The animal at 5:40 is a cuttlefish! They are amazing at shape-shifting and changing colors. They’re in the same animal group as the squid and the octopus (cephalopods).
I thought octopus?
@@joannemurdock7899 no
I remember finding dried out Cuttlefish on the beach .
100% Cuttlefish. Fantastic creatures.
That bird is a sulphur crested cockatoo. They’re white with a yellow crest and they’re everywhere around Sydney, especially at sunset when they’re all out, looking for dinner. It’s not edited in, it’s real. The sunset is showing up on it’s body and wings.
Just to let you know, the bird is not edited into the scene and the light at that time is natural and makes a white bird with yellow wings glow naturally. The light in most of Australia is always commented on as being unique and is actually described as, and called ' Hollywood Lit ' and a popular place for Hollywood film makers to shoot films. Here there are many bays and inlets covered in natural bushland so birds fly straight across to get to another place. That bird was a parrot called a Corella and there are many parrots and many varieties in Australia and the biggest ones fly the highest. In Western Australia, where I'm from, one of the types of parrot called Galahs, they're pink with a grey back and wings, love to sit on the sand dunes and watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean. Sometimes as a small group, or a pair or just one. It's the only time they are silent and still, j ust gazing at the beautiful view. Parrots are everywhere here, in the wild, parks, visiting residential gardens, shopping centre trees, roadside verges and city trees. It was recently discovered that all the parrots in the whole world originated from the ancient landmass that was pre Australia and migrated to the other landmasses of modern day countries.
Also you don't have to be rich to own a modest boat. Some people choose to live in a modest home in order to spend their savings on their love of recreational boating.
I like seeing the perspective you guys give out, very interesting. 🙂🙃
I believe the bird in flight was a Cockatoo as it looks bigger than a Corella.
This dude is correct.
I forgot to add, the raised bridge is in a spot called The Spit. Just down the hill from Neutral Bay.
Part of my daily commute to & from work.
Also had the option of catching the Manly ferry across Sydney Harbour, passing the Opera House into Circular Quay.
Really inexpensive weekly tickets to encourage people to.use public transport.
4:50 is the Hawkesbury River, which is part of a massive river system. It's all public and there is no such thing as private marina areas. You can boat and fish wherever you like (except of course in some of the marine reserves).I live in a town on one of the ridges in the distance.
Not private marinas, but not free either😉
Usually mangrove areas are no wash zones for boats, so very low speeds
The Northern beaches is my home. So glad you guys love it. I'm from Freshwater, once called Harbord. It's the best beach in Sydney and the home of 🏄♂️ surfing. In 1915 Duke Kahanamoko surfed fir the first time at Freshwater Beach.
Do you parents own a home there?
The southern beaches are my home. So glad you guys loved it. I'm from Cronulla formerly called Cronulla. It has THE BEST BEACH in Sydney, being 4.8 kilometres long, and the home of surfing. Everyone has surfed here at one pointing time or another! But we also have; diving; sailing; windsurfing; kite-surfing; kayaking; jet skiing; fishing; water skiing; swimming - everywhere; Ocean swimming; Ocean rock pools, and that's just in the water. On land we have: sunbathing; restaurants; bush walks; national parks; freshwater crystal pools; water falls; abseiling on cliffs; caves; historic memorials, where Captain Cook landed, no where else has that; etc. etc. When you come over, drop me a line here and I shout you guys a beers and take to to a stellar place for lunch where it doesn't get ANY better! Cheers, GB
@@gbsailing9436 not as good as northern beaches
@@jetpark3743 Mate I've been there, and many Many others. There is a reason I keep coming back here. We have it ALL! SO many beaches to choose from!
🤣 Peace🥂
Hello from Collaroy Plateau!
Very nice footage. It's amazing what you can do with a drone and some skill. The Northern Beaches area of Sydney is quite beautiful. I grew up in the southern area and haven't been exposed much to that part of Sydney. It's quite spectacular. I believe that could be Barenjoey Lighthouse(?). I don't believe the bird was edited in later because Cockatoos are everywhere. I could have filmed one like that outside of my apartment.
There are 21 surf beaches with surf clubs on the Northern Beaches & a few unpatrolled beaches like Shelly & Turrimetta. In addition there are harbour & Pittwater beaches as well. There are 15 rock pools on the Northern Beaches. The golf club is Long Reef & one of the cheapest to play at in the area. The lighthouse is Barrenjoey Lighthouse at North Palm Beach which overlooks Pittwater. The Spit bridge opens so tall sailing boats can pass underneath. The Northern Beaches of Sydney is often referred to as “Gods Country”. Wouldn’t live anywhere else 😍
That's Long Reef Golf club ...You showed ,North head.Middle head and South head that enters into Sydney Harbor ..Taronga Zoo.. The Bridge that was raised is known as Spit Bridge and has a massive Marina there known as D' Albora Marine .. If you make it down the Spit "S" and survive you cross the Spit Bridge you are on your way to the Northern beaches.... From Fairy Bower to Manly, Queenscliff, Freshwater. Curl Curl , Dee Why , Long Reef .Collaroy on your way to Palm Beach ... It really is Gods Country down there As a Sydney Sider i am blessed to have this on my door step
Northern beaches is where you find Palm beach where "Home and Away" series were filmed. Also a lot of bays like Akuna Bay at the Kuringai Chase National Park...Collaroy Plateau is so beautiful spot too to see the ocean and the suburbs surrounds it
You can actually see Barrenjoey Lighthouse from Palm Beach. That's the sandstone base lighthouse early on in the footage. Very pretty area, but a fair way from the Sydney CBD.
Guys we do have all kinds of "Whales" swimmimg off our shores but we've NOT named the state after them. LOL.
Yeah, named after the country not the mammal!!
I titled it on my iPhone 🤣🤣 autocorrect did it -Miles
@@TheCommodity I hate my iPhone for doing that all the time.
I don't think it matters where you go, every beach in Australia is amazing and unique in its own way.
Greetings from Sydney. The bird was a sulfur crested cockatoo, which are extremely common in Sydney. It's real.
Thank you for sharing my beautiful neighborhood. Yes, the ocean pools are all filled with natural ocean water and cleaned every 2nd week by the local council. The lighthouse is in Palm Beach and open to public to walk up to ;) Bit of a hike. - Hahahahahhaha - Love your Nemo Reference. I do live next to Kangaroo Lane. It's a thing! - And no, Cockatoos are here everywhere. It was REAL. Trust me.
Cockatoos are not afraid of anything
Haha I live one street over from a Kangaroo Road in Collaroy Plateau! The reference was great 😂
I don't wanna be picky but we spell neighbourhood with the our, not the American spelling... This is why we are losing our identity & becoming so Americanised
I love the giant sea turtles. The beach I live on is a well kept secret, we have 20 Kilometre’s of giant sea turtles coming home to lay their eggs. They always go back to where they hatched. Two kinds were on the endangered list but in the last 5 years the volunteers that look after them 24/7 have taken them off the endangered list. Every hour day and night another volunteer takes over. One year was really hot and they found this kills all of the males. Now if it gets hot each nest has a shade house and a volunteer to water the sand over the eggs. They lay over 100 eggs and on average only 3 survive until they are adults. Our numbers are now pushing 50%.
They know when every nest is due to hatch and if they are a day late then Mama turtle has buried them too deep. The volunteers dig them up but not fully, then those tiny little guys push through and run for the water.
Is your incorrect spelling of New South Whales deliberate ? It’s Wales, as in the country 😉 Lots of beaches have a pool - usually ocean water- so you can do laps etc. Thanks for this reaction and Happy Easter.
I titled it on my iPhone 🤣🤣 autocorrect did it -Miles
There isn't an actual 42 Wallaby Way in Sydney, but there is a 42 Rock Wallaby Way, Blaxland NSW 2774. Blaxland is in the Blue Mountains.
I can see the Blue Mountains from the roof of my flats, also a place well worth the travel
There is one in New Beith in QLD but not Sydney.
@@jenniferhill1882 you're right. Wallaby way New Beith is a 2 min drive from me.
@@gregbushell4613 what a gorgeous view you've got.
@@Gottahavemycoffee lol the only good thing about living in Blacktown is the view 🤣
You guys REALLY REALLY need to do a reaction to Esperance, Western Australia. By "salty wings" it is INSANELY beautiful!
Tru dat friend… I’ve been around the but I still call WA beaches the BEST in the world
You can stay in the lighthouse keeper's house at Cape Byron, Australia's most easterly point. The lighthouse is Australia's most powerful, and a true work of art. It's unmanned now.
Baranjoey lighthouse at Palm Beach Sydney. Palm beach is used to film the Aussie soap opera “Home and Away”
There are two paths up to the lighthouse. The easy paved way, and the worn path up across the rocks.
Found it funny when you saw all the boats and said “rich people”…the average person here has the capacity to own a boat…especially living along the coast…how big it is that may depend…but boat ownership is very common amongst Aussies
Most people don't have the capacity to rent a marina berth as well, though😉
@@Merrid67play I guess us Victorians are a lot better off…😂…my point was boat ownership and the availability of it as a norm in the expenses of Australians that may want that…of course not everyone
Long Reef divides the waters off Sydney when you take a line from there past the small islands at the north of NZ. Those to the south are part of the Tasman Sea, but those to the north are of the Pacific Ocean
When you guys pulled up at 6:17 to talk about 42 Wallaby Way Lol. What you see is Manly, Ferry at top Left. Old Manly hospital towards the top right. And Q-Station (North Head) bottom Right, One of the most haunted locations in Australia. Manly is popular for the young and hip to go and hang out. Very busy at times. The Lighthouse at 7:23 is Grotto Point Lighthouse and yes one can walk to there and visit.
Just a note... You guys seemed so relaxed watching this, You were almost laid back.
4:42 is Broken Bay, with Lion Island in the distance. It is the next “harbour” North of Sydney harbour. The North side of Broken Bay is the “Central Coast”.
Also some nice beaches along the Nepean river … which flows into the Hawkesbury.
I’ve lived at Cronulla beach , dee why beach , country towns. Now the beautiful BLUE MOUNTAINS. Which I’ve rediscovered during Covid. Just gorgeous
Collaroy Beach is a surfing beach in the northern suburbs of Sydney and it has a shark proof pool in the sea so you can swim there and not be worried about the big sharks coming in. I know they had to retrieve a small baby shark once (as they have surf lifesavers at that beach and it was on TV). I think what you were seeing was the Collaroy Beach shark proof pool.
One issue I run into when travelling around parts of australia with people from overseas, I try Gerringong Boat ramp, its a nice place, but i never rated it high on my list of tourist attractions, but I go there and the people from overseas seemed super impressed by the large area of rocks and the ocean pool etc I think i might just be too used to these places.
There isn’t a wallaby way in Sydney, but the study that Pixar did prior led to a lot of accuracy (e.g. they chose sea gulls and based their behaving after the recon trip).
The bird at 3:00 isn’t likely to be edited in. There is an abundance of bird life in Sydney and almost every second drone flight I do will have parrots (mainly silver crested cockatoos) flying around the drone. Annoy one and it will call a flock in.
About 2/3 of the northern beaches area (and north shore) is protected as a national park. Because if this there is endless green and bush walks aplenty
Sorry, Glenn, they are called Sulphur Crested Cockatoos because their crests are the colour of sulphur, yellow. But you are quite correct about the abundance of wildlife, and especially birds, in a city of almost 5 million people.
@@keithmottram8755 you're absolutely correct. And I was at the time - typing sulphur - but UA-cam autocorrected Sulphur to Silver.
Argh! I didn't correct the autocorrect.
Further north is also very beautiful, then further north again for Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast. Just keep going north lol you never run out of beautiful beaches! Then to Great Barrier Reef which is unbelievable! Plus all the way up you’ve got great places not far inland, rainforests further up north from Gold Coast northward to past Cairns!
Lots of great craft breweries on the Northern Beaches too you can do a bit of a brewery crawl down the coast. Did it for a mate's buck's (bachelor's) weekend back in 2019.
Oh noice Nemo ref! Lol, point of lighthouse is that boats DON'T go there!
That spot you circle near the light house I have been to many times, including being there to watch the sunrise. Was meant to go for sunrise again just a few weeks ago but it was cancelled two weeks in a row because of rain.
There are a few “Wallaby Ways” in Australia. The nearest to Sydney is in Tura Beach in the South Coast of NSW.
At 6;59 that suburb is called Manly where I grew up. Where the ligh house was that is called Palm Beach. Tgere is also a movie called Palm Beach & the scenery is beautiful
Wow that takes me back to growing up around Manly and Freshwater beaches in the 60s and 70s, tripe to Paul beach, sailing around Newport and lion Island, catching the Manly Ferry to work in the city and loving days when a big swell and the Heads would throw it around and send sheets of spray 20 to 30 feet into the air... it really is that breath taking beautiful on even the average day!
I have flown over this area early in the mornings in winter when the Hawkesbury river is covered in fog with just the high riverbanks stickup. Spectacular in its own way.
the beginning until about 4 mins is the Northern Beaches - where I live. It is beautiful to live here there are many beaches - most with Ocean pools attached so people can swim laps. the golf course is called Long Reef Golf Course and the lighthouse at the 4 min mark is called Barrenjoey Lighthouse, on one side is Palm Beach and on the other is Pittwater and then the Hawkesbury river over the back
The Golf Course is Long Reef ...the wind is your master , cracked my best drive ever there and after the wind only made 100 yards . Best beaches , national parks surround , gods country.
There is a Rock Wallaby Way in Blaxland NSW.. also at Yerriyong and Tura Beach.. there is quite a few around Australia..lol
There might not be a 42 Wallaby Way in Sydney but there's one Brisbane, in the suburb of New Beith about 20 minutes from where I live.
Yep that’s long reef golf course I’m from the beaches at 3:16
Along the beaches each beaches have rock pools
There were lovely views there of the northern beaches, Middle Harbour, Manly and Pittwater. I love going to the marinas, you can get the best fish and chips and just hang out on the deck with a drink and live the life of a millionaire for a few dollars. That’s the great thing about Australia, it’s very egalitarian and a lot of those ocean golf courses are public courses, again for just a few dollars to be enjoyed by all.
I don't have to imagine it, it is where I grew up and, yes surfing with dolphins and walking up to the lighthouse to have picnics. (Oh there is a 42 Wallaby Way in QLD
Yes we have streets named after our plants and animals almost every town and city. I'm sure somewhere in America there's a street or a road with Rattlesnake in it's name.
Gotta love seeing my hometown! Northern Beaches is one of the most beautiful places to live
Turtle wasn’t tagged, that was its Blutooth mike for its phone
There's a Rock Wallaby Way at Blaxland New South Wales which is at the base of the Blue mountains west of of Sydney. It's about 15mins away from where I live by car. Blaxland can be classed as Sydney as it's at the base of the mountains and the suburbs come out this far.
The lighthouse is at Palm Beach ... u can walk up to it and apprecaite the view
I grew up on the Northern Beaches,Dee Why,Collaroy and Narrabeen,
That lighthouse is Palm Beach...I am there all the time, the sand is ORANGE. On of my favourite Sydney beaches...That lighthouse does have tours...
Cuttlefish
That is Long Reef Golf course. Not that expensive at all. Also have a great clubhouse with really great breakfasts. I take my dog's to the dog park there all the time.
I live there its Awesome the views are sensational ! Cheers Guys
The golf feild is just a regular feild and it is not too expensive in comparison to other feilds.
every city has a Wallaby Way rd, or rock wallaby way st, There is a rock wallaby way in Blaxland NSW
‘Look at all those Rich people’…. Understatement of the year. Aussies and especially Sydneysiders are LOADED! You could throw rocks randomly in Sydney and you are hitting multi millionaires. In fact, having less then a million in Sydney is odd.
Sydney is probably the most beautiful city in the the world but even out in the Western Suburbs a family home is well above $1mil these days. Love this city bur when it finally comes time to settle down I'll defs be looking somewhere else. Plenty of beauty to be enjoyed all up and down the NSW coast for far less than you'd pay in Sydney. It's finding a job outside of Sydney that's the hard part.
There is a 42 Wallaby Way though in the outter western suburbs of Sydney
That seemingly inaccessible light house “… is located on Grotto Point in Balgowlah Heights a 10 minute walk from end of Cutler Road through Sydney Harbour National Park and is part of the Manly Scenic Walkway.”
The reason they have those netted off pools is on account of sharks, stingers ( jellyfish ) etc
There is an actual 42 Wallaby Way, Blieth in Brisbane!
Cuttle fish! They change colours like an octopus. So cool!
Apparently , tourists coming to find Wallaby Way in Sydney is a thing . I dunno if there IS a Wallaby Way in Sydney , I just know that it's a popular tourist destination .
44 wallaby way has several locations in Qld alone. Also wallaby road
At 7.30 maybe by boat access!
The is a 42 Rock Wallerby Way but it's not near the water.
I Live in Coffs harbour it is paradise on earth. Look it up we have kangaroos in the streets at Safety Beach every morning. Loved this video so true of Northern Beaches used to live not far from pitt water. Beautiful place. Oh by the way its a cuttlefish we have lots here as well as Dugongs look that up too. BTW we say walk to things not hike. A hike is like a 450km walk lol
I really do live in a beautiful city
The bird is a cockatoo and they're everywhere
I live about 5-7 hours drive away from these places, but it's definitely worth the travel ❤
this is where i live, not many other places in the world i would want to live than right here
not a golf course, old quarantine facility from decades ago.

Hi watching from Singapore
The lighthouse on the point is Barrenjoey & Wallaby Way is fictional & does not exist. The bird is real. A sulphur crested cockatoo. One of the many types of cockies that are native here.
We do name streets after animals/wildlife and plants flowers trees etc

I could ask myself why I'm going to Bali soon when we have so many great beaches and our natural Sydney Harbour. I think I must have rocks in my head after just watching the vid and reminding me of what's here... lol. But hey, I haven't been to Bali too! lol (the song)
You’ll enjoy Bali. The lousy beaches, the filth that’s Kuto, the pesky salesmen selling you stuff you don’t want that breaks once you get home. But heh it’s cheap, except for the grog and medical centres. When cruise there we don’t get off.
Never been to Bali but from what I hear accommodation is very cheap compared to any resorts in Australia. I'm thinking of going one day for that reason alone.
@@goaway9977 there is cheap accommodation there but there is also compound with 5 & 6 star hotels. The backpackers hotels in Australia are equally as cheap, great beaches and cities. I been to Bali on the way to a project offshore. You pay your money and take your choice.
