment opportunities, Perth has a lot more. Gold Coast is a slower type of place that attracts a higher portion of retirees and holiday makers, whereas Perth is a major centre of commerce and a lot of major companies are based there or have significant offices and operations. WA consistently has the lowest unemployment rate of all of the Australian states and a lot of the federal taxes collected in the state are diverted to prop up the other states with weaker economies. A lot of people generalise about Perth being fairly mining centric, which has some truth, but there are a lot of other companies there like Wesfarmers, who own Bunnings, Kmart, Target, Officeworks and a few other retailers, as well as companies in other industries. There is a variety of housing in Perth and a lot of it is still affordable compared to places like Sydney. There are other cities in WA including Rockingham, Mandurah, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Geraldton, Albany, Broome, Busselton, Port Hedland and Karratha, as well as a lot of towns throughout. A lot of people are choosing to live in these places and fly into the mines for work, so they have the optimum balance between solid income and lifestyle for their families. Some people even choose to live in Bali and then fly in for work up in the north of the state. My partner was a flight attendant from another state and for Phez's information, she rates ladies from Perth as hands down the most classy and attractive. After living interstate for a while, it is also sadly something I noticed from day 1 of leaving the state. Lots of English speaking people from outside of Australia, like the UK and South Africa, tend to choose Perth over all of the other capital cities to settle, so this might be a pointer for people from the US in terms of the appeal of the place. That $60M gold coin at the Perth Mint was displayed at the New York stock exchange a few short years back, after it was minted. A lot of Americans own gold in the vaults at the Mint and WA produces massive amounts of gold. I know people who go looking for the stuff in the outback just on their own for a few days at a time, as a lot is just sitting around the surface if you have an idea of where to look.
Cottesloe is mentioned a lot as having 'the beach' but there are really so many that stretch forever that I much prefer. I like the northern beaches best, particularly Trigg where you have beautiful water, fantastic surf with quiet days as well, and the prettiest reef areas for snorkeling and exploring. The walk to Scarborough Bch on a warm still summer's day is perfect and the Trigg cafe makes the best coffee. Driving along the winding foreshore looking down on the rocks and on the glimmering ocean never tires. The sunsets are to die for. :)
Western Australia is beautiful, all the beaches are amazing, down south gorgeous, up north rugged, wild and authentic ....gold coast is fun but not real Australia
You both should have a look at the southern end of Western Australia like Denmark, Esperence and Albany my favorite parts of Australia. Albany has only 40,000 people and is rich in beauty and native fauna. The water is crystal clear and the most unique colors. Loving the content guys
I was born and raised in albany and can confirm it is still the best place I have ever been, I consider myself to be one of the most priviledged in the world and I will forever be grateful
Yes the South West is so unique. The Karri Forest, 100 Mile Beach, Lucky Bay just too many beautiful places and unique like Wave Rock. Come and enjoy and remember to treat my home with respect 🙏
@@allysonauld3416 with all due respect my intentions are of non invasive reasons. Harmony with mother earth and peace of mind is my utmost desires. I need healing after 50 years on the eastern coast. Thank you for your caring nature for mother nature
Alot of people who come to Australia think Sydney or Melbourne is the places to holiday and don't even know that Perth exists, FACT, Perth or Western Australia has way more to offer. 👍🤠 WEST IS BEST ✌
Started my life in Perth, the first 12 yrs, then Port Hedland for the next 27 yrs (a 1 1/2 yr stint in Townsville Qld), now live in south west of WA .Best beaches, climate, nature,(wine) and people in Aussie.
The whole coast of WA is beautiful beaches, they just showed 1 of many in Perth. The Gold Coast is a long beach with high rise buildings all along it, as I remember it. This just showed a glimpse of Perth’s beauty. I have lived east and west in Australia and the whole country is beautiful and so diverse. WA has the advantage of taking up a complete side of the country so from the Kimberley to the Great Southern there is a myriad of diverse landscapes, all beautiful in their own way.
Even if they were just doing Perth, I would have put at least one of the nearby national parks in instead of the war memorial- as that was covered by Kings Park. Maybe Serpentine Falls or something
Whilst Rottnest is a beautiful place it has a very dark history with Australia’s First Nations people. Horrific things happened there to the Aboriginal people.
Yeah! Perth born, raised and still living here. It's a great place to live - friendly, quiet and laidback. As is suited for the most isolated city on Earth. Rottnest island is awesome - the quokkas just walk around everywhere. We call it Rotto (pronounced Rot-toe), not "Ro-to" as the video said. The grass seating by Cottesloe is the best place to have fish and chips.
At the war memorial near the eternal flame are 2 semi circular concrete benches that are constructed in such a way that if you whisper at one end you can hear it at the other .
Those trees look like lemon scented gums or they might be some similar species. If they are lemon scented gums the leaves have a strong lemony scent and walking through the leaf litter stirs up the very pleasant aroma. The bark is smooth and white coloured because these trees shed their bark at one time each year. It comes off in layers from all oner the trunk and large branches leaving a smooth white trunk.
Born in Perth and love it. I’ve lived in Europe and the States for study but the thing I most love about Perth is the lifestyle. Great weather, great environment and it’s safe. Also the diversity when you consider the rest of the state. The only thing I miss is snow in winter.
We have plenty of gold in Australia. Perth has the main gold refinery and we export $30 billion worth each year. The Perth mint is definitely worth a visit.
I live in Perth and I have been to pretty much all of these places and never thought about how cool they were. I mean, amazing wineries and stylish bell towers look amazing through a camera, but driving to work or the Stirling Ranges, it's just kilometres of rows and rows of grape vines and loud noises that get drowned out by surrounding buildings.
My highschool in Victoria had a old Prison in it/under it. Used to do "ghost tours" in the under ground. They've done it up as a theater now I think as it became unsafe.
I live 2mins from the swan valley and at a certain time of the year some wineries allow grapes picking as an activity .I find that the green grapes aren’t as sweet as the store ones. The nice building is the QT hotel and appartments. Perth has amazing beaches and great weather!!
I am from Perth and in Sydney today. The weather is magnificent here now. Just like it has been in Perth for the last couple of weeks Hope the rain holds off for another week...
The trees lining the entrance into Kings Park are called white gums. I went to an art installation there one summer, and they projected images onto the huge tree trunks, and other vegetation throughout the park. It was spectacular. The war memorial is inside the park overlooking the city and river. It’s a beautiful tribute, and a very peaceful place of contemplation. The Fremantle prison tour is great. I once went to the night tour, and they threw a dummy from the top storey, and it scared the s$@t out of me. Rottnest Island is beautiful, and there is a hop on - hop off bus, but no cars, except for work vehicles, so it’s cycling or the bus for transport. The quokka’s are really that cute (look up quokka selfie). Btw, it’s pronounced Ro-toe, not Row-tow, to the locals. Cottesloe Beach is really that lovely, and I spent much of my childhood and teen years, at or nearby that beach in summers. The building is a tea house, with bathrooms and change rooms on the bottom floor. We used to swim to the pylon and dive off. We sometimes go and sit on the grassed terrace and have fish and chips on a weekend evening. It’s a great spot to sit if you don’t want to get sandy, whilst visiting the beach. My husband is originally from Ohio, and he loves living here. We have lived in the US, NZ and here, and we’ll never live anywhere else. He works in the mining industry. The penguins are cute, and we usually go there when we have tourist visitors. There are a few wine regions around the southwest of Western Australia, aside from Swan Valley, and you’ll find some of the best wines in the world here. There are also many breweries and distillers dotted about the wine regions also. We’re all about catering to everyone’s taste. The building of which you had questions about the windows, is the Ritz Carlton. There’s a nice roof top bar up there (around the spot where you’d like to live Phezz 😂). The views of the city are very nice from the South Perth foreshore, especially at night. You really should visit. If you can tolerate an extremely hot climate, come in January or February, otherwise come any other time of the year. The people of Perth love public transport, and it’s one of the best I’ve used around the world. The seafood is superb, and you won’t find mercury an issue around here. Perth is way better than the Gold Coast. See ya when you get here 👋
Perth is paradise to me have been many cities in the world But Perth feels is home beautiful peaceful safe and friendly . And the weather is the best 💗💯💗
3:28 "I want to rub my face against one of those trees" I just did a quick check... No one in the history of human civilisation has ever said those words in that order before. Well done, son.
Not sure what those trees are (I'm over in Victoria now, so I can't go and check), but we have several with smooth bark like that, including lemon-scented gum (crush the leaves and they smell of lemon).
Perth is my home, Have to love it, the weather is just the best here. Rottnest island has no cars, you either walk it or hire a bike. That openness of buildings at Elizabeth Quay - the buildings are still getting built in that area.
I live in Perth it is very laid back and happy you get the chance visit heaps more to do than just in this tourist video. Gold coast is georgous as well. Australia is beautiful.
theres some like sunken in and diffrent size and also looks diffrent from how lights hitting, one tower is residential one is hotel, and have 4 storeys underground, i delivered the glass on the first 5 levels on the ritz they call them the podium. now am working in windows on boats for last couple years . they only finished those towers in the last year or so.
It’s better over here in Perth, just as many and as beautiful beaches as the Gold Coast, but less people with less ego, and we get the beach sunsets 👍🏼
the 'tourist bureua' at cottesloe beach is actually just a couple of cafes/restaurants and a dodgy changing room and at the bottom part facing the beach it's where the lifesaving club keeps some of their jet skis
You should totally check out New Zealand … I’m a Kiwi living in Perth since 2011, and although it’s stunning here and I love it, I miss NZ like crazy … Thanks for this though; it’s nice hearing your opinions!⚜️❤️👊🏼
I have always lived 2 mins away from the Swan Valley. Pinelli, sandalfords vineyards etc, Funk cider, Feral brewery and loads more are down the road. We don't get a lot of rain, our summers are usually boiling bloody hot.
As a resident of Perth WA, I can confirm it's is far superior to the gold coast, much more pristine, beaches are cleaner , economy stronger. Gold coast does have its own personality for sure and is a cool place to visit but Perth hands down best city .
Aye mate, are you able to tell me about the housing crisis in Perth? Is it really that bad? I'm a Perthie myself and am stuck in the USA, i want to be here but i want to be back home but if i can't get a house then it isn't worth it
@@auzziecrunt8538 hi there just seen this message sorry, I know the feeling being an kiwi expat myself , at the moment as far as I know it is pretty competitive rental market at the moment, but if you go further out there are places available, just not close to the city , but that depends on what your after hope that helps
You should also visit the Roundhouse prison in Fremantle. It was constructed to house the convicts. Quokka share the cutest ever. However, if threatened it will sacrifice its baby to the predators. It’s a Cafe and Restaurant. Indiana’s is a luxurious restaurant. At Cottesloe on the beach they also have Sculptures by the Sea. In Kings Park near the War Memorial is the Whispering Walls. The Arch is a water fountain the children can play under. From the edge/shore of the Swan River up to St George’s Terrace it’s all reclaimed land. Perth is 100% better. Perfect for raising children.we have beautiful marina’s. you can literally cycle along the coastline. We don’t build on our beaches. We have the lowest Virus infection and hospitalisation rates. In the North of Western Australia we have Broome where you can ride Camels, buy fresh water pearls, by Aboriginal Art and more. Even further North you have Wyndham and Kakadu which is stunning. It has some of the most beautiful natural billabongs, rock formations, rock drawings, flora and Fauna. You can also book to stay in Kakadu Glamping.
North of Perth we have the Alkimos Shipwreck from the 19th Century, Yanchep National Park and Whitemans Park where you can picnic with the wildlife, Lancelin, Jurien Bay (Where I was born), Geraldton, Kalbarri, Monkey Mia (where you can feed the Dolphins), beautiful rock formations, Carnarvon (where you can walk on the lake, they grow Mangoes, Bananas, 1 mile Jetty and I dare you to try to walk it. The wind is way to strong). So all are welcome to our beautifully stunning state. South of Perth we have Busselton, Bridgetown, Manjimup, Boyanup, Margaret River Augusta, Hamlin Bay, Walpole, Mt Barker, Albany, Esperance and many many more beautiful towns.
Perth, Brisbane and the Gold Coast are the most American Australian cities: in Perth, this is due to the planning system. Each boom has fed into further growth of the car-dependent suburbs. For those seeking a safe and easy suburban lifestyle, Perth has everything. It is also the sunniest city in Australia. Perth has American-style freeways But we drive on the old roman chariot way on the left, reins in the lefthand sword in the right hand.
Your story on Fremantle Prison has strong US connection. In 1876 Six Fenian prisoners escaped from the jail and were rescued by a American merchant vessel the Catapla parked just off the coast. The authorities gave chase but gave up when the ship was in international waters The West Australian government didn't make much of fus because they had become America's problem. However, one escapee later became the Sheriff of San Franciso while another was appointed to the post of New Bedford Port Inspector.
We learned about that back in primary school, there is a song about it called the Catalpa and it is still how I remember the events.....they escaped on Perth Regatta Day, so there was no suspicion of extra boats in the area and just sailed off laughing while it took a while for authorities to notice that some of the prisoners had escaped from a place that was thought to be pretty impossible to escape from.
Some of the vision in this doesn’t match the commentary. The Perth Mint does have a one tonne coin. Check their web site. And it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in town. The building at 7:40 is the surf club where the life savers hang out, and has had a tea room/ cafe upstairs. Cottesloe is not the best beach in Perth afaic. Fyi, there’s a LOT more beaches in Perth than the one in this video…. I’ll take a Perth beach over the Gold Coast anytime!
Guys, the place right on Cottesloe Beach was once the Indiana Teahouse (not sure what it is now) was a great place to go and watch the sunset while you had dinner...if you could get a table on the balcony.
My husband and I just returned from a trip around the world. As beautiful as America, Canada and Europe is, we felt very grateful to be able to call Perth home. We have wonderful beaches and parks, amazing weather and very low unemployment rates. If any American made the journey out west, I would recommend a weekend trip down to yallingup or Margaret River and also a day spent in Fremantle.
Yes guys the gum trees are very smooth, so you can rub your face on the bark. Western Australian gums have beautiful red blossoms. Perth is very slow-paced and HOT like DRY HOT in the summer. Burning! The Gold Coast is as you said more Miami vibe... Chill; relaxed' Yuppy very new money. Sydney and Melbourne are old money. Sydney is busy high paced energy. Melbourne is slower. You both have kids.... you should check out our Bush Fairies or Gum Nut babies.... May Gibbs is the author.
The building on the beach is a beach pavilion used in the olden days for people to get changed into their cozzies: Rottnest and Cottesloe beach home of the great white shark~~
The building on Cottesloe beach isn’t an information centre 😂 it’s a public restroom/change room at the bottom, and when you walk up the steps on the side, it leads to a restaurant.
Lived in Perth for a couple of years, a long time ago, it is so damn beautiful over there, but the pace is much slower (I'm from Melbourne) and I was much younger then, so I got bored and homesick, but I would happily live there now that I'm a bit older, it would be paradise but finding work would be the issue.
You probably wouldn't recognise Perth now depending on how long ago you were there.. It's lost its country town feeling. It's basically the same size as Brisbane now
@@psychedelicprawncrumpets9479 Yeah, my sister lives there, Wanneroo. That's why I went over initially. I've been back to visit a lot, the pace is still slower than here, but now it is a good thing to me. W.A. is perfection.

Please react to the "Kimberley Region" in Western Australia. Just another one of the many unique places to visit in our beautiful state. Be prepared for the drive though.
My bloodline comes from the Kimberley, go up there every now and then, have a few drone videos from my last trip a few years ago, absolutely stunning region, yet to get to the bungle bungles...
There are no cars on Rottnest Island apart from employee and utility staff etc so if you can't ride a bike then ur kinda screwed😂😂 but in saying that there are buses that take you on tours and there's an old train to take you to the top of one of the higher hills. The military and colonial history is very interesting. The underground military tunnel tours are a must. The quokkas are gorgeous and super friendly. The pristine waters and secluded bays are perfect for snorkling and scuba diving. I used to work on Rottnest Island and it truly is such a beautiful, wonderful, interesting historical place to visit. There are lots of accommodation options from camping to self contained cabins to hotels etc.
Many of us Perth folk refer to ourselves as “ Perthlings”. Perth is truly stunning. It’s very laid back but there’s lots of interesting things going on. It’s not as brash and loud as other cities in Australia. Just understatedly cool.
@@allysonauld3416 hehe. Ye I think it’s a nicer description than Perthites or Perthians. …. Sandgropers of course a long used phrase to refer to all western Australians in general.
This makes me appreciate living here. I'm 5 mins from Penguin Island. They should have shown more of the island itself, it's gorgeous. Plus the whole coast line there, Seal Island, Point Peron. Also, walk that sand bar at your own risk, people have been swept away from not checking the tides. Also worked at a winery in the Swan Valley. And the rest of the state is stunning as well.
I opened up a gold and silver monthly savings account for my baby at the Perth Mint. International people can make Depository accounts with the mint too.
So hard to live in Western Australia right. On one hand I would love to share what I have experienced, discovered and can enjoy but on the other hand I kind of feel like just agreeing, telling you guys and others Yep, Goldcoast is great, x y or z too, go there. Nothing to see here ha ha. Man, the miles upon miles of secluded beaches I have driven on is ... it's CRAZY!
WA born and raised- fun fact about Rotto and bikes, is that civilians/tourists aren't actually allowed to drive on the island! There's some rangers/maintenance people with cars and there's a tour bus around the island, but everyone else has to walk or cycle, so you can either bring your bike across on the ferry or hire one when you get there
WA has some great trees - the huge white gums like in Kings Park are beautiful and are smooth and are good to hug; - Perth & more importantly Fremantle is my Hometown and it is lovely - lots of sun and water - and we are very far from anywhere - many Perth People find it easier and cheaper to go to Bali than other parts of Aus. - 5 hour flight to Singapore & 4.5 hour flight to Sydney. Most people on the East Coast never visit Perth
Love to answer some questions of yours!! In Elizabeth Quay (previously Esplanade), the "building" is actually different shades of purple. Those are apartments. Also, there is another building right next to it, which is a hotel. The apartments and the hotel are owned by the same group. Also, the Perth Mint was the place where the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games medals were made. They also have a place where you can see gold getting melted and shaped into a bar. Perth is also one of the best places for sunshine. Although, I personally wouldn't say Cottesloe is the best beach. There are many others like City Beach, Scarbourgh and Trigg. Also, WA is much better than the Eastern States (obviously). Also, the Perth Mint's 1t coin, is massive. Rottnest island actually has quite a horrific history. It was used as a prison for Aboriginal (Australian indigenous people). Many aborigines passed there, and many of the aboriginal people refuse to go there. Also, Rottnest Island does not allow you to live there nor drive a car. The famous 'quokka selfie' is also a big reason why many people go there. the quokkas are named the happiest animals in the world, due to the way their mouths are. At penguin island, you can not stay there or even ride a bike. It is also very hard to find a penguin in the wild there, so the discovery centre is recommended. At Fremantle Prison, you can also stay a night there. Also, the Perth and Swan region is wadjack country, home to the Noongar (nuung-a) people of Perth.
My home town. It feels like a giant country town even though the population is over 2 million. The isolation is a pain, it takes so long to get anywhere from Perth but we’re used to that. The weather is near perfect, the same as Southern California.
As a person who lives in Perth I appreciate this 💖 but it's not a tourist destination, the CBD anyways. I would recommend to look at Down South Perth 👌 so stunning
The building you want to live in is the Ritz Carlton, only new in Perth and only one in Australia (so far). Perth is very spread out and there is so much more to add to this video.
The windows you pointed out just change from the light protecting the people living in them and the windows also fully open. one of the penthouses sold for 7m and the other had to be fully reconstructed for a client cause no one else offered to buy it.
Those trees are white gums, as they age they shed their top bark and reveal beautiful smooth white trunks. This is not the tree they make cork out of. Penguin is just a mile or so from my house here in Western Australia. The beaches around Rockingham are gorgeous and see the same sunset Cottesloe beach does 😉. You can watch from the boardwalk restaurants while you enjoy a great dinner. There is just as much beach stuff to do in Perth and the south west as there is in the East. Perth is a relaxed very clean city and these videos usually concentrate most on the city and north city.
Have to agree with Mr D! The Swan Valley vineyards are ok, but if you head down south to the Margaret River region, vineyards and wineries down there are much nicer. Love you videos, please visit Australia! :)
If you want to immerse yourself in the Izzy life watch episodes of “Better Homes & Gardens” and “Getaway”. Each week showcases places to go, what to see, foods, animals.
I live in Perth; I’ve never met anyone from over east who comes to Perth and doesn’t immediately love it more than Melbourne or Sydney. It’s much quieter, more relaxed, significantly less busy and just generally cleaner and nicer.
My old man grew up on a hill overlooking Fremantle Prison, he remembers riding his bike past chain gangs on the outside walls doing chores. This was only in the 60s.
Kiwi in Perth, after living in Auckland and Brisbane- both quite busy citys it took a while to adjust to the slower pace of Perth but it is my favourite now, especially as I really love travelling to the SW of the state. Aussie truely is a very lucky country and feel privileged to be given great opportunities as opposed to struggling to live financially in NZ
Hey Shiltzenberger if you only base your opinion only on surf breaks Perth may not be the best. But last time I surfed at Bondi Beach you had to compete with the blind mullets well as crowds of swimmers and surfers. Not many of the big cities have big waves and the West is the same. The best and biggest surfing spots are in the South right across the continent. Beaches like Yalingup and Margaret River and Bells Beach in Victoria. There are some great surfing spots further north of Perth like Kalbarri where you can ride big fast and long waves. Most big cities become big cities because they have safe locations to berth ships enabling trade to occur. For swiming and lazing around, WA has by far the most wide sandy beaches of any state., pristinebeaches that stretch over a 1000 kilometres.
As a Victorian, Perth's beaches are way nicer than the GC. This video doesn't do them justice. I'd argue this video doesn't do Perth justice at all. Love you vids!!
Makes me happy hearing foreigners talking well about my city. I've been here my whole life and its ironic that you guys talk about Gold Coast considering I'm moving there in 2 months!

The Ravensthorpe/Hopetoun & Esperance areas are really beautiful too. Especially the Fitzgerald River National Park. Breathtaking down there.
Wouldn't be to worried about not having been to the ACT . It's a big roundabout shit hole .
South West... The place to be... It's our answer to Martha's vineyard 😂
Cott is fine but, for sure, other beaches in Perth Metro have more to offer ♡

Well isn't this a pleasant surprise, seeing my home being appreciated this way. It's lovely to see Perth through the eyes of our American friends 🤘💜🤘
Perth is deffo very happy and fun... it's my home town and I love it. Also this video did not showcase how amazingly stunning all our beaches are.
The trees at 3:50 are dedicated to soldiers lost in WW1 and WW2, each tree along the roads in Kings Park are dedicated to a soldier
I wrote the same thing before seeing your comment, doesn’t matter, i look at it as confirmation that your story is fact!
7:47 I actually believe that building has change rooms, life guard stuff on the lower level. And the top is a restaurant and tea rooms
The grass seating by Cottesloe is the best place to have fish and chips.
if you think its a great place you need to travel more than to BALI Perth is a crime ridden arrogant city ua-cam.com/video/BNw5C4yPa7U/v-deo.html
I'm from Perth and it's a myth that it's the most isolated city in the world. Honolulu and Auckland more so from memory.
now that they have done the Scarborough foreshore it equals Cottlesloe for watching the sunset eating fish and chips, you can even have a dance there
@@michaelmcphee2930 Is this a joke? Go double check your map lol.
@@michaelmcphee2930 I believe most isolated city is based on it's proximity to other cities.
At the war memorial near the eternal flame are 2 semi circular concrete benches that are constructed in such a way that if you whisper at one end you can hear it at the other .
Legit works well
Those trees look like lemon scented gums or they might be some similar species.
Bluff knoll...haha
We have plenty of gold in Australia. Perth has the main gold refinery and we export $30 billion worth each year. The Perth mint is definitely worth a visit.
BS ... More like 50 million
When we visited Perth, we were able to ring the bells in the Bell Tower. Cool experience
There are bicycle tracks all around Perth and Fremantle, including along the beaches.
The big building at Cottesloe Beach is the Surf Life Saving Club
I live 2mins from the swan valley and at a certain time of the year some wineries allow grapes picking as an activity .I find that the green grapes aren’t as sweet as the store ones.
The nice building is the QT hotel and appartments. Perth has amazing beaches and great weather!!
I am from Perth and in Sydney today. The weather is magnificent here now. Just like it has been in Perth for the last couple of weeks
Hope the rain holds off for another week...
See ya when you get here 👋
We sure live in the best place in the world ❤️
Perth is paradise to me have been many cities in the world
But Perth feels is home beautiful peaceful safe and friendly .
And the weather is the best 💗💯💗

I would you’d be scratched up for weeks 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m impressed too!
I spent April in Australia and I definitely said I wanted to rub my cheek on a tree at least once a day 😆
Not sure what those trees are (I'm over in Victoria now, so I can't go and check), but we have several with smooth bark like that, including lemon-scented gum (crush the leaves and they smell of lemon).
@@stevenlowe3026 you are spot on, they are lemon scented gums........
That building you like is The Carlton Ritz Hotel and those openings are rooms that have there own balconys

There's a mural on the side of an apartment block on Bannister St about that
We learned about that back in primary school, there is a song about it called the Catalpa and it is still how I remember the events.....they escaped on Perth Regatta Day, so there was no suspicion of extra boats in the area and just sailed off laughing while it took a while for authorities to notice that some of the prisoners had escaped from a place that was thought to be pretty impossible to escape from.
I literally just got home from having lunch at Elizabeth Quay and open UA-cam to this 😂
Also that building on the Cott beach that building is a restaurant and at the bottom is the royal life saving.
It is lovely….but really isolated…..even for Australians. Very clean city and air quality is amazing.
You guys are seriously awesome ! Great personalities and cool vibes ❤️🙌🏾
Wine grapes are a lot sweeter than table grapes...They swell up and the skin bursts due to the amount of juice they contain.
There is not outback on one side, 300km of farmland. Mainly grain - wheat, canola, lupin etc. And sheep, less common. Lots down south
If you like trees check out the Valley of the Giants in Walpole.
The building on Cottesloe beach isn’t an information centre 😂 it’s a public restroom/change room at the bottom, and when you walk up the steps on the side, it leads to a restaurant.
We went to Napa Valley in 2019. The wines in the Swan Valley and Margaret River here are so much better.
I'm born and bred in Perth I've lived north and south of the Swan River and just like you said it is very laid back and chilled

The vineyards near me around Margaret River are always looking for workers, you should try a paid vacation.
The King's Park Ghost Gumtrees are very nice, where I live in Perth there is a whole road lined with those trees before you get to my suburb
As a person who lives in Perth I appreciate this 💖 but it's not a tourist destination, the CBD anyways. I would recommend to look at Down South Perth 👌 so stunning
The building you want to live in is the Ritz Carlton, only new in Perth and only one in Australia (so far). Perth is very spread out and there is so much more to add to this video.
no cars on Rotnest Island
Gold coast is a great holiday spot, perth is the kinda place you never want to leave, especially if you're born there
If you want to immerse yourself in the Izzy life watch episodes of “Better Homes & Gardens” and “Getaway”.
Been to over 30 countries, Perth is my hometown and by far favourite place to live at the moment - it's so beautiful
You guys would also like Denmark WA. It also has the Rising Star Winery and Boston Brewery, both owned by Texan twins
The building in Elizabeth Quay that you guys said you liked is the Ritz Carlton Hotel
The Gold Coast is so common compared to Perth lol. Check out Adelaide that is awesome too.
The big building on Cottesloe Beach is Indiana tearooms built in 1910 for fashional women and their entourage where they would have 'high tea'
An awesome video of Perth that is narrated by someone from England !
On Rottnest Island you have to ride bikes, cars aren’t allowed on the island. So it’s either walk or ride.
The grassed area at 16:48 to the right, was our first airport
3:30 they are ghost gum trees, a (form of Gum tree) planted in remembrance of the fallen soldiers..
3:30 eucalyptus trees, there's probably a ton of them in Los Angeles.
As a Victorian, Perth's beaches are way nicer than the GC. This video doesn't do them justice. I'd argue this video doesn't do Perth justice at all.
Love you vids!!
I agree
Makes me happy hearing foreigners talking well about my city. I've been here my whole life and its ironic that you guys talk about Gold Coast considering I'm moving there in 2 months!
Just a fun fact, rotto island actually doesn’t have ANY private cars, only one bus and ranger cars due to it being a protected nature reserve :)
At the 3.50min all those trees that run along either of the road has an individual name, service number and their unit of every single personnel that died in WW1.
the building on the beach would be a Surf Life Saving Club, they are on most main beaches around the country
Hey you guys should do a vid on Margaret River ,Western Australia.
3 hours from Perth
Pretty please 🙏
I grew up there and love to show it off
