- In this video, PA David Doriguzzi takes you through what's new with the Type 2 Diabetes medication Rybelsus. This video is intended as a supplemental to the full Rybelsus overview video on the @sugarhighchannel found here: • Ozempic in a PILL?! R...
Covered in this video is information including new packaging for Rybelsus, updates to the FDA label, and possible future updates regarding weight loss and cardiovascular protection uses.
Apologies to the folks who already watched this video in it's initial release; I noticed a glitch causing it to freeze around the 3 minute mark so I had to upload a corrected video file.
Thanks for your support, everyone!
@David I just started taking Rybelsus 12/28/23 and so far I am loving it. I have been dealing with type 2 diabetes since I was 45 and I am now 54. I am going on a discovery to see how this performs for me over the next 3 months, so I will give you an update March 1, 2024. Great video and thanks so much for the excellent information.
I currently have great results and saw weight loss although I am not looking for any weight loss. I am looking to build muscle and Rybelsus seems to be helping to keep excess weight off while I build muscle through weight lifting and cardio training. So far nothing bad to say, but I am wondering if I can get off Metformin and just keep Rybelsus and Glipizide. Thanks so much for following up.
@@diygenesissurprised you are still on Glipizide?
Thank you for your thorough content. I just started this medication 2 weeks ago and have lost 8 pounds. I’m also on a low carb diet. I’ve eliminated potatoes, rice and pasta from my diet. I’m looking forward to seeing more results. The cons for me was not getting enough water throughout the day and experiencing headaches. I make sure to constantly drink water now and cut back on the coffee.
Which mg you was taking?
@@user-lc2nf6fo2h 7mg
@@user-lc2nf6fo2hmost likely the 3mg. Cause that’s what they starts you with.
David I have been on Rybelsus for the 30 day 3mg now finishing the 30 day 7 mg and I start my 14 mg tomorrow. I am almost 55 years old and have had type2 since mid 40's and never took meds till 10 months ago or so as it got out of control and diet and exercise wouldn't touch it anymore (A1c) Started metformin 1000mg at night and 4 months it dropped 9.8 a1c to 7.3. Dr wanted to take more metformin of course to get below 7. So 1000 mg am and pm. 4 months later sugar out of control again 7.8 and 278 fasting sugar. I attribute to injury where I couldn't exercise and was snacking more. Doctor flipped out and started Rybelsus and I must say what a difference. lost 15 lbs in 60 day and still losing. My appetite is way down and my pants are loose. I don't and never had monitored my blood sugar so I'm not sure what it is but I can tell you its down under 7 guaranteed. after next 30 days on 14 mg of Rybelsus I will have my 4 month bloodwork done and I will update. I think Rybelsus is a game changer.
Started 3mg Rybelsus for weight loss in March 2024- only side effect at the time was constipation. I’m now on 7mg and no side effects- I’ve included fibre into my diet and occasionally take a mild laxative to help bowel movement.
First week on the 3mg, I’ve lost 6lbs. It works. All my sugar cravings went away overnight and felt like throwing up with just the thought of cookies and cakes that I usually crave.
Woow.
May I know few things.
Are you diabetic ? Can it be used for non diabetics.
What’s ur initial weight. What’s ur weight now.

Dear David,
So happy 😁 to see a new Sugar High video! Excellent and informative content as always - thank you 🙏
Great to have you back on UA-cam it has been a while but well worth the wait 😁
Great job!
Awesome! Thank you!
Welcome back!
Welcome Back!
Come to think of it, I have not seen 'them regular pill bottles' here in England for at least 20 years. Thanks for the video.
Just going to start rybelsus 4/27/2024 starting weight 275 A1c 10.0
I've been on Rybelsus for 10 months. I have lost a solid 35 lbs and lots of inches. I have been trying to fast as well. Hoping to Hit that 40 lb mark soon. Right now I'm trying for the small goal of getting my A1C down below 8. I have labs in a couple of days so here's hoping.
How many mg? I'm starting on 3mg soon
Great advice from this doctor, everything he is saying is true. I have been on it for about 16 months, 7mg from the start. I’m 67 and was diagnosed as T2, 10 years ago. I’m still on Metformin, and a Keto diet (low carb) and exercise to help me lose 40 lbs. I have lost 20 more lbs on Rybelsus, plus I have found what this doctor is saying is true about heart health. I now micro dose my BP & statin meds, and feel great. I need to lose 20 more lbs to be at my goal weight and get my waist under 35”.
Negative about the drug-if I happen to over eat-I have experienced vomiting & diarrhea maybe 3 times the whole time taking it. Makes me think twice about eating & drinking certain foods 🤔
I took 3 1/2 mg, half a pill for 11 days to try it for weight loss. I loved it. Lost 4.9 pounds but mainly inches! I will use this in my tool box to micodose as needed. That said, I watch my diet and exercise regularly.
How much wgt you loose in 1 month
Plz tell is it safe for weight loss...in women and how much wgt will reduce in 1 month
Update please. ? Now weight ? Did you increase the dose ??
Thanks for the info Dan!
I'm just starting out on Rybelsus so I've been reading up on it.
I think the change in packaging is probably more a cultural/user experience thing than a cost/shipping. I'm in Belgium and pretty much all medication come in blister packs, even OTC drugs like aspirin! That's what we're used to. That said, I've also lived in Canada where the "traditional pill bottle" is the norm. Rybelsus comes in simple boxed blister packs here, no additional card booklets.
How are you doing? 😊
Thank you for sharing all these updates.
Actually I always wandered why the oral form wasn’t studied for weight loss so I believe this clinical trial is promising and will offer an easy alternative to obese patients vs injectable form.
Glad you enjoyed it
I don't take Ozempic or Rybelsus currently, but I am very interested.
I already am taking Rybelsus for this reason, FAT AND WEIGHT LOSS ONLY! I just started today though so lets see in 120 days because as you mentioned the first 30 days is low dose zero effect. I will keep a log an update everyone thank you!
How's your weight loss going so far?
Hi, hope youre good. How have you been on Rybelsus?
Thank you so much for sharing your experience on this. I'm struggling to keep my blood sugar with metformin. I really don't want to lose any weight what are my options on that without having hypoglycemia as well. Thank you.
I have to say I used Saxenda for 3 months to lose 2st or 14lbs in weight which I did lose no problem as I had low key/fluctuations in nausea the whole time so it was easy not to eat. I did however have to give up Toujeo LA insulin (LADA diagnosis)) while i took Saxenda because my BG dropped excessively and it was difficult to treat with food or glucose because of the nausea. Either way I could not have done this without a CGM (Dexcom G7)
Thanks a lot for the wonderful video with a lot of information. Is this medication is going to be lifelong or can be stopped after the reduction of Hb1C or can the doctor prescribe other pills in case if I feel it way too expensive to manage.
😮
I most certainly will use Rybelsus for weight control! I have never been able to control my hunger. This drug is a miracle!
Before I started to take rybelsus March 2023 my A1C was 8.2 and now is 6.3
Would love to see what you have to say about Monjaro esp vs Rybelsus/Ozempic.
I'd much rather do the weekly injection. I have to swallow enough pills every day lol. But I understand some people are not comfortable self-administering injections, so it's great to have an oral alternative for delivery.
This is EXACTLY what prompted me to ask my Dr. about Ozempic last week. Rybelsus seems to hurt my stomach a bit and 1 less friggin pill every day would be nice. I’m 50 and my Dr. Has me on 2 different blood pressure meds, Metformin and a cholesterol pill. Some of these have to be taken with food, some have to be taken on an empty stomach and some are taken twice a day. It’s a pain in the ass! My blood pressure isn’t even that high but because I’m diabetic… he wants it around 110/80. Oh…… and I can’t even get Ozempic because all these “fad-dieters” have caused a shortage!
I started in December with the3mg after that on 7mg with the 3mg no problems but 7mg in January it mkes me throw up for about a week now i am not throwing up now still sometimes i feel i will throw up but i don't. In December when i start taking it i weight in 195 as of march my weight is 178
Update please
Please do a similar update for GLP-1s.... Tirzapitide, Ozempic tips & tricks.... focused on Glucose Control. There's A LOT of UA-cam videos about GLP-1s for weight-loss, but I'm Type 2!
There is definitely a video on Mounjaro (tirzepatide) in the works. I'm editing an update on Ozempic for next week's video, but I can look into doing a Tips & Tricks video as well. Thanks for the suggestions.
@@sugarhighchannelany word on Ozempic increasing production? My Dr. put me on it last week and we can’t even get it in Canada. I was told there was no supply
21/04 : Started taking Rybelsus 3 mg being 103 kgs and borderline diabetic on Dr. 's advice.
Will amp up to 7 mg in 4 weeks and post weight update in 4/8 weeks.
Update please
I'm getting ready to try the 3 MG dose, for my type 2 diabetes.
Been taking Farziga 10MG and Metformin 1,000MG for years, but due to kidney issues, my Dr took me off it, and wants me to try Rybelsus.
Funny thing though, my Walgreens is out of stock!
Not sure when they'll get it back in, so it's a waiting game now...
Update:
After two weeks on Rybelsus 3mg, my daily glucose readings have come back down to the 120s, after they spiked to 190~220 after being taken off Metformin.
It stinks, because when I was on Metformin, my daily glucose levels were 100~120.
My A1-C had dropped to 6, so my Dr took me off the Metformin, because of my kidney function, plus, he wanted to see if my body would adjust, and keep my blood sugar in check.
Well, no, no it didn't...
My A1-C shot up to 8.6.
I really hope that Rybelsus keeps working like it is, because I'm starting to feel really good, getting my energy back, and I've noticed a reduction in my neuropathy pain.
I did have some gastrointestinal issues at first, but those issues resolved within a few days.
Thanks for the info. But in India they still come in the boxes and not bottles. Hope that’s not a concern.
Did you need a prescription?
Just started to take 3 mg daily rybelsus after being on trulicity for 12 months . I am 58 male and was taken of Trulicity due to shortage in the uk .
Day one feeling very sick vomited twice and tired.
Keep you posted in a few weeks
Thanks for sharing! Hoping for great improvement. Cheers.
It gets better good luck💙
I just started taking it. And is giving me terrible headaches but I think is because I’m not drinking enough water . I will start drinking more water and I will see😊
Update please
I have a question , not really related to this topic. I am a 60 year old nurse from Queensland Australia. I have had gastric bypass and I’m trying to search the efficacy of Trulicity and the side effects.
i have been on rybelsus for a week 3mg i am also on insulin , my diabetes nurse approved it for me , can it cause leg cramps as i have never had them before but have had then when i wake up , the nurse says no its the heat at the moment it is hot in the uk at the moment , have you ever heard of rybelsus causing leg cramps , or dvt , ?
We can't get Osempic/Wegovy over here in the UK due to massive shortages. We are told it's because of so many Americans purchasing so much of it. Don't know if that's true but it is true that shortages will run until 2025.
I've been taking Mounjaro for 5 months and it's impossible to fill due to USA shortages. On tomorrow I will start Rybelsus 7mg. While on Mounjaro my A1C went from 7.8 to 7.0. I can't wait to see what Rybelsus will do.
Hy so i have been taking this medication for about a week and half and noticed my eyes seem a little blurry and watery is this a common side effect or should i speak to my doctor.
Happened to me it's because your sugar dropped fast! It will get better.
I had severe diarrhea when taking Ozempic. Recently tried Rybelsus and had the same problem after 10 days. This goes on for some time and is a life-limiting problem but no one seems to address how to handle these side effects. Anyone out there experiencing similar trouble? How do you handle it?
Lower your dosage and include bread in breakfast
Lots of unnecessary info.
Does it work for weight loss and lowering of A1c
Or not?
Im now on14mg I find it very difficult to eat full meal a day I lost appetite
Can we take two 14 mg to lose weight?
I am taking rybelsus it’s been two month. Just wondering does this cause anxiety??
It’s not one of the more commonly reported side effects, but I suppose anything is possible.
Update please??
Rybelsus or similar oral medication Would be a great option.

I am in Canada and my Doc put me on metformin for my original diagnosis, however the stomach pain incapacitated me and we moved to the new drug - Ozempic (once a week injection). I was on that for a bit until I could not continue due to side effects affecting my stomach. Now I’m on Rybelsus and no stomach side effects however I’m wondering if my drastic hair loss is a result of Ozempic/Rybelsus as I believe Wegovy has this side effect. How can 30 days of Rybelsus fit in that small bottle?
Both Ozempic and Rybelsus have given me severe diarrhea.
I just started it and I’m not a type 2. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Update please
I took Rybelsus last year and lost almost 20 kg within 5 months. I stopped because it is expensive but after two months I’ve gained weight. In January I have started again with Rybelsus but I don’t loose weight 😢. What has changed?
Promo`SM 😳
Question. Can hypoglycemia be reversed?
Yes. Do strength training and loose weight
This medication has made me very sick.
I started taking it and I feel really weird on it. I can’t explain it. Feel strange. Thinking of stopping it.
Update. The strange feeling has passed and I’m doing great. My thinking is clear more then it has been in a long time. Must exercise and eat right.
Thank you for updating.
