QOTD: My family had recently decided to go to L.A., I have only left the Hawaiian Islands twice. As were driving around we were a bit hungry after landing so we got into our car and went around looking for Taco Bell. We finally found one by some really busy, expensive mall. As driving into it their was a curb we had to turn in, and my brother decided to make a joke saying, "Hey watch out for run over the curb." My aunty then laughed and said full of confidence, "Don't worry I won't climb the curb." Right she said that she turned and we ended up right on the curb. We then cracked up laughing after that happened, so much we were still laughing we were ordering. Now for the "strange" store closing times, I really don't know. I have just so used to it that I never asked that question. So yeah hope you guys are having fun. (Mahalo a Hui Hou! E pili mau na pomaika’i ia ‘oe)
AOTD: In my city, there have been 2 separate accidents this past month in the exact same spot! There is a really old underpass (train-tracks above it) in the downtown core and there are signs all around saying "no trucks" because the underpass is way too small for their height. When trains come through the downtown core and backup traffic, impatient drivers will detour to the underpass and some "smart" truck drivers decided to ignore the signage and ended up having the top of their trucks sheared off by the tunnel! Literally the whole city is laughing at them!
I am from Hawaii. and the hours are wobbly because we are laid back, we are more natural and we don't work at night. Also going in the beach at night is kapu that means illegal.
QOTD: I've *done* a stupid accident, not a driving one though. One Sunday, I was running tech for elementary kids room at my church when we were doing worship. I was talking with my brother while I was showing the lyrics on-screen when I got distracted and accidentally restarted the song(because we were going along with the song). The bad thin is, I still from time-to-time make similar mistakes

OH MY GOSH I HAD A PET DUCK THAT LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THOSE ONES IN THE VIDEO!! Their called Muscovy Ducks and they are freaking adorable and having one as a pet was amazing! ***** You and Amanda are relationship goals. I watch your videos all the time and I ship Mattanda so much!
I went with my grandma to the market and I have no idea what she was thinking, but she drove through one of those flowerbeds in the parking lot! The dirt was all over the street and the flowers squashed. It was like that for weeks until someone finally cleaned it up.

When I was learning how to drive for my driver licence exam I was on a square for training driving fluently back and forward and next to me was a woman, who was so stressed about driving that instead of changing to reverse she switched the gear to the first and pushed gas and she drove through 2 fences in front of her.
I live in a townhouse so our neighbors of course have parking spots right next to ours. One time, our neighbor somehow managed to drive over the curb and went far enough to run over our light post. She literally flattened it. Then, she tried to say that it wasn't her fault when she was the only one involved. We even saw her do it! Kinda glad she moved out a while ago...
One of my friends with their family was driving in a rural area and came across a giant puddle. It barely rains here, and we both love driving through puddles, so they did. But what they didn't know was it was so deep that no one drives near it even in perfect weather. Literally no exaggeration, it's a GIANT crater. Long story short, there car got stuck and got filled with water, and I believe had to get it towed.
Known fact: Black sand beaches are created by lava rocks being crushed up by the waves and the current of the ocean and because coral can't grow in the lava rocks so their is less white... AND the hours are like that because ITS HOT and we wanna get home to our ohana... AND next time you go to Hawaii got to Kaui you'll love it it's over populated with chickens but that's because their is no mongoose to eat the chicken eggs... BTW SORRY SO LATE!!
There was a car parked on the side of the road with nobody in it once and it was right next to a ditch. Well the genius that parked it put it on the side of the ditch so it was on an extreme angle. Well it was a really windy day and I actually saw the car slowly roll over onto its back after a big gust of wind came through. It was pretty stupid and very funny! Also, guys this seems amazing, so happy for you and kind of wish I could be in Hawaii because this place ssuuuccckkss. So glad you two are having a great time!
Qotd: last winter we got a lot of snow and my cheer gym had plowed the parking lot and shove the snow against the curb. My brother was picking me up one time and the parking lot was full so he thought he could just pull over the snow. Well when we pulled away the "snow" that was actually ice pulled off the right side of his fender.
My best friend's dad let her drive right after she got her temps- it was her first time driving. She was supposed to go around the circle in their neighborhood but freaked out when she saw another car join the circle and veered to the right. She ramped up onto one of the decorative boulders and go the car stuck. The mechanic that took care of the car gave her the tie rod as a gift because he said that he had never seen one bent the way she managed to bend it.

First thing I thought was 'did somebody just crash, leave the evidence and drive away?' There was even a bit of the car bonnet and a street sign!

Instead of the projected back drop fading to black, it came up with a text box... in front of a packed room. Luckily a tab (a large cloth used for backdrops) was pulled across so that It was hidden. I was later told that I had managed to hit the left shift button and the F8 button. I was mortifed, but everyone took it really well.
Hey, I don't know if you are still actually there, or just uploading videos from there, but seriously, if you love coffee, you need to get some Hawaiian *Kona* coffee. It is the BEST coffee in the world! My husband used to go there for the military and I always made him bring me back a couple of bags of it. Its not cheap, but it is sooo worth it!! One time when sight-seeing there, he came across a coffee plantation that was selling it's own coffee beans in brown paper bags. That one particularly was the best I've had! Home grown! Seriously, take home some bags of Kona coffee from there! (and send some to me, pleeeaaasse!)
Here in Portugal we have black sand beaches too, on the Madeira islands group. As far as I know, that's the only place where we have black sand beach :)
For the HI times, it's mostly bc it's very local and also like you said, it's like a relaxed culture, Who needs coffee after 4? Though Starbucks is always open here. :)
Last Week at my school there was this old couple trying to leave the school. There is a roundabout and off it there is a way for cars to go in and out and there is a way for people to walk on. The couple drove on the path were people walk and at the end there is a small set of stairs, they didnt see the stairs and the drove straight to in and got their car stuck :D They were there for about an hour trying to get the car free
Saw a car on its side one time, with and older guy next to it. He was the driver. My dad went up to ask if he was okay. Came back laughing saying the old guy was saying he has no idea the car could go that fast! SMH
QOTD: This isn't an "accident", per se, but I used to work at a Hollywood Video movie rental place, and I was heading to work. It was about a ten minute drive from my parents and it was all residential (no highways, thank goodness). I stopped at a stop sign and was about to turn right when I looked over and on the drivers side window was a BIG red wasp! I panicked and forgot to turn the wheel and ran onto a median. When I looked back at the wasp I realized it was outside of the window instead of inside with me, and it flew away. Luckily there were no other drivers on the road, but I got a weird look from the runner on the opposite side of the street. No damage, no injuries, just scary.

Stupid accident: Walking from the back of the Target parking lot to the store (cause I live there, duh), and watched two cars both back out of their parking spots at the same time without looking and they gently bumped their back bumpers. First thing is first, DON'T TAKE SAND FROM ANY BEACH. It is literally illegal to do so. Second thing, the reason stores are open at weird times is because, chances are, you are shopping at a small business, run by a family. Not to mention you are on (what I'm going to assume is) Hawaiʻi island (or Big Island). It is very rural and rustic on that island and you won't find as many "normal" store hours there as you might find on Oʻahu.
Yay you went to a place I mentioned before! :D Isn't it so cool?! At the time I went, my sisters and I joked around that this where the Orcs have their vacation cause we're nerds like that haha! The green sand beach is definitely a hike though.
QOTD: A few years ago I was at the Michigan FIRST robotics state championship, and the hotel we stayed at had an extended roof at the front entrance that cars could drive under. My team was hanging out in the hotel lobby, and we heard a very loud noise. Someone had mistakenly thought their truck would fit through it, but they were wrong and the truck got stuck between the roof and the ground.
Hi Matt and Amanda, I follow you both on your other channels and just jumped here. Anyway, I'm from Hawaii, born and raised. So yeah the hours are werid like EVERYTHING closes at like 9 or 10 at night, because of the way Hawaii is. The Islands have next to no night life, and everyone works in the day and has some fun late then goes sleep. The shave iced place is open 10 - 2 because its the hottest point in the day for Hawaii. I'm living in Vegas now and 4 is the hottest point which is odd for me. Another way to look at is everything is Hawaiian time, meaning "we gonna get there, when we get there." XD the laid back style. Anyway, wanted to let you know that.
my 7th grade year at a church camp, my leader was backing into the camping spot but didnt realize there was a tree and backed right into it, and to this day there is a dent in the church vechical.
Well my "silly accident" wasn't really an accident, but a series of unfortunate events hahaha so my car is only a '96 but is such a crappy car that it constantly is dying on me. It had like 3 different batteries in 1 year at one point. So one day, I have to drive out to my college campus for a meeting, but my campus is about 25 minutes away from home. As I'm going to leave the school, my car just will not start. The radio and everything worked, it just wouldn't start at all. Campus safety had to jump it and I drove straight home. Well I had to go back out to that town again because I had to pick up some stuff for a trip, so I took my moms van since mine was not to be trusted. As I'm leaving the mall for home later that day, that car has also died. It was so dead I couldn't even lock the doors with the clicker part, I had to do it individually. It was also about 90° that day and I was parked in the sun. I had to wait about 40 minutes that time for someone to come and fix it. Mom also came to check it out in the only car we had left at home tha day which is an extremely old truck that has trouble running too, so that day was very...interesting lol
It's so funny you guys going on about black sand beaches when where I live (New Zealand) all of our beaches are black sand beaches! There might be one or 2 white sand beaches, but I've never seen them D:
My cousin turned 15 and her older brother was teaching her how to drive not fully just letting her sit in the front something little but while she was turning she hit the and hit a little of the mailbox.
This is a response to the question of the day. I was in the car with my grandma and I saw a teacher from my school that I don't like in his car. I told her that I didn't like this teacher and that he got me in trouble for no reason. Literally 5 seconds later the teacher pushed into the car in front of him. It wasn't a bad accident and nobody got hurt. I saw him after I ran some errands with my grandma and both of his bumpers were crushed
Our car got into a silly accident. We had a canoe on the top of our car and we drove into a parking garage that had a bar hanging from the ceiling(showing the height limit) and it got hooked onto our canoe and almost got ripped off. Luckily we stopped before it did
Go to Mrs.Barry's cookies. I have lived in Hawaii for 6 years and I still don't understand why there are such wonky hours. It might be because at around 2:30-3:30 kids get out of school.
I don't know if this counts as an accident, but we were driving on the highway (I think) and we were above other cars on a bridge type thing and below we saw a car driving backwards down the long street but the street was relatively empty so no one got hurt (well at least I don't think so) it looked like he was just in reverse rolling.
My twin brother and I used to go to school together in our car. One morning my brother was driving, we stopped at a turn and there was car in front of us, our car was moving slowly but we didn't notice because we were sleepy xD So we bumped into the car in front of us and I think it was a manual because it was so easily pushed, anyways, it doesn't seem like he noticed he just drove off like nothing happened. It seems like he was sleepy too haha
I can't say I have seen silly accidents, but I do have a natural talent of tripping on a flat surface. I'd say the chances of me tripping would be 7 to 10. meaning 7 out of 10 times, you'd see me stumble upon nothing on a perfectly clear, even, flat ground.
Your silly accident kinda reminds me of one my sister and I had back in our early 20's. We were going to a nightclub where a guy she liked a lot worked at, so she was determined to go there, even though it was ridiculously crowded and there was no parking available. So she's driving (in her Gremlin) and decided to go in this spot that was not a parking place. She somehow got two wheels on the left side of her car over a high curb bump, and we got stuck and could not get the car off of the curb. Like, it was right down the middle of the car and we couldn't back off of it, or go forward, or turn the wheel to get back across it. It was hilarious, really! We wound up going into the club and telling the guy she liked, and he got a few of his friends to go out there and literally *lift* the car over the curb! Strong dudes and a tiny Gremlin (ugliest car ever!). She was so embarrassed, but they still wound up getting together anyways. =D
I saw an accident once while driving down the road, and there was a snowmobiler pulling out of the store, assuming he just bought the snowmobile. A few seconds later he ran into a sign, flipped over, and the snowmobile broke into a few pieces. The guy then got up and started picking up the pieces. I'm glad he wasn't hurt, but I still don't know how he didn't see the sign.
I live in Puerto Rico and it's also a vacation island but we dont have those kind of hours. We have normal hours, so i dont think thats the answer. Idk i may be wrong.
QOTD: Last Sunday my sister was with her friends family and they were gonna meet my family and I at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and they got to a red light and Eliana's (my sisters friend) mom got to a red light she meant to push the break but she pushed the excelerate pedal and hit the person in front of them. Turns out the driver they hit had just bought that car too!
I was 16 and had a learners permit, my sister was visiting and let me drive her car. I didn't realize she turned the tires to the curb. I jumped the curb and like an idiot I freaked and pressed the gas more and hit a tree. Not hard it only dented the bumper but so embarassing. 😩 but I have never been in an accident since. Because I don't drive 😝

No in fact blck sand is Iron ore crushed and as seen went you gold pan it sinks to the bottom and when you melt the black sand its used in varius things like tools which is just iron anyways

Not really an accident but still silly. I once had to reverse out of a narrow driveway (right after I passed my driving test) and I didn't see that they had a bin out at the end of the driveway. I only saw it when my car pulled up next to it and instead of getting out to move it I kept reversing and pushed it over with my side mirror >.
Guy was driving on a four lane road and reached down for some cologne because he was on his way to a date. He swerved across all four lanes and crashes into six brand new cars in a car dealship lot.
#QOTD hey guys, I have a awesome story about a silly accident that i've been , it was 10 years ago, was on my vacation and i just got a new bike , I was over excited to walk around with it, but at the time the bike was little big for me, so I couldn't control it perfect, I decided to give a try one sunday around my block, and they have a beetle car (or as we call over here fusca) parking in the side of the street, i was doing a curve and didn't see the car, i try to stopeted but my hands and feet didn't agree with me and I bump into the car and fel over my bike(it was funny), nobody get hurt, and the car was not damaged, but i still got grounded for a week, to smash into a parking car...still funny to remember XD

I stopped at a stop sign and was about to turn right when I looked over and on the drivers side window was a BIG red wasp! I panicked and forgot to turn the wheel and ran onto a median. When I looked back at the wasp I realized it was outside of the window instead of inside with me, and it flew away. Luckily there were no other drivers on the road, but I got a weird look from the runner on the opposite side of the street. No damage, no injuries, just scary.

Stupid accident: Walking from the back of the Target parking lot to the store (cause I live there, duh), and watched two cars both back out of their parking spots at the same time without looking and they gently bumped their back bumpers. Doofuses
First thing is first, DON'T TAKE SAND FROM ANY BEACH. It is literally illegal to do so.
Second thing, the reason stores are open at weird times is because, chances are, you are shopping at a small business, run by a family. Not to mention you are on (what I'm going to assume is) Hawaiʻi island (or Big Island). It is very rural and rustic on that island and you won't find as many "normal" store hours there as you might find on Oʻahu.
My ex-friend and her family has actually been to that black sanded beach before in Hawaii. It looked really cool.

QOTD: A few years ago I was at the Michigan FIRST robotics state championship, and the hotel we stayed at had an extended roof at the front entrance that cars could drive under. My team was hanging out in the hotel lobby, and we heard a very loud noise. Someone had mistakenly thought their truck would fit through it, but they were wrong and the truck got stuck between the roof and the ground.
Hi Matt and Amanda, I follow you both on your other channels and just jumped here. Anyway, I'm from Hawaii, born and raised. So yeah the hours are werid like EVERYTHING closes at like 9 or 10 at night, because of the way Hawaii is. The Islands have next to no night life, and everyone works in the day and has some fun late then goes sleep. The shave iced place is open 10 - 2 because its the hottest point in the day for Hawaii. I'm living in Vegas now and 4 is the hottest point which is odd for me. Another way to look at is everything is Hawaiian time, meaning "we gonna get there, when we get there." XD the laid back style. Anyway, wanted to let you know that.

my 7th grade year at a church camp, my leader was backing into the camping spot but didnt realize there was a tree and backed right into it, and to this day there is a dent in the church vechical.
Well my "silly accident" wasn't really an accident, but a series of unfortunate events hahaha so my car is only a '96 but is such a crappy car that it constantly is dying on me. It had like 3 different batteries in 1 year at one point. So one day, I have to drive out to my college campus for a meeting, but my campus is about 25 minutes away from home. As I'm going to leave the school, my car just will not start. The radio and everything worked, it just wouldn't start at all. Campus safety had to jump it and I drove straight home. Well I had to go back out to that town again because I had to pick up some stuff for a trip, so I took my moms van since mine was not to be trusted. As I'm leaving the mall for home later that day, that car has also died. It was so dead I couldn't even lock the doors with the clicker part, I had to do it individually. It was also about 90° that day and I was parked in the sun. I had to wait about 40 minutes that time for someone to come and fix it. Mom also came to check it out in the only car we had left at home tha day which is an extremely old truck that has trouble running too, so that day was very...interesting lol
It's so funny you guys going on about black sand beaches when where I live (New Zealand) all of our beaches are black sand beaches! There might be one or 2 white sand beaches, but I've never seen them D:

My cousin turned 15 and her older brother was teaching her how to drive not fully just letting her sit in the front something little but while she was turning she hit the and hit a little of the mailbox.
This is a response to the question of the day. I was in the car with my grandma and I saw a teacher from my school that I don't like in his car. I told her that I didn't like this teacher and that he got me in trouble for no reason. Literally 5 seconds later the teacher pushed into the car in front of him. It wasn't a bad accident and nobody got hurt. I saw him after I ran some errands with my grandma and both of his bumpers were crushed
Our car got into a silly accident. We had a canoe on the top of our car and we drove into a parking garage that had a bar hanging from the ceiling(showing the height limit) and it got hooked onto our canoe and almost got ripped off. Luckily we stopped before it did

I don't know if this counts as an accident, but we were driving on the highway (I think) and we were above other cars on a bridge type thing and below we saw a car driving backwards down the long street but the street was relatively empty so no one got hurt (well at least I don't think so) it looked like he was just in reverse rolling.
My twin brother and I used to go to school together in our car. One morning my brother was driving, we stopped at a turn and there was car in front of us, our car was moving slowly but we didn't notice because we were sleepy xD
So we bumped into the car in front of us and I think it was a manual because it was so easily pushed, anyways, it doesn't seem like he noticed he just drove off like nothing happened. It seems like he was sleepy too haha

I can't say I have seen silly accidents, but I do have a natural talent of tripping on a flat surface. I'd say the chances of me tripping would be 7 to 10. meaning 7 out of 10 times, you'd see me stumble upon nothing on a perfectly clear, even, flat ground.
Your silly accident kinda reminds me of one my sister and I had back in our early 20's. We were going to a nightclub where a guy she liked a lot worked at, so she was determined to go there, even though it was ridiculously crowded and there was no parking available. So she's driving (in her Gremlin) and decided to go in this spot that was not a parking place. She somehow got two wheels on the left side of her car over a high curb bump, and we got stuck and could not get the car off of the curb. Like, it was right down the middle of the car and we couldn't back off of it, or go forward, or turn the wheel to get back across it. It was hilarious, really! We wound up going into the club and telling the guy she liked, and he got a few of his friends to go out there and literally *lift* the car over the curb! Strong dudes and a tiny Gremlin (ugliest car ever!). She was so embarrassed, but they still wound up getting together anyways. =D
My friend has trouble with doors sometimes... So one time, she tried to push a pull door
I saw an accident once while driving down the road, and there was a snowmobiler pulling out of the store, assuming he just bought the snowmobile. A few seconds later he ran into a sign, flipped over, and the snowmobile broke into a few pieces. The guy then got up and started picking up the pieces. I'm glad he wasn't hurt, but I still don't know how he didn't see the sign.
I live in Puerto Rico and it's also a vacation island but we dont have those kind of hours. We have normal hours, so i dont think thats the answer. Idk i may be wrong.
QOTD: Last Sunday my sister was with her friends family and they were gonna meet my family and I at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and they got to a red light and Eliana's (my sisters friend) mom got to a red light she meant to push the break but she pushed the excelerate pedal and hit the person in front of them. Turns out the driver they hit had just bought that car too!
I was 16 and had a learners permit, my sister was visiting and let me drive her car. I didn't realize she turned the tires to the curb. I jumped the curb and like an idiot I freaked and pressed the gas more and hit a tree. Not hard it only dented the bumper but so embarassing. 😩 but I have never been in an accident since.

No in fact blck sand is Iron ore crushed and as seen went you gold pan it sinks to the bottom and when you melt the black sand its used in varius things like tools which is just iron anyways

Yes my dad was trying to park under a tree and he was in reverse and he hit the ga real quick and ran into the tree. He got out and went whoops well I guess we can get a new car. ( mind I say he hated that car because it was hot pink and my moms.)

Not really an accident but still silly. I once had to reverse out of a narrow driveway (right after I passed my driving test) and I didn't see that they had a bin out at the end of the driveway. I only saw it when my car pulled up next to it and instead of getting out to move it I kept reversing and pushed it over with my side mirror >.

#QOTD hey guys, I have a awesome story about a silly accident that i've been , it was 10 years ago, was on my vacation and i just got a new bike , I was over excited to walk around with it, but at the time the bike was little big for me, so I couldn't control it perfect, I decided to give a try one sunday around my block, and they have a beetle car (or as we call over here fusca) parking in the side of the street, i was doing a curve and didn't see the car, i try to stopeted but my hands and feet didn't agree with me and I bump into the car and fel over my bike(it was funny), nobody get hurt, and the car was not damaged, but i still got grounded for a week, to smash into a parking car...still funny to remember XD
