      It’s How You Finish
Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.
      -Philippians 2:16
The most important part of the race is the finish line. Yes, the start is important, but you can have a bad start and still finish well. However, if you finish badly, it doesn’t matter how well you started. You’re simply tired, and it was all for nothing. Finishing is everything.
In Acts 20, the apostle Paul talked about finishing the race of life well. He said, “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God” (verse 24)
When we’re young, we may think that we’re just starting our race. But we don’t know how long our lives will be. That is why we want to run the race of life well. And the objective is to finish well too.
In the New Kings James Version of this verse, Paul says that he wants to finish his race “with joy.” Some Christians have lost their joy. They may have started off their race with joy, but then something happened to them.
Maybe they lost interest in the things of God or other things crowded out their relationship with the Lord. They still do the things that they should as a Christian, but they’re simply going through the motions. And they’re not happy about it.
They need to pray, like the psalmist David, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you”
      (Psalm 51:12)
For the Christian, the race of life is not a sprint; it’s a long-distance run.
As Hebrews encourages us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (12:1-2)
Paul warned about looking back in this race. He said, “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us”
      (Philippians 3:13-14)
You can’t run a good race if you’re looking over your shoulder. You can trip and fall. Don’t look wistfully at the sinful things you used to do. Put it behind you.
Here’s how to run the race well and finish it well: Run it for Jesus. Don’t run it for people. Don’t run it out of mere duty. You have an audience of one. Jesus Christ Himself is watching you. So run for Him.
Don’t just start your race well. Finish it well. And finish it with joy.

Yeah, QoL improvements are missing, but hey... when I play HD it's a bit like playing Nethack. It's nostalgia, taking time for moves, checking whether everything is in place. In the right mood it's cool, in the wrong mood it's annoying.

Ok, i'm 7 mins into the video and it seems it's exactly what I've been looking for. I've played this game about 15 years ago (or even more), loved it, but never actually learned to play. Now I'm too old to learn everything from the scratch, so you explaining your every decision is extremally helpful. I've known the basics for years now, but never learned to utilize them well. For example: I knew making multiple heroes and breaking big stack into multiple 1 man stacks are good, but didn't exactly know how to utilize this knowledge.
Btw I'm back to the game after decade or so thanks to new Factory faction:)

Heey Norovo, last month I finally completed all steam achievements and so far this is my only steam game i 100% completed :)
Completing the campaign was quite easy for me, except 6th campaign (Song for The father) and the great battle to recapture the capital gave me lot of problems. I finished the game for the first time in my youth, in early 2000s and then it didn't cause me so much trouble as i remember.
Guess I'm getting old :) greetings from Poland mate and thanks for your work!

This is like my all-time favorite game. When steam made it available it was like 30 bucks for five of the games. It was like Heroes 3, 5, and 7. It was a steal when it dropped down to like $15 for everything. I played this Heroes game on the computer when it first came out and then as time went on we jumped to Heroes. 3. I'm kind of saddened you couldn't get the expansions, but honestly we didn't have that much experience with the expansion. So be nice to learn from what we can see how you play the game. Especially when my friends like he calls the last level and the campaign b******* because you get like three four bases and you get bombarded from the very beginning

This was my First lets Play HoMaM Video and i think i learned a lot.
For example i thought Splitting your weakest unit is Something you can do, but is Not really important. I was really surprised when you killed the unicorns at the beginning.
Normaly i spend the first week building towards the Capitol and i thought starting without resources is really Impossible to win. But i think you got really lucky with the free Grail town.
I go much more for resources and thought all the time Take the Goldmine Back, Go to the watermill, there is a Sulfur mine only blocked by a couple of gargoyles in the West!
But after all thanks for showing how much you can do with Low Level Units.

1:20:06 just gang up on the dendroids with everything, they always reach but you have a massive Attack skill advantage and probably kill a lot of them :)
Should lose less troops overall presumably.
Edit: Same mistake around 3:00:50, if you sacrifice the bird (take retal from demons & block unicorn) to let the wolves completely demolish them, you're probably losing less overall. (or actually, watching further, AI played that so stupidly with the Blind, it probably actually worked in your favour nonetheless, pfft)
Still, great video (even withthe nuisance HD Edition poses), sorry for the nitpicking :D

When you're on a map object that has an interaction when you first step onto it (whirlpools, windmills, portals, etc.), rather than moving off and back to it, or moving further into the whirlpool, you can instead hit spacebar to interact with it without moving. This lets you jump between multiple destination portals and whirlpools without wasting extra movement points.

I don't think this is a feature of the HD edition as i'm fairly certain Noro already knows this and uses the spacebar often in his other playthroughs.

Watching HD edition is weird - you know it's the same game, but there's something slightly wrong.

Why didn't u hit the unicorn with the 18 stack of ogre magi? With the 20 attack bonus from the graal, they would've been obliterated no?

Is there any controls that make your gameplay quick in the hd mod I’m new to heroes and I’m so tired of it taking 3 hours to split my units

is it just me or do the HD edition town models actually look more like, blocky or plasticine-y than the HD mod ones? I was actually quite struck by the difference in this video! Still really enjoyed the playthrough though :). It's hard to ruin a great game like H3

Not bad but you still need lots to learn. 1st thing you do, you make archers in the town and upgarde them for double dmg if you can so you can take most mines, then worry about money.😃 And you can save and load before and after a battle to reduce the loses.😅 Another thing, whe you're day 7, chose between Citadel and Griffin Tower, go for Citadel because you have no griffins, so better to stack up the archers and pikmen than having new creatures.

Use any unit. Just make sure each hero always has a factory dude. Just use fly etc, no need to make it extra long as it is a showcase.
Goodluck with the move, hope nothing breaks. Oh and 3 speed is nicer.

Oh man, I've played this game all my childhood and completely forgot what it was called. Good thing we have Chat GPT nowadays which helped me find it. This brings back so many memories
