Started me out on 2 MG. The side effects were bad, mainly severe nausea. Just took my 6th shot today, and am from 241 lbs to 197 lbs. I was pre-diabetic, too. Key word, was. Life saver!🎉
I am Type 2 with Fistulizing Crohn's Disease. Ozempic has definitely lowered my A1C. But a fringe benefit is that has also helped tremendously with the diarrhea associated with Crohn's. Apparently slowing the GI transit time induced by the Ozempic helps the Crohn's. Nice benefit for me.
Im about to start ozempic and feel a little nervous. But im also doing it because i have R.A and i am diabetic..im hoping that the weight loss will help me as my R.A progresses i cant carry all the extra weight..wish me luck😉
I’ve been taking this for 4 months and I’ve lost 42 pounds . For me it really just makes my appetite go away completely and in return helps me keep better eating habits.
I am 63 years old and have been on Ozempic for 6 months and it has changed my life! I have lost 56 lbs and my eating habits have changed considerably. I have cut out all sweet things ( sugar, chocolate etc,) and check all foods for sugar content before I eat. The gym bores me, so I walk everyday - to the shops or the shopping centre and use the stairs instead of lifts ( elevators) . I have an exercise bicycle in my room and watch films when I'm on it. I was amazed at the weight loss ( I've had to change my clothes size from 3XL to L ) and feel much better, both physically and mentally. I did suffer some side effects ( flatulence / nausea ) initially, but they only occur if I succumb to the odd 'treat' . I would have no hesitation in recommending OZEMPIC in combatting Diabetes Type 2.
I have been taking .25 mg doze for over two years. Loss of appetite, nausea, and diarrhea were side effects. It did bring my A1c by 1 point. But now after 2 year use it has gone up. If you are going to take it, make sure you walk everyday. Cost is prohibitively high. With insurance it is $240 per month. If you don't have insurance it is close to $1,000 per month. From what I here, both Canada and Mexico, cost is much lower.
@Declan Kennedy can you elaborate the side effects when you eat certain things? I will be starting mine tonight at bedtime and really want to avoid the sick feeling. It is when you eat carbs/sweets or over eat in general? Thank you for your post!
I had to have my insulin adjusted 5 weeks after I started. I was having several very low blood sugars 2 to 3 times a day. My blood pressure was so much lower than I’ve ever seen. This also made me very dizzy.I had to have my heart meds adjusted too. I’m having to have .25 /week for 2 months instead of 1 month. The comments here have been so helpful and enlightening. Thanks for the tip on the available coupons.
I started Ozempic after being diagnosed. I was overweight and had a high A1C. I've lost 50 pounds and look great. My A1C is around 6 now. I changed my diet and like you mentioned the nausea and vomiting can be troublesome. But it's been worth it. I've almost reached the weigh loss set by my nurse practitioner. Yay!
That is great...but..most people would rather be a little overweight than be sick everyday from a medication. I have tried Victoza, Byetta, Bydureon AND Trulicity! All made me nauseous and I even ended up in the ER a couple of times.
Thanks so much for this video. i just started on my first full dose today. I experienced some nausea but not bad the first 2 weeks but so far all is going great. I can’t believe how it has controlled my hunger! i’m never hungry! I’m 63 this month and been Type2 for about 11 years. i’ve been on Tresiba and Farxiga and Kombliglize for years got my A1C to low 7- now trying Ozempic with xigduo to lose weight etc. I can’t thank you enough for this information. You are a blessing!
I started August 22 ,2021. I have lost 30lbs. Nausea and vomiting and severe constipation . The price is too high. I am now in the donut hole and can't afford to pay for it so I have to stop until I get out of the donut hole. In April the price goes up to 214.00 I don't think it's fair to have to stop it when it works
I bought Ozempic from Shopper’s Drug Mart in Canada two weeks ago for $284 for a months supply. The price has come down but it still is out of reach for those without private insurance. Thankfully, my company insurance covers the full amount. I noticed that the only time I had gastrointestinal issues (really bad diarrhea) was last night when I ate an unhealthy snack. I’ve been on keto and one meal a day (OMAD) for the last few months so my body wasn’t use to eating crap and I have been losing weight before I started Ozempic. Funny thing is I didn’t even enjoy that snack. Will continue my keto diet with OMAD and exercise while taking Ozempic to lower my blood sugar. Also, I take Ozempic every Friday after work when I am at home to avoid any side effects at work (who wants to get diarrhea at work?). Plus I’ll have Saturday and Sunday to recover.
Glad of your success! My problem is I’m not used to HAVING to eat. I’ve been watching what and how much for so long I am going Low. I’ve stopped all diabetic pills as I would drop to 56 and 57! So now just the .25 shot once/week and trying to remember to eat. 😍
On week 2...haven’t weighed myself yet, but intend to tomorrow. My appetite is a bit suppressed, can’t hold down as much food as I used to (which is GOOD), sweet cravings kinda stopped as well. Sometimes (maybe a couple of times a day) my stomach will feel queasy for a few min, I just pop a saltine in my mouth. Eating a lot of apples and not constipated like some ppl complained about. Energy is ok, still working out 3x a week. I get it in🇲🇽 and paid $162 or $172 for it. I’m pretty happy with it.
I've been on .25 for 3 weeks now. Did great the first week, no sides effects. Second and third week developed gas that smells like rotten egg and have increased flatulence. I'm so hoping this subsides because it has decreased my appetite and my testing shows much better.
I have been on Ozempic since last April along with Forxiga. I have lost 60 pounds since January. The nausea was significant in the beginning but eventually went away after about 3 months. What I am still dealing with is diarrhea anywhere from 3 to 5 days per week. The sulphuric gas, bloat is daily. Sticking closer to a plant based diet has helped me the most. My sugars were much better in the first 6 months of use, but eating more meat lately they have gone back up somewhat. As far as ease of use, convince etc, I think its terrific. I have a relaxed work, home care, so I have been able to manage side effects and a very understanding roommate... Bottom line is 60 pounds down and that's great for a 53 year old lady. Its a tool to help with weight loss, not a miracle cure on its own, in my opinion! Update... Another year later I have kept the weight off. Nearly losing another 5 pounds. I feel the best the close I stick to plant based diet. Bloat has never left me, no has the terrible gas. Getting on a good magnesium supplement is the only thing that has helped the endless diarrhea. I am now down to just a day or two per week. My A1C is still above goal, last two were 8.2 and 9.4
Thank God I am in Canada. This is new to me and it is covered. I have had two injections. It's been great my sugars are in control and my appetite is decreased, I've lost 7llbs in two weeks. It's not just the medication I am eating very low carb and low sugar.
I have Type 2 diabetes and am on Tresiba. I started Ozempic a few months ago and have lost17 pounds which is satisfactory for me. I started at 1. and over time have reduced it to 15 "clicks" (from the original 75). The 24 hours after the injection I was so tired that I slept constantly. The other thing I noticed was that my sense of taste has changed quite a bit, i have no desire to eat lasagna or pizzas because of the tomato sauce . There have been other changes as well. I have to force myself to eat pretty much anything, which is never healthy for a diabetic. I would like to keep the weight off so I will continue to work on it.
Hi David, first, Excellent and highly informative video - Thank you! I am being evaluated for Ozempic tomorrow and have a couple questions regarding the side affects you mentioned: 1) If I did experience nausea or diarrhea, is it something that will pass after a while? (i.e., on and off, temporary type thing that I can just deal with?) Or does it go on constantly all day? 2) And if I do experience side effects the first few days, does that mean they will continue? i.e., I should stop it immediately if I feel a little nauseous? Thanks again!
I am 70, been diabetic for about 2o years. I was put on ozempic. My starting dose was .25, i will agree i did very well. Than i was placed on .5 and i was doing very well. Next step was 1 mg. A few days i would start looking at food and my stomach i would get nausea . Than in a few days it turned into Diarrhea. I don't mean regular i mean nuclear Diarrhea! When i had the feeling to have a bowel movement. That all it took, have the urge, than when you move to go to bathroom you filled your pants. To late pooped while sitting in chair. When sleeping in bed at night . I would wake with the feeling to go. And as soon as i moved to go to the bath room, I pooped my self All the way to the bathroom. I mean Running down my leg, all over the floor every where POOP ! ! This went on for several days till one night at 2am I had to make a poop run. Same as always. Pooped myself left a trail to bathroom sit down with poop all over me. I passed out and fell to the floor. (Did i mention what was on thefloor) i came to. After i came to i realized were i was . I tried to get up and as soon as i srarted using energy I passed out again . I came to, with my upper body in the floor of the shower. My head was sore And my side was wery sore, it hit the rim on the front edge of shower. ( THIS OLD MAN COULD HAVE BROKEN A RIB.) I was severely dehydrated. Went to ER Early am . After a long wait. I received some IV Fluids and sent home. About 5 days later i was back. At a different ER . Received more iv fluid, again. I was told to take some Imodium Ad. I have eaten those things like candy and it didnt touch it at all. I was the poop king in Tennessee. AGAIN the 3rd time, 4 or 5 days another eary am trip . Same thing IV , but this time they amitted in the Hospital. Was there 2 days. I don't really know What they did. But i started felling better. I forgot to mention between the Er visits and hospital I was going to my doctors office for IV shots. I thought this was it. I had diarrhea Now for almost 2 months. And nobody new how to stop it. At first they thought it was a stomach virus. I told them i was taking omzempic . They seemed not to care , they said drink more water And we will flush out the virus. Didn't happen But a few lakes in Tennessee went dry. I had about 8 weeks of total discomfort. Afraid to go anywhere. When i went to Dr office i took along with extra clothes and 2 sets of underwear , and wore the protective under garments Depends An Embarrassing Time and pain full. About 2 month's of this and no body could cure this. This was pain full , Embarrassing. Discussing. And at one point losing so much weight i was thinking this is it. Pooping for 2 month and yes you lost weight. But dont do it this way. If you start taking this medication and if the thought of or looking at food turns your stomach. ......... Stop taking this Medication.. Im sorry i wrote a book. No body should have to go thru what i did. RW.
@@sugarhighchannel You completely ignored the very important comment from Raymond William's! That reminds me of when I told one of my dr's I'd lost 45 pds in 1 month she congratulated me....I was already thin and had become malnourished, seriously malnourished! It's irresponsible!
@@RAY-lk9ur Thank you Mr Williams! More people need to be made aware of this particular side effect, plus several more quite serious ones. Anyone thinking of taking this needs to read the reviews on WebMD from other patients. Many wished they'd died rather than suffer through this.
FYI: There are 2 caps on the needle. I wasted a whole injection because I didn't see the inside cap. :( Good bye $$$$ Side effects are minimal for me, very happy. Thanks for all the info.
Just took my 8th dose, 4th at .5 mg. Had nausea really bad when I upped the dosage. Saw something that said if you have nausea to inject into a location with less fat. Huge difference. Still have a little nausea but it is very minor. Lost almost 20 lbs since I started.
Yes interesting. I wonder if that will work for Diarrhea too. Where did you start to inject it? I may go to my thigh or further to the side of my belly
I wish I'd watched your video before my first injection. I stuck myself about 5 times! Since I was already on trulicity, they started me on .5 MG, but I thought about trying .25 to see how it affected me. I let go of the button, then figured it out, gave myself .25, then decided to just go for it, added. 25 morr, let go of the button...finally got .5 injected!
This plus keto and I dropped 70 lbs in 6 months. Nothing else worked. I did have to stop taking it though bc I couldn't stop throwing up and feeling sick & I was close enough to my goal to quit. Been off it a cpl months now, weight still steadily gone. Read that it takes 5 weeks to get out of your system. Idk if that's true but it's been more than that. I didn't start feeling sick n throwing up til I was on the 1mg dose.
Thanks for this video. I'm on day one of my ozempic journey. Just took my first shot today and watched your video and it actually put my mind more at ease. So thank you very much.
Thanks for your review about Ozempic, I am in my third week dose of Ozempic, and I am really surprise how all my anxiety for eating and cravings just went away with rhe first dose, I am prediabetic , and I had a thyroidectomy a year ago, I am from Honduras.
I'm glad I found this channel I've been on Ozempic for 6 months my a1c has only gone down 7.9 to 7.7 I've only lost 25 lbs. I'm getting frustrating because it seem to work really good for others. I will start the new dose to 1 this week. Hopefully it will give me good results.
I was blown away when the cost was mentioned I am in Australia, and it is definitely one of the most expensive diabetic drugs, it is nowhere as much as it is in US Australia subsidizes medications, so this is about $40, most diabetic medications are about $10 - $15, and needles are free (providing you are a registered diabetic using injectables) Makes me ever more appreciative of government subsidized health care in Australia So far I am only up to 6 weeks, side effects have been all listed in the video, worst being the first day or 2 after the injection (actually they start about 1 hour after injection) as well as a massive increase in gassiness, BUT, the vast improvement I have seen in my sugars so far has made it worth it Also I can’t seem to release the gas while lying down, so the first thing that happens when I get up is burp and fart for about a minute lol, and it smells like something died, but I still find this better than the possible side effects of high sugars! I just try to find the funny side of burping for so long, and see if I can beat my record lol Also, I actually used to take Bydurion, and the side effects, while much the same, were much worse, I also had really bad reactions to meat and animal products while using it (causing severe diarrhea, stomach pains and vomiting), so would much rather Ozempic
I’ve been using Ozempic for about 9 months. Everything in your vid rings true. HBac 5.8 and now my doctor has taken me off long/short insulin and replaced it with only long acting. I’ve lost a further 8kgs. Some side effects early on like constipation and vomiting- occasssionally reoccurring but tolerable. I’m on the highest does. The big issue at the moment is demand is outstripping supply here in Australia because doctors keep prescribing it for weight loss so diabetics can’t get what they need. 😡
That actually happened to me. My Dr prescribed Ozempic as I have type 2 diabetes was on Metformin 18 months lost 30 lbs but A1C is still around 6 my pharmacy was out of Ozempic and couldn’t fill my script…called around and finally found another pharmacy had one left 😅 but I do worry about next month?
I’ve been on Ozempic for 5-months working up to 1mg dosage and lost 25lbs very quickly. My A1C is down 1.5 points. Side effects were total loss of appetite, food smelling badly, and the nausea often, especially in the first 2-months. I’m a Canadian over 65-yes of age, so thankfully our government health insurance covers the cost. I would highly recommend Ozempic to assist in controlling diabetes.
Omgoodness! I’m so glad I found you. I just found out I’m diabetic (I’m a foodie, and it runs all through my family…it was just a matter of time) And as you know, UA-cam is flooded with information about Ozempic weight loss. But, I need to know the diabetes part. Thank you so much for this video!
I was put on it a couple of years ago and it worked really well. My PROBLEM was the COST! It rapidly used up my drug benefits of my Medicare advantage plan a few month before year's end...NOT good. For that reason I've been on tresiba which seems to work ok...just not as well as the Ozempic. Cost was the only negative for me.
Being on Ozempic has changed how and what I eat. It has lowered my A1C very quickly to an acceptable 6.7. It took more than a year on insulin to achieve a lower A1C. It took 4 months to get government approval for the drug to be covered for me.
Is that a Guild acoustic I see in the background? I also see a Strat in one set of shots and aa Tele in another, I believe. By the way, I was on Lantus and am now on Ozempic and it has been a wonderful game changer. Better vision, less pain in my feet and some weight loss. Great video.
The acoustic is a Taylor. The red Tele is the real deal, but the sunburst Strat is a very nice knockoff by monoprice that was the best $90 I've ever spent
I know it can cause some pretty miserable side effects...but I'm legit excited to start this stuff tomorrow. I'm highly overweight and have had a hard time keeping my sugar levels under control. I think I'm Type 1 and Type 2 diabetic and take TONS of fast acting and long lasting insulin (up to 600 units a day...my doctor has never known someone who needs so much). I'm also way over weight and struggle with over eating. I have slowly started to get up and move more over the past couple of months though, and my sugar levels have started to stabilize. Really hoping Ozempic can help with my sugar levels as well as maybe help with my appetite.
@@petahughes-tagicaki2526 I guess my doctor has struggled in the past with getting Ozempic approved with insurances. But for some reason my insurance covers it. My doctor also told me he's never known anyone who takes as much insulin as I take (shots). I'm on 2...a quick acting one, and a long. I was giving myself between 300 and 600 units of each everyday. I'm now taking between 30-40 units of each! My A1C 3 months ago shot all the way down to a 6.6 which is by far the best I've had in the last 10+ years...but it shot back up again to an 8 (just had it checked last week) which I'm not too concerned about. I'm making some big changes in my life (watching what I eat and working out 5 days a week)...so I'm confident it'll go back down again. Sorry for the book length reply. Ozempic has been a bit of a miracle drug for me though!
I just started the drug and this video was very specific and informative on how to use it! It is also one of the only drugs to reduce fatty liver which I have in addition to my diabetes!
I tried ozempic for about 4 weeks. My side effects which was nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and skin rash just got to be too much for me and I had to get off of it. I used to take Victoza at one point in my life and had some of the same side effects. I guess the upside Whidbey is that I lost 20 pounds and those four weeks. It has taken about three-plus weeks now for the side effects to completely go away. I still have skin rashes that are healing feeling. Like the office said, ozempic is not for everybody and I'm not knocking this medication because believe me if I could put up with the side effects, I would still be on it. I'm now taking jardiance. I've been on it for about a week and so far no side effects but we'll have to see how well it does with my A1c.
I have been on Ozempic for almost 4 weeks, lost 12 lbs, I have had some nausea, but nothing that cannot be tolerated. My A1C is the lowest it has been in years, 5.00. Amazing!
I am going today to get my first prescription. Originally the cost was outrageous. But my doctor found me a savings card so I am paying less than 25 bucks. I hope it works!
$6? Wow! Who is your insurance? I have BCBS of Illinois and my employer won't cover it. Won't even let me have Victoza because my A1C wasn't over 7 in the last 6 months. I guess I'll just have to diet the old fashioned way. :(
Just started Ozempic today as my weight gain went up so much after being diagnosed with PCOS so easy to use as i use to inject my mams needles as she has type 1 diabetes just without the insulin really hope it works the 🙏🏼
I've been on Ozempic going on 5 months. My A1C went from 8.3 to 6.7 after 3 months. The nausea and diarrhea are still problematic. I'm lucky I don't work outside the home or I wouldn't be able to take this. The nausea more often occurs 3-4 days after the injection although it has happened sporadically day or night any day of the week. I also get abdominal pain at times. My doctor told me it's best to inject in the stomach area. I also take 1000mg of Metformin Extended Release twice a day. My doctor told me not to stop the Metformin because it helps protect the liver from any damage the Ozempic may cause. I'll continue the Ozempic for now. I thought the side effects would ease after 4 months but not yet. I have good insurance and pay $40 for 3 months supply. I've lost 5 lbs. Personally, I would not take this for weight loss. To me, the quality of day to day life is not worth it.
I had some nausea the first few weeks but no diarrhea...I am on this for weight loss..I am not diabetic...BUT my mom is type 2 diabetic & takes metformin...she has terrible diarrhea from the metformin...
@@lauriee5200 Please tell your mom to have her doctor prescribe the Metforin ER (extended release). I had the same problem with regular Metformin. The extended release enters the system a little at a time, so no diarrhea. The Ozempic now doing the opposite...constipation. Funny, the side effects are either of these 2.
@@dgator3599 I will tell her for sure!! Thank u!! Just fyi..I am on significant pain medication for major back problems (obviously this also causes constipation)...but for the last few months, I have been making homemade granola & eating a few times a week & it has changed EVERYTHING...everything “normal” for the first time in years! Its a recipe I found on Pinterest called “Vanilla Granola”....my kids are obsessed with it too..they eat it on yogurt & as cereal...Best to u!
I was taking Ozempic exactly as prescribed, and ended up in the hospital for a week with kidney failure. Prior to taking Ozempic, I never had any kidney problems.
i was taking Ozempic for 5 weeks i was very exited that final i started to loose weight about 7 pounds in 5 weeks but the constipation, sharp pain , bloating and nausea got to me i couldn’t go for 8- to 10 days nothing really worked on the way to the hospital i don’t want any serious complications with my intenseness !! i call my Endocrinologist they told me to stop and go to Urgent cate
Did anyone feel super tired when you started ozempic? I just had my 1st injection 4 days ago and I have been so tired that I am nodding off at work and when I get home I'm so so sleepy which is not normal for me. Hopefully it goes away as I move forward. I have noticed a change in my appetite since the 1st dose. I am not hungry and no late night snacking. My doctor gave me a sample pen to start off because we wanted to see if it worked before fighting with my insurance to cover it. I am getting it for weightloss. I have high cholesterol and my a1c has been going up and down. The highest it got was 6.7. I am not diabetic but nothing I've tried in the past has helped me and the weight keeps coming on. I have bad knees and of course the weight doesn't help that at all.
I have been using Ozempic for 2 years, had nausea at first but not for too long.I have lost about 10 kgs but stuck on that loss. I live in Spain and it costs 124 ers if I remember right but it is aided by the NH here and I have to pay just over 4 euros. My blood level is perfect, well under control. Will I continue to lose weight? Loved the video.
I lost 60 pounds in 4 months on Ozempic last year, lost my insurance so I couldn't afford it. I am back on it, not losing as quickly as I did then but it does really help my blood sugar.
Just very scared to take it. Taking my first dose tomorrow. .25mg. Scared of the nausea and vomiting part. Is dizziness also a side effect? Scared is all. Need reassurance.
what about constipation as a side effect? especially as the MOA is to slow digestion. And, what causes the GI symptoms with this drug if it is mimicking our own GLP-1? Thank you! love this video!
i had eye inflammation from ozempic, my eye doctor didn't understand why i had inflammation as i was healthy, i also gave him all my blood tests, after 2 weeks i remembered about ozempic and i told him, he did a research and even asked other doctor's, he was convinced my problem was caused by ozempic, he was afraid that ozempic could have caused other problems like kidney problems, pancreas, cancer etc ,,, i may have lost wait but it is not worth it for its side effects and its complications
Been on my starter does for 3weeks now and already lose 20lbs suffered with gas but it's now releasing fairly well soon to start my second dose increase excited..
I know it feels great to lose weight and have A1C under control, I’m on this too, but the down side for me is anxiety. If you look at their posted side effects anxiety is the first one. And there’s no long term safety results yet for this. Also being able to eat carbs while still have sugar under control, kinda encouraging bad eating habits. I decided to stop using it and just go back to keto, which I needed no meds at all.
I was on Ozempic for 15 months until others found out about its weight loss properties. When supply became patchy, then unavailable, my GP switched me to Trulicity. I noticed the difference within the first 2 months. Then, as COVID struck, supplies dwindled. It became unobtainium almost overnight. My weight bloomed. I went from 84 kg to 96 kg. I couldn't get either medication for love nor money. Happily things are returning to normal. I am back on Ozempic and have been for 2 months now. I live in Perth, Western Australia and the lifestyle and foods available to me, assist in meeting all of my eating requirements. Happily, I am on the PBS so the govt picks up the tab for the majority cost of my meds. A 2 week blister pack of tablets (metformin et al) costs me AU$5. A 1 month supply of Ozempic costs me Au$7.50.
Ozempic has taken my readings from 270 to 140....now I don’t know why this was not given to me in 2005. I’m so thankful for this miracle drug. I’ve been a pin cushion since 2005 and this is the only type medicine that has ever controlled my problem. I spent years developing other problems because of my diabetes...And I’m thankful that now at least I can see some hope of growing much older with my children and grand kids. Thank you. All praises do to Allah 💯🙌🏽
... and it was developed here in Denmark by the scientists at Novo Nordisk... they are probably Christians if they are religious at all. Allah has no hand in this at all 🤷🏻♂️
I started my ozempic 2 days ago, it went well. I lost 2 lbs in 2 days. Less craving. Mild diarrhea happens after administering Ozempic. I’m looking forward for better results.
You did'nt cover the priming of the pen. This is pretty important as it makes sure you get the full dose on the first injection. Good video. Also, what things can you do to neutralize or reduce nausea/diarrhea? Thanks in advance...
I been on Ozempic now since 2021 and ive lost up to now over 5st in weight and that is without any exercise, i was a UK size 30 before i started on Ozempic, today im a size 18 and i am still dropping weight. This injection suppressing my eating portions loads. i did not have any side effects from this to. And best of all its lowered my sugar levels so im on the way to finally rid of my type 2 diabetes. I've tried other medications for weight loss has i did not want surgery. This is the only medication that's helping me lose weight has well has my diabetes control.
Hi, I am on my 3rd week of Ozempic. I have been a diabetic (type 2) for over 30 years. In 2013 I was put in Dialysis and was on it for 7 years. I will celebrate my 4th post kudney anniversary thid November, 2023. I have gained over 40 lbs. In the 4 years. I heard about this drug and began using it. My question is are there more side effects or cautions as post-transplant i should look or beware of?
Been on the .25 dose for 4 weeks and nothing. No side effects no change in my appetite and blood sugar still the same. Hopefully I have better results with the higher dose.
This is my first week day 4. I had nausea for 3 days it now seems to be going away. I have had a headache and I'm so tired. Hopefully that will end soon. Other then those few side affects I am.doing well on this and I'm excited to see my weight loss progress in the next few months.
Sunday it will my third doze. So far I had no nausea, no vomiting, no diarrhea. Is this normal? I watched as many videos as I could find in addition to reading the information that came with the medication. After that I got in the mindset to expect the worse but none of claimed side effects have happened to me so far. So I am concerned that maybe it is because I am not injecting the med properly (FYI I always check flow by making sure to see a droplet before injecting and count well over 10 before removing the inhector). Most of the videos tell a horror stories of side effects, but I am now wondering if it is also normal that none of the side effects happen? Have you had patients without any side effects? BTW I just looked at the video pill med for R. that you just uploaded. The O injection is so easy, and since it is a once a week there no way I would take a daily pill. Ozempic is super easy to use and very flexible in terms of when you can take it. So I appreciate the pill video but will stick to a once per week tiny prick. Thanks in advance for your videos and for your feedback on my concern of my experience with a lack of side effects.
Chamo Loco As many horror stories as you hear on the internet, MOST people don’t get side effects. About 20% of people get nausea (which is a decent amount), but that means that 80% of people DON’T get it. You’re actually in the majority on this one and I’m glad you’re feeling well. The reason you’ll see more about horror stories on videos, Facebook posts, Twitter, etc is that people are much more likely to make posts when something goes wrong, rather than when things go right.
@@sugarhighchannel you are right there. So far so good. Fingers crossed. Those videos didn't scare me from starting, but I went in expecting the worst. So I was just scared I was not doing it right. After my third doze all good. Gracias
I was on victoza with no issues at all. Doctor switched me to ozempic and i developed EXTREME stomach pains and had to stop using it. It took about a week for the pains to totally stop. I will say the ozempic dropped my a1c from 9.6 to 6.7 in the time that i used it. I only used two pens total. Now im back on victoza.
i did'nt get any side effects for about 6 months BUT i do now i get bad wind and sulphur burps every week,i have been to the doctors and all he said was we will have to take you off it,but i have lost 3 stone now and feel great
I start tomorrow. I have some concerns. Ozempic face...pain from the needle and side effects. My a1c is 8.0 and my bmi is about 36. I have been t2d for two years and I can use a boost to better get it under control.
I just started this Ozempic for 4 weeks now. I been reading all the comments. I had suffered blurred vision and went to my optometrist to get checked. There are no signs of blood clots in my eyes. Then after going on for 4 weeks I had this excruciating pain in my left side tummy. It took me 4 days to recover with strong pain reliever. Now I am on my 5th week then what’s next? I am not sure if I have to go ahead with this injection as gives me weird feeling in my system.
I have been on it for several months. I started at 0.25mg and worked up to 1mg. I have to say, the 1mg has been very effective for me and I have lost 30# so far. I went to my doc for a weight loss medication. I did have A1C of 6.9 and now it is down to 5.6 and this was only about three months later. I was pre diabetic also. My lipids have also gone down to nearly normal! My insurance denied the prior authorization but my doc filed an appeal and I won. So if that happens don’t quit! I feel fuller faster and don’t eat as much. Some days I have to force myself to eat. My insurance covers, but it can be very expensive for some. I think it is a miracle drug!!!
Thanks for this. Just started using this 2wks ago. Had some scary moments already as im using a small dose of Lantus for the startup period if 3 wks. Lbre 2 system saved my bacon as it wike me up to a 2.9 bs! 1/4 cuo of maple syrup brought me back. Stopoed the insulin and woke up with a 6.2 next day. Ither than a headache and feeling sick, im in for the experiment. Carter Canada
Hello, I did enjoy your blog! I am currently on Ozempic and have only taken three shots. 24 hrs after my third shot, I had over four hours of irregular heart, fluttering, so bad that I was not able to speak normally. I got in touch with both my PCP and my endocrinologist. They both stated that it was not a side effect for Ozempic. Could this be a symptom?
This is my 2nd month, and I’m down 6 lbs, which I can’t afford to lose anymore weight. I have most of the symptoms. My issue is that I’m hungry every 2 hrs, is this normal? I eat more often than an infant lol. But, my portions are smaller than I use to eat. Please HELP
I find I am eating smaller meals as well. My nutritionist says this isn't an issue as long as I make sure to get a good deal of healthy proteins in the meals and snacks.
I am 79 and my A1C suddenly hit 7.9 and I was put on this medication. This is BY FAR the very best video I have seen to educate yourself on using a prescription product to reduce your A!C. Information and production values are perfect!
This is the review I needed to read!.. I didn't want to take the surgical route so this was my next option. I was rejected by my insurance. My doc waited 5 months to prescribe again and here I am about to take my first injection tomorrow. Praying for results like yours
Hi i just started mine .25 dose last week havent had any symptoms when do we see wait loss result after how long and what type of diet we have to follow
Been on it for 2 years now. A1C down to 5.2 from 14.8 . Weight is down from 364 to 220lbs. This stuff saved my life. My Endocrinologist recommended it and I am so thankful he did.
What dosage are you on. I’ve just began taking it a month ago. I had diarrhea and nausea for the first month but it has stopped now. Congratulations on your weight loss and A1C. I weigh 240 and hope to go down to 200.
@@colleenjones757 hello Colleen, I was started on 0.25 for 2 weeks then 0.50 for 4 weeks then moved up to 1mg. I did have diarrhea for around a month but didn’t have any nausea. My only suggestion would be not to set a goal weight. Definitely aim for an Excellent A1C but let the weight loss be a fantastic side effect of getting your A1C under control. My plan was to try and lose 50 pounds, now 3 years later I am sitting at 205 pounds and I never thought that was possible. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck Colleen
I’ve been on Ozempic for about 6 months. I’m 45 years old and have been a paraplegic for 12 years. I blew up to size 56 pants post injury. Since ozempic I’ve dropped down to a 44. 3 sizes more to go to get back down to my preinjury size!! This stuff has brought me back to life!!! I’ve wheeling 5 miles a day, and back to rolling off road.
I've been on it for almost 3 months for weight loss. I've dropped almost 15lbs. I'm not hungry anymore, no cravings, I eat small amounts. I'm excited to see how far I can go. I've had gastric bypass in 1999 and after tremendous weight loss I regained most of it since then. Hunger would not stop, cravings became binges. Ozempic is working so far. The semaglutide for weight loss is not covered by my insurance, but Ozempic is because it's designed for diabetes. I'm feeling better, my ruined joints aren't as bad. Soon I should be able to start taking walks. 🎉
@@antonellaangeli1760 I'm prediabetic. I've had the gastric bypass, too, and failed. I started Ozempic and lost 43lbs in 3 months. It absolutely killed my hunger. I've had to use nutritional drinks to maintain. Unfortunately, after a while, the effects began to diminish and had to bump up to the next dose until I couldn't go any higher. I was switched to Trulicity which did nothing and I've begun to regain. I suggest that you give Ozempic a try, or use another SEMAGLUTIDE product, like Rybelsus. Insurance does not pay for semaglutide for weight loss, but it does for diabetic control. So that is how it's prescribed to me. Good luck!
Who told you your insurance won't cover it? My Dr told me that and I believed him because even though it didn't make sense, I figured he would know right? But suddenly I had this nagging voice tell me to call the pharmacy to get the NDC codes for the lowest dose and the next up dose. I called my insurance company myself and guess what?! They don't cover the lowest dose BUT THEY DO COVER the higher dose! So I called my Dr's office and told the (shocked) receptionist what I found and got an appt to be seen. I will be getting my Ozempic later this month (August 22/2022) I say all this to tell you to NEVER take your Dr's word. Do your own homework & take your health in your own hands! I did.
@@helprehouseourvets6919 My insurance covers the semaglutide in the form for diabetic use, but not in the form for weight loss. Wegovy is semaglutide dosed strictly for weight loss, but most insurances won't cover it for that. Stupid, if you ask me. You'd think they'd be happy to provide weight loss meds. I got the most recent dose of Ozempic, but oddly, it's not having the same effect. I may try Rybelsus. There is a new one out called Tirzepatide
Started me out on 2 MG. The side effects were bad, mainly severe nausea. Just took my 6th shot today, and am from 241 lbs to 197 lbs. I was pre-diabetic, too. Key word, was. Life saver!🎉
Typically they build up to a dose that high as far as I know. Did the side effects subside?
Really
That a very high dose to start. Not surprised you had bad nausea.
He said the max dose was 1mg
That was terrible to start you at that dose! Hope it didn’t hurt your pancreas.
I just started taking it this week I feel fuller faster a lil nauseous but hopeful ☺️ ...lords willing it works for me ...
I was the same way!!
Ozempic has made a WORLD of difference for my type 2 management. I'm actually losing weight, and my yo-yoing blood sugar has finally leveled out!
Glad you're doing so well! Thanks for sharing your experiences.
@@sugarhighchannel hi can this be used with high blood pressure please let me know thanks.
Why not me 🤔😪
Good for you, amazing testimony. Very encouraging.
@@philparekh1114 I pay $10 for Ozempic.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Yay!
That's great improvement! Congrats!
That is great...but..most people would rather be a little overweight than be sick everyday from a medication. I have tried Victoza, Byetta, Bydureon AND Trulicity! All made me nauseous and I even ended up in the ER a couple of times.
Rebecca Edwards@I just started Ozempic 5 days ago. But I’m interested in know how long did it take you to lose 50 lbs?
Fantastic! That’s the weight loss goal that my doctor has set for me. How long did it take you to lose the weight?

Too many drugs !
Actually even without drug by just fasting and little control on carbs. From 100kg now im down to 78kg.
Glad of your success! My problem is I’m not used to HAVING to eat. I’ve been watching what and how much for so long I am going Low. I’ve stopped all diabetic pills as I would drop to 56 and 57! So now just the .25 shot once/week and trying to remember to eat. 😍
I was just diagnosed and have felt really overwhelmed. So thank you for your videos...
This is the best explanation Of this I have heard!!..simple..and very effective!!
I just started my weight loss journey I’m excited
My A1C is still above goal, last two were 8.2 and 9.4
Oh wow that’s great. Keep up the good work.
I have been on Ozempic since July 2021 and my A1C has gone from 7.6 to 4.9 in just 5 months. I have also lost 29 lbs.
Just took my 2nd dose, lost 4 pounds during the first week. Very minimal nausea. Lucky to have my insurance cover it 100%
What isurance you have ? Mine is not covering😢
So funny that this came up in my feed today, I am starting Ozempic today. Thank you for the tutorial.❤
I lost 62lbs within the first 8 months. My A1C is at 5.4, and I no longer have to take metformin. I did not suffer any adverse side effects.
I just started this. No side affects. Easy to use. I love it. My blood sugar is now normal
I have been on Ozempic for a year...feeling great...57 pounds gone....
I am 70, been diabetic for about 2o years. I was put on ozempic. My starting dose was
.25, i will agree i did very well. Than i was placed on .5 and i was doing very well. Next step was 1 mg.
A few days i would start looking at food and my stomach i would get nausea .
Than in a few days it turned into
Diarrhea. I don't mean regular i mean nuclear
Diarrhea!
When i had the feeling to have a bowel movement.
That all it took, have the urge, than when you move to go to bathroom you filled your pants.
To late pooped while sitting in chair.
When sleeping in bed at night . I would wake with the feeling to go.
And as soon as i moved to go to the bath room, I pooped my self
All the way to the bathroom. I mean
Running down my leg, all over the floor every where
POOP ! !
This went on for several days till one night at 2am
I had to make a poop run.
My head was sore
And my side was wery sore, it hit the rim on the front edge of shower. ( THIS OLD MAN COULD HAVE BROKEN A RIB.)
I was severely dehydrated.
Went to ER
Early am . After a long wait.
I received some IV Fluids and sent home. About 5 days later i was back. At a different ER . Received more iv fluid, again. I was told to take some
Imodium Ad. I have eaten those things like candy and it didnt touch it at all. I was the poop king in Tennessee.
AGAIN the 3rd time, 4 or 5 days another eary am trip . Same thing
IV , but this time they amitted in the Hospital.
Was there 2 days.
I don't really know
What they did.
But i started felling better.
I forgot to mention between the Er visits and hospital
I was going to my doctors office for IV shots.
I thought this was it. I had diarrhea
Now for almost 2 months. And nobody new how to stop it. At first they thought it was a stomach virus. I told them i was taking omzempic .
They seemed not to care , they said drink more water
And we will flush out the virus.
Didn't happen
But a few lakes in Tennessee went
dry.
I had about 8 weeks of total discomfort. Afraid to go anywhere. When i went to Dr office i took along with extra clothes and
2 sets of underwear , and wore the protective under garments Depends
An Embarrassing
Time and pain full.
About 2 month's of this and no body could cure this.
This was pain full ,
Embarrassing. Discussing. And at one point losing so much weight i was thinking this is it.
Pooping for 2 month and yes you lost weight. But dont do it this way.
If you start taking this medication and if the thought of or looking at food turns your stomach. .........
Stop taking this
Medication..
Im sorry i wrote a book. No body should have to go thru what i did.
RW.
Wow!! That's great improvement! Congrats!

@@johnnyd7507 Can't hurt to try. I'm injecting in my upper arm, but thigh was also suggested as a spot. Hope it helps.
Doctor, what is your opinion for this medication used purely for weight loss by people without diabetes?
Thank you for a great informative video. Easy and not full of stuff that I don't need to hear.
Extremely informative video. This video answered many of my questions regarding the medication and its use thereof.

Thanks for your review about Ozempic, I am in my third week dose of Ozempic, and I am really surprise how all my anxiety for eating and cravings just went away with rhe first dose, I am prediabetic , and I had a thyroidectomy a year ago, I am from Honduras.

What dose to lose 25 lbs?
I was blown away when the cost was mentioned
I am in Australia, and it is definitely one of the most expensive diabetic drugs, it is nowhere as much as it is in US
Australia subsidizes medications, so this is about $40, most diabetic medications are about $10 - $15, and needles are free (providing you are a registered diabetic using injectables)
Makes me ever more appreciative of government subsidized health care in Australia
So far I am only up to 6 weeks, side effects have been all listed in the video, worst being the first day or 2 after the injection (actually they start about 1 hour after injection) as well as a massive increase in gassiness, BUT, the vast improvement I have seen in my sugars so far has made it worth it
Also I can’t seem to release the gas while lying down, so the first thing that happens when I get up is burp and fart for about a minute lol, and it smells like something died, but I still find this better than the possible side effects of high sugars! I just try to find the funny side of burping for so long, and see if I can beat my record lol
Also, I actually used to take Bydurion, and the side effects, while much the same, were much worse, I also had really bad reactions to meat and animal products while using it (causing severe diarrhea, stomach pains and vomiting), so would much rather Ozempic
I will pay your $40.00 if you pay my $140.00.
I'm paying 130 as I use it for WL. My A1c wasn't high enough (6.3) to qualify for PBS price.
Just got mine at Chemist Warehouse for $136
I’ve been using Ozempic for about 9 months.
Excellent explanation thank you!
Thank you for this video I'm new to this medication and I needed some reassurance.
Good luck 🙏🏾❤
How did you go on the Ozempic? Have you been able to reduce insulin and other meds?
@@twitchster77 that is so good to hear. 🤩 Thank you for responding
@twitchster77 Just wanted to know how this last year has been for you?
Amazing!
I hate needles very much. I really appreciate your description of this tiny needle.
I am going today to get my first prescription. Originally the cost was outrageous. But my doctor found me a savings card so I am paying less than 25 bucks. I hope it works!
I've lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks so far but I have noticed I'm a Lil fatigued and my stomach is always somewhat upset but it doesn't interrupt my life
I've just changed over from Trulicity. The exposed needle was a bit daunting but it's so small I didn't feel a thing.
I pay $6.00 per month.
Thanks for sharing your experiences !
Its a recipe I found on Pinterest called “Vanilla Granola”....my kids are obsessed with it too..they eat it on yogurt & as cereal...Best to u!

gr8 rev. does the pen have to be calibrated (remove possible air pocket) every time?
I was taking Ozempic exactly as prescribed, and ended up in the hospital for a week with kidney failure. Prior to taking Ozempic, I never had any kidney problems.
omg....do you have diabetes ?
i was taking Ozempic for 5 weeks
i was very exited that final i started to loose weight
about 7 pounds in 5 weeks
but the constipation, sharp pain , bloating and nausea got to me
i couldn’t go for 8- to 10 days
nothing really worked
on the way to the hospital
i don’t want any serious complications with my intenseness !!
i call my Endocrinologist
they told me to stop and go to Urgent cate
And did you recover quickly?
I just took it for the first time today I will let you know I also weighed myself today 276 pounds and my A1c is 7.0
Just started this medicine on Monday . Hopefully it helps 🙏. Great video
I'm interested in hearing if anyone has suffered from fatigue and if it has gone away over time.
Just very scared to take it. Taking my first dose tomorrow. .25mg. Scared of the nausea and vomiting part. Is dizziness also a side effect? Scared is all. Need reassurance.
I take it for 5 weeks and I'm ok, just the morning afterward my blood sugar was a little low, but I drank a glass of fruit juice and was ok
what about constipation as a side effect? especially as the MOA is to slow digestion.
I Just starting this medication for loose weight I hope I lose weight.
Me too
I know it feels great to lose weight and have A1C under control, I’m on this too, but the down side for me is anxiety. If you look at their posted side effects anxiety is the first one. And there’s no long term safety results yet for this. Also being able to eat carbs while still have sugar under control, kinda encouraging bad eating habits. I decided to stop using it and just go back to keto, which I needed no meds at all.
I'm just about to start this, so thanks for the video
You didn't set the pen (click) on the dotted line before use did you. *Users take warning* .
You're completely right. I just recorded an episode on Victoza and made sure to include that step. Thanks for reminding me!
Hi Dave..can you shed some light on this supply issue on Ozempic? When should the manufacturer make ot more available
It only came out in 2017...
... and it was developed here in Denmark by the scientists at Novo Nordisk... they are probably Christians if they are religious at all.
Thank you so much for this, as I've just been subscribed .25 dose. Excited to see what positive effect it has :)
Loved your video but I must say I am a little surprised you didn't recomend people prime each needle, why is that I am currious????
IThank you, doc, for this teaching lesson on Ozempic.
It is also being used for type 1 also
I have been on it for several months.
6.9 Is diabetic... and great idea apealing to the ins co.
Doc , questions I opened a pen and used 1 injection in Novemebr 2023, can I still use the remaining shots after 10 months ?
Thanks for this. Just started using this 2wks ago. Had some scary moments already as im using a small dose of Lantus for the startup period if 3 wks. Lbre 2 system saved my bacon as it wike me up to a 2.9 bs! 1/4 cuo of maple syrup brought me back. Stopoed the insulin and woke up with a 6.2 next day. Ither than a headache and feeling sick, im in for the experiment. Carter Canada
Went to .05 after 4 weeks and diarrhea has been on going for 7 days lowered my dose back to .025 and still having diarrhea!
Took my first injection today. Lord willing this helps me lose weight because in 6 years NOTHING else has!
No, it is not normal that you are hungry every two hours. You spike your insulin every time you eat. Talk to your doctor.
I am 79 and my A1C suddenly hit 7.9 and I was put on this medication. This is BY FAR the very best video I have seen to educate yourself on using a prescription product to reduce your A!C. Information and production values are perfect!

@@michaelg7949 hello are you still taking this medication and if so have they dropped your dose back down since the weight drop and a lower A1C?
I’ve been on Ozempic for about 6 months. I’m 45 years old and have been a paraplegic for 12 years. I blew up to size 56 pants post injury. Since ozempic I’ve dropped down to a 44. 3 sizes more to go to get back down to my preinjury size!! This stuff has brought me back to life!!! That's great to hear! Best of luck!
Thats so cool. Im anti- pharma in general but this really seems to have its place. Praying no negatives arise.
You are very brave. ❤
You’re an inspiration! So happy for you!
Ok I took it and I puked and couldn't eat anything for 4 days why isn't it working for me it was brutal and I'm still not feeling well
I've been on it for almost 3 months for weight loss. 🎉
Good luck 🍀, thanks
Are you diabetic? I’m not and I had stomach bypass surgery and gained weight again. People told me about ozenpic to lose it.
