I am a huge animal lover, so I have a lot of stories. But the most recent one was on Sunday, I was spending some quiet time outside by myself, when I saw a butterfly in the grass. I went over to look at her, and she started to flap around but not fly away. I noticed that her wing was ripped up. I tried to pick her up, but she kept jumping away from me. I ran back to my house and grabbed a bottle and came back to put her inside. I looked up how to take care of an injured butterfly online and found a good way to make food for them. I coaxed her out of the bottle, which took me a while to do, and got her to eat. We became very good friends. She would sit on my hand, and not like to get off. Sadly though, she died tonight. She died in my hand as I watched her slowly loose energy and eventually pass. I am at least glad that I could have made her last couple of day a little more comfortable.

When we moved into our house, there was this black and white cat who hung around the house. She wouldn't let us touch her and would run away at the sight of us, but we still fed her and would leave blankets for her to lay on. Eventually she got used to us and now she let's us pet her and meows at us a lot :3

There is a huge stray population of cats on oahu. A kitten cat was on my porch crying during a storm and I took him in and fed him until we could find a home for him.

It's a really cool thing to know that a good portion of your life is documented so thoroughly and artistically and I think it will be a really special thing for you Matthias and Amanda to look back and see your young selfs and to show your kids and they'll show their kids
I hope people are nice to those cats. They look well taken care of. I volunteer at a local rescue and in the cat room at my local PetSmart.

As an animal rescuer I am always finding cats and dogs on the street and bringing them home.. Drives my hubby nuts but its just the way I am. All my furbabies are rescued from the streets and I am amazed and proud everyday that they are mine and I saved them.
I met a stray cat a few years back after this flood we had and saw it around the garbage bin behind her work. We cut up some child chicken for it since we didn't have food at the time and have it some water. That cat is now my cat Claire today. :)

And Amanda will enjoy hearing that I actually tend to befriend (ha, rhyming) cats ALL THE TIME. The one I remember the most was a cat in the parking lot of a pizza place later at night. Me and my friend were picking up pizza for us and our SO's and this cat was just chilling, so we walked by and said hi and when we left the pizza place, it walked up to us and rubbed all around our legs begging for some petting. It was adorable.
There are so many stray cats on Oahu that when I was 6, an orange tabby came up our deck everyday and catched the lizards. We decided to keep the cat as a pet. Our cat Rex, still lived with us and sleeps on our beds.
One of my favorite cats that I have ever had named Bob Diddle Bob. I had known the cat sense I was like 3 years old and just two years ago we noticed that he was very skinny and was not leaving our house. We found out from one of our neighbors that his "owners" were not letting him in. One night it was supposed to get down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. And at that point he was just living on our screened in porch with a small heater. We knew that that would not be nearly enough. So we took him into our basement and he did not come back out of that house till we had moved last year. We had to put him down just recently because he was not eating. 😢
We basically stole their cat. 😐 but he would have died if we hadn't
So, last year in fall, there was this black cat that used to always come in my backyard and scratch the door. Everytime it came we fed it with some food. This cat was so special to me because i love cats and my house is too messy to take care of. She was like our cat though we never got to hold or give affection. After around 1 month of feeding it, i wanted to pet it thinking that it was use to me . I opened the door and it scared it, and it never came back again. I hope she/he is fine wherever she/he is.
LOL he's like "IM NOT RRUNK!" But he's totally buzzed you can tell lol.
So about 6 or 7 years ago my brother found a baby lab, maybe about a year old and she had gold colors eyes. The first time he tried befriend her, she ran away. Then he saw her again and she liked him so now we have had her as a pet. Then two years ago, my boyfriend is seriously a cat whisperer. He found this baby kitten and she let him pet her and we ended keeping her as well.
Once in the winter there was a storm and my mom had to bring the trash barrels back towards the house so they wouldnt get knocked over and she found this little pug in our yard, so we took it in for a while until we found their owner. Our cats didnt like him very much but he was so cuteee!!!
I found a stray cat one day. After taking her to the vet, I took care of her for the weekend. She got adopted by one of our neighbors after the weekend. But, she visits me every so often.

My neighborhood has many stray cats and one of them has become very close to my family and I, but she was really skittish at first. I live in Ohio and we had a harsh winter this year and this poor skinny little cat was caught in it, we already had a cat but she stayed inside due to the cold so we would leave food outside for her and we started to leave the garage door cracked. She would come in the garage for shelter but whenever anyone came outside she would run off. She eventually came around to us and she is very cuddly and sweet which is a nice change because our cat we already have kneads her claws when we cuddle her (not being defensive its just how she shows affection). She hasn't left since so now shes apart of the family. (Not to mention our cat finally has a friend and my step-dad likes cats now thanks to her)
In my neighborhood we have cats everywhere! No joke! And when my sister and I were younger we found a cat just walking along by our house and decided we'll start feeding and becoming friends with it. My mom wasn't happy with this, but soon the cat moved in with us and we named her Tigger. The same thing happened again like 2 years later with another cat that we have named Sargent Peppers after The Beatles song. ☺️
I have befriended many cats. One time I was with two of my friends and they told me about an abandoned house off to the side of the neighborhood. Apparently this house was filled with cats that had taken up residence their and had probably multiplied. The two girls that I had become friends which had taken upon themselves the job of feeding these feral and befriended them if only from a distance. They also told me about this woman who built a small quaint sanctuary for roaming cats to come and go at their leisure though most stayed and hung out it the shelters the woman had set up as well as in the flowers and foods she so loved to plant against the housing committees regulation. I miss those places they were always quiet and nice to escape to.
Hawaiian Isles water is my favorite water. I don't even know why, but it is! I lived on Oahu for a little over a year and the water is one of the things I miss the most.
The song Matthias was singing is the song my class threw our caps to at graduation!
Also, my parents hate when I befriend animals because I always bring them home with me. Dogs, cats, opossums, you name it.
"I'm gonna attempt to pet it and let's hope he doesn't run away." *cat runs away* lol.
Also, whenever I hear that song Matt was singing, I always think of another song called "See You Again" (it's by Carrie Underwood, and in my opinion, better).
My family and I were in Greece last week for my 16th birthday and Greece is notorious for their stray cat population. We had them out side our apartment and we went to a restaurant where cats sat next to us as we ate. There was one gorgeous cat in particular that sat next to me and let me pet him. My little brother and I named him small Bob in reference to the percy jackson series.
Both cats, one mine &&& one my sisters where strays that where outside our house. Got the first one, named buddy when he decided to say hi. He was let inside when the weather was bad. He had some medical problems but is now better. He brought the other one, Sam literally into the house. Sam was skinny and had some what looked to be fighting wounds and ticks on him. Now he's a happy talkative cat. He's got so big that he's gotta be put in a dog crate to move.
I’m actually from the big island and have been subscribed to your main channels like project 863 and dope or nope for over 2 years now and stumbled upon this, and can’t tell you how much this made me feel. Atm I’m going through rough times. But seeing you two happy with each other company before parent life makes me feel Nostalgic :) glad I stumbled on this. I love that song too Matthias. In Bamfield, British Columbia they have a lot of stray cats that are taken care of by the locals and they use money donated by tourists. Bamfield is located in Vancouver island and is a marine science area,I absolutely love it there and suggest you go.

QOTD: Well, the cat I own was actually found in some piping that was standing upright, it was apparent though, him being a kitten, that he could not have possibly gotten into the piping himself, the only entrance was five feet high, so someone threw him in there. He was covered in fleas and ants, but we took him home and managed to save him. He's now my buddy, Atlas. He's gigantic for a cat, dwarfing any other cat we've had around him, yet he's absolutely gentle, he won't hurt anyone, not mice, or other cats, or people. He likes to slap other cats(without using his claws), but besides that, he's gentle. I know this wasn't exactly what the question was, but I thought I'd share!
My family and I used to live in an area with a lot of open space. When we were driving one day (to goodness remembers where), we came across a horse in the road. Beautiful but also kind of stopping traffic. My dad and I got out of the car and were the only ones able to approach it without it skittering away, even though there was a group of people who were blocking the road with their cars so the horse wouldn't get hurt.
We found where it got out and got the people who owned the land to come get the horse back to the stables, but we befriended a lost horse that day!
QOTD: When we were in Barcelona of course there was tons of ferrule cats, so I met this really cute black and white one while we were walking around the Olympic village, and it would follow me! It was cute,,and I wish I could've brought it home!

The sparrows that you saw are really common in Britain, Any time of the year, but mainly more active in summer. If you walk outside you can hear them chirping :3

Qotd:Once, when i was hiking in the mountains, I saw a beautiful baby doe with huge black eyes and a fluffy tail! It was really surreal because when i tried to get a closer look, it didn't run away. I didn't try and touch it because i knew it would get scared so i sat down and looked at it in the eyes and it stared back, it was really magical. For a few moment we were just totally alone, starring in each others eyes, in total silence.Eventually, other hikers came along and scared it away, but it was a really beautiful moment that i'll never forget.
Oh man I really want a malasada! One of the many things I miss about Hawaii. That and Li hing mui covered gummi bears and spam musubi! So good!
In Egypt (oh wow I answered another question with an Egypt thing too, sorry bout that) stray cats are literally everywhere. So we went to this little local place for dinner that had an open side facing the Nile and a couple of cats wandered in and kept hopping on my lap. My parents weren't too stoked about me hanging with potentially flea-ridden cats but I loved it so I just spent the whole dinner playing with them :P
QOTD: I love befriending cats! When I grow up I'm going to be a crazy cat lady :) my brother lives in the next street from me and he has a cat. We cat sit for him quite often and the cat hangs around our house most of the time. So when it's time to lock the cat in for the night the cat walks with me to my brothers house :)
I live in the country so it's not uncommon to see stray cats or lost hunting dogs, we found one dog around here and we took him in, we put up signs in attempt to find his owner. Long story short, he's still here, his name is Wilford, and he's pretty much the best dog ever.

I was at Pine Mountain in Georgia, and I found a little kitty walking up to me, I was so happy because it liked me and I loved it. It was sooo friendly to.
This video made me smile like an idiot. Seeing you guys as a couple makes me both happy and sad at the same time. Happy because love is awesome. Sad because I am afraid that my relationship with my boyfriend will never be this good. I love him so much though, that's what matters the most I think.
My Answer to the QOTD: I've met quite a few animals on the streets and roads in my days. But the most memorable one has to be when I was a wee nugget. I found this tabby cat by a dumpster that was owned by my school and I sat out there my whole recess and part of my next class. The cat came over to me and sat in my lap, so I picked him up took him inside where my teacher yelled at me to let that "mangy" animal out. I left school and took him home in my bag. He was my cat up until he turned 8 where he ran away when we moved.
I used to work as vet assistant and someone brought in a kitten that was found frozen to the road. I took her home and took care of her. That was 15 yrs ago and she still lives with my parents. She even goes deer hunting with my bro. She will sit in the deer stand and alerts him when she hears the deer. She also loves to ride on the back of the 4 wheeler.

A bit late to the party, and I don't know if this really counts, but when me and a couple of people were walking down a hiking trail in Yosemite a couple of years ago, a young black bear kind of just walked by like 5 yards from us. It wasn't aggressive or anything, it was just kinda doing its own thing. It was a really interesting experience.
In Maui on the road to Hana there are a bunch of stray cats and last time I was there I sat for about an hour and shared food with a bunch of them and pet them.
Speaking of water...... the tap water tastes like filtered water! (from my experience on Oahu and Kauai) I was in awe....
If it's possible, you guys should go horseback riding at the beach in Hawaii. 😊 Just a little suggestion. :D
First off beautiful couple. Second I was younger and a little wild tabby kitten was running wild in our wood shed me and my aunt fed the cat everyday but long story short the cat is still alive to this day
QOTD: My friend Adia and I were just talking outside her house when we saw a set of eyes in a bush and flipped out because we thought it was a coyote. (We live in phoenix. basically a desert.) It was an ADORABLE black cat. I named it Catherine. :D Adia wanted to keep it, but unfortunately her sister is allergic to cats. (her brother is allergic to dogs) So she can only keep her birds Thor and Abagail.
I named her RainDancer (Rainy for short) she was a little fluffy gray kitten and there was a storm and a tree branch almost fell on her, when she was on my deck. My dog Snowy (She died) was out there and saved RainDancer, so we kept her for a little while, an ended up keeping her. (Our nabors has a male kat about the same age as Rainy and they had kittens, 6 of them and we kept 3 of them a grey one, a golden one, and a black one, so we named the only girl, HollyLeaf, Jayfeather was the grey one and LionBlaze was the golden one.. when JayFeather was born he was blind too! How cool!)
QOTD: One day, a couple years ago, I was walking around in a nearby forest. I looked at the ground around me and I saw a cricket! He was surprisingly missing one of his legs, so I called it "Lucky". We spent a good five minutes together

QOTD: actually, that's how we got one of my cats. My mom and I were at Target one night, and there was this cat running around the parking lot going up to everyone and meowing a lot. It was still there when we were leaving so we asked one of the workers if it was one that's there a lot and he said no he'd never seen that one before. I was freaking out worried about it because I am such a cat person, and my mom said ok, if she could call her over to us somehow, we would check her out and see if she was ok at home and take her to the shelter in the morning. Well, as soon as mom opened the car door, that cat ran over and JUMPED IN THE CAR with us! She was a beautiful, incredibly soft calico, and no one was claiming her and it seemed like she had been abandoned as she was already fixed and would not go near men in our house for a while. A few years have passed now and she's absolutely happy hear and has gotten over her fear of men and I am so glad she jumped in our car and convinced my mom to keep her since she's the only animal that has ever really showed complete adoration for her :) smart cat haha

Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I was moving into a new house, and it was a new neighbourhood that had been built just before, and there weren't a lot of people there. But, one day, my sister and I were playing outside and a ginger cat came in our backyard. It was so adorable and it wanted us to pet him, but at one point my sister and I got scared and ran back into our house... it came back everyday for about a week, and then disappeared.. It was a weird moment of my life... XP

On the 4th of July when I was 12, we were on our way home from the fireworks and there was a dog running around on the street and holding up traffic. She didn't have a tag so we picked her up and took her home. We put her in our backyard and fed her. The next morning, I came out to check on her and she growled at me.. But I was persistent and within a few minutes we were the best of friends. I loved her dearly. Unfortunately, we didn't know her past or what happened to her before we got her. She hated women. My mom and I were the only 2 she liked. It was only a matter of time and she attacked someone and we had to put her down. But that was the first time I ever fell in love with a pet

I live in Oahu, Hawaii, and at my old house (when I was around 7-8 years old), my older brother and I found a black kitten with white paws. We didn't tell our mom, we just gave it a bath and let it wander around the living room. My mom told us to keep it outside because she'd been sneezing, and it peed on me, but it seemed to like us. Later that day, we had to let it go. That was the last time we'd ever seen it. I'd named her Alicia.

I was outside with my friends two summers ago and a dog ran up to us and we saw that her name was rusty and that she was from California. We live in South Dakota so we were like wow you're a long ways from home aren't you? We brought her inside and later found some more of her recent tags on the sidewalk. We returned her to her owner who lived about a mile away from me. :)
I think I stayed at that exact same hotel when I went to Hawaii!!!!
The cat on my street is pure white and doesn't have a home. We named it midnight for irony. I love my sister's humor.
Last year we found 4 puppies in a ruined house! (no roof/ missing most of its walls, broken floor boards) It was on the edge of the desert (I live in Arizona). A female dog was walking away from that house and you can tell she had puppies. I went to see if they were in the house, i heard squeaks and growls. they were under the broken floor. We tried to get them out but it was getting dark and i didnt have a flashlight. So i came the next morning with hot dogs to lure them out. I heard 2 growls from under the floor, eventually got them out. (They already had teeth so mama dog was going to ween them soon!) I heard a little howl and saw a puppy in a shallow ditch and ran to get him and put him in a box. Then i saw little paw prints on the fine sand (In the direction where we last saw the mama dog going). We went out into the desert to look for it. and the prints would disappear sometimes. I was so scared a hawk or eagle or any predator found it! but in some shrubs i saw eyes and perked ears and it ducked when eye contact was made. I went over and got him and brought him back to the car. We took him home and bathed them (they needed several baths each) One of them had mud that was caking over his eye and was drying up. His eye was almost shut! My pitbull loved them. He let them sleep on his pillow and would monitor them if they would wander off. I found 3 of them homes that same night and the last one i held on to for a friend who wanted one! :)
Those extra, cool and artsy shots, are majestic but no offense I think the cats are more majestic! I think they might be magical and hypnotize us with their Cuteness!
There is a dog park that I go to. All the dogs know me and my dog Elsie! For some dogs it takes a few years for a them to like people as a friend but not for me. They love me. I'm not sure what's different about me from other people (apart from my personality!). But what ever it is it draw dogs to me!
when I was kid me and my friend used to walk back home from school and there was always this black cat outside one of the houses who we used to pet and he was such a sweetie :3 we named him midnight but then we bumped into the owner and it turns out the cats name was actually Lenny, we were slightly disappointed haha
One time, I came across gecko on the sidewalk. I named him Blinky and took a picture of him. He was really small and really friendly and he is my homie! 😎🐲
That sweet bread you have at the beginning is called "Berliner" in Germany. But in Germany there is Jelly or Jam in it.
QOTD: When I was 13 or so, I found a turtle in the middle of the road. (After scaring my mom half to death by screaming "STOP" because I thought she was going to run it over accidentally. XD) I took it home and named it "Lemony". My parents let me keep it for the rest of the day and then we let it go in our creek outback. I'd wanted a pet turtle for years and that was as close as I ever got. Haha
Where we live now, there is a cat who's always hanging around our yard. So far it seems too skittish, but I keep scaring it when I open the door, so I don't blame it for running away. XD
So i live in the city and one day a cat ended up on my front porch. My dad let me take him in the house and he let us keep him (we named him Skillet). He slept with me almost every night, walked with me outside (he was an indoor outdoor cat) and pretty much never left my side, until we moved. We moved into a bigger apartment and he had to become an outdoor cat. He missed being inside, eventually disappeared, and i havent seen him since.

QOTD: I actually found my cutie chewy let me tell you the story 😁. I was letting my dogs out than my dog jax walked over to this dog. And i thought omg it is the cutest thing ever!!!!!!! Soo I picked up this dog and brought him in my yard after petting him a while I decided to let him be on his own but he wouldn't go! This dog was skinny to the bone and when I went to pet him I felt his spine. I gave him food and water and he chowed it down. When my dad got home from work we decided we should keep him over the weekend than take him to the animal shelter. Bad idea cause I suddenly got attached to this dog. Than we decided to keep him so we gave him a name and that name was chewy. What's funny was a couple of months after. We heard in a house we live by they put all animals in a animal shelter from a pet hoarding house. I'm glad I kept my chewy cause he is my everything my best friend and he could've died out their.

so, i live down the street from a beach and my mom and i walked down there with my dog. The park next to the beach was covered in garbage so i started to pick it up. I had to go to the beach to get to the trash can so went i went over there, i saw a cute gray cat sitting in a hole in the sand. I sat a few feet away from it and slowly got closer and tried to pet it. He got up and came up to me and i was petting with him and playing with him. He was sooo cute and followed me back home.
One day, my brother and I were on a little walk down the street, OK? OK, and we say a cute cat just laying there, it was whit and black, it saw us and walked over to me. It like rubbed against me and was all like, "MEOW MEOW PET ME!" So, I pet it, and it was happy, but then we had to go back to the house, so I left the cat there, and never saw it again. :) :( YAY cats! And aww I wanna see my kitty friend again!
Yes I have befriended a stray dog once. It was about 2 years ago when it was walking maybe limping I cant remember but we let it roam around our backyard. We gave it some water but it escaped and I couldn't find it but it gets better a week later it ran into our backyard but we called the animal shelter at least I got 3 hours until the animal shelter got there but it was time to let it go!
