We have a 70 year old man at church who was set free of homosexuality after his entire life. He cried out to God and said he wanted to be holy as God is holy and our Lord delivered him. It's a beautiful testimony.
I talked to one guy who has been living in a monogamous homosexual relationship with the same partner for 45 years until his partner died for age related reasons and then this person got saved too.
I've lost friends once they found out I was Christian. Come to find out, they were "in the closet," and automatically snapped to the conclusion that because I'm Christian that I hate them. I didn't get to explain to them that I don't hate them... Just straight up RAGE cussed me out and dropped me. I didn't get a chance to explain that while I don't agree with their lifestyle, let's keep in mind they don't agree with mine, either. Didn't get to point out how intolerant *they're* being. Nope. Just RAGED at me, out of left field and left me there like 😲 Oh, but *I'm* the hateful, intolerant one. 🤷 This was all when I became a new Christian. I still don't have a problem telling people I'm Christian, but if I find out someone is homosexual, I will explain the above first, as a seque. Just because someone likes soccer but you like hockey, does it mean you hate each other? We tell them that what they're doing is wrong out of love; we don't want them to go to Hell. But they see it as hate.😞 If you tell a child not to put his or her hand on the stove because it's hot, is *that* hate? Of course not! You're trying to warn them of danger. But it's seen as hate.
Yeah its sad they don't see who's the intolerant one. I also understand that some Christians have been less than loving to everyone claiming to be perfect and better than everyone. Plus rampant programming keeps telling them Christianity is the enemy of their lifestyle which they convince them is their identity. I think their identity is much bigger than that. Keep reaching out to them, treat them with love. You will minister to them by your love and actions. Maybe one day they will be your friends again and know Jesus one day for themselves and become children of God.

You seem to be upset, but the fate of Protestantism is that it has at least as many opinions as it has denominations. But what is it? With regard to the christian bible the dogma is 1600 years old. The catholic church canonized the new testament by recognizing a number of scriptures that floated in the ancient world, were divinely inspired (aka the word of God) at the end of the fourth/beginning of the fifth century. With regard to the church Jesus founded (Mat 16,18) the dogma is 2000 years old. So the first 400 years of Christianity there was no new testament but the catholic church that has/had, like nowadays, the final word in faith and morals (e.g. see Acts 15). Only the catholic church can trace back its origin to the event in Mat. 16.18. The gates of hell will not prevail against her.

I found myself giving into that as well and just accepting the world how it was, when before I used to argue every nonsense. I will pray for you 'cause there's a way out. God always grants us that when we repent and go back to Him. I will advice that you pray, fast, read the Word and keep yourself away or tone down your intake on worldly influences, whether that be movies, shows, music, etc. Also, friendships and family members that are liberal and take this matters lightly. If you realize your predicament, you're not so numb beyond repentance. Your desire to change and request for prayer are possible (not certain) signs the Spirit is working in your life to draw you to Him. Respond to that call, immerse yourself in the Word and in prayers of surrender, read (and reread) the Gospel and pray God makes it real in your heart. Also, find a good Bible-centered church and talk with a pastor/elder. God bless!

What our Lord Almighty has stated in his Word is what is stated. Our God is a God of immense love, mercy and compassion but his standards are not negotiable. Unless the church looks for God's presence and will and it's filled with power, authority, anointment and sanctification by the Holy Spirit, they will be swayed to other currents of influences and mindsets incompatible with God's principles. Without holiness, we will not see the Lord. The church MUST return to the WORD and to GOD. No more needs to be said.
My pastor and associate pastors don’t teach this, however, my women’s study affirms a member who is gay. I had addressed this with our Bible study leader a year ago. She dismissed my comment that we are all sinners. A month ago our small group asked who were our mentors. She said a person who supported her when she came out. I sent her an email expressing my concern about how she is living, and what the Bible says about same sex relationships. She has not responded. So I had a zoom meeting with my small group leader and her husband. Her husband believes the Bible implicitly. Her husband suggested I contact the small group leader pastor. The pastor immediately contacted the Bible study leader to address this with her. The husband’s of these Bible studies believe the Bible the way it is written, but not their wives. The other pastors are trying to figure out how to approach this wisely. Please pray this issue would be handled biblically.

Taking 3 minutes and Reading Romas 1 should put this to bed pretty quickly. It's clear as day what the correct position is in the New Testament. If the church you attend dilly-dallies for too long on this, then, they are more interested in pleasing the world than in obeying God's word.

For example, many churches do not allow people who are living together but are unmarried to be congregants. Matthew 19:4-5 reads “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh" This addresses gender identity, gender fluidity, the trans population and homosexuality. Jesus says men are men and women are women and only acknowledges that a man should be joined with a wife. He only refers to a man and a wife because that is the only legitimate marriage/approved sexual relationship.
Exactly. And if you look more into it, male and female can create life, but same sex couples can't. This next verse may be used in another way, but I believe it fits here too. Look at Matthew 7:19, "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." There is no good fruit in the LGBTQ community because they don't follow God's law.
I call them Libertarian Christians. In my experience, if you sit down and actually talk with people like this you’ll quickly find that it’s not just a “one issue” deal. That is, if they’re lenient on same-sex marriage then they’re also fine with cohabiting before marriage (and are probably doing it) and the like. They only draw the line at “obvious” sins that they’re detached from/don’t directly affect them, like polygamy and murder.

Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians? 2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? 3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence. 4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? 5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. At the end it all amounts to who do you love the most, God or yourself?. If you love God above all thinks (to love Jesus is to deny yourself and trust God) you will do his will but if you love yourself above all thinks you will do the thinks that make you happy (love, all types of pleasure, leisure, ect) and make you contempt. When you set your self esteem and self centered attitude/goal higher than your love for God then you make a bridge (spiritual bridge with a locked gate) between you and God. God wants to have an intimate spiritual relation with us, he wants to be 100% a part of our lives and decisions so he could help us make the right ones in all parts of our lives. We weren't made for the purpose of self exaltation and for the purpose of seeking a happy and enjoyable live on this earth. We were made for the purpose of sharing God's kingdom , love and friendship with God. Adam was considered God's friend, he spoke to God on a one to one basis, and to worship God in spirit and in truth we must reach that relationship through Christ. If we understand that reality we will want to reconnect with God and reestablish that intimate relationship we were meant to have from the beginning of creation but to reestablish that relationship we must accept God's terms and conditions (it was man who rebelled against God and disobeyed God not the other way around). The starting point is accepting by faith his grace through Jesus atonement in the cross. When we do that our sinful carnal nature is buried with Christ and our spiritual nature is risen with our Lord and Savior in his resurrection. That's exactly what Saint Paul meant when he was describing different sins that people do (homosexuals, effeminate, murderers, idolaters, ect) then he goes on saying that some of them were like that but by the grace of God they were transformed.. If you are struggling with homosexuality, pornography or any other sexual sin but you allow Jesus, The Holy Spirit and The Father to enter your live and break the chains that have you under submission and imprisoned you will never be alone and an outcast from God's Kingdom!. Take my word for it, I once WAS an outcast from God's kingdom but by the grace and mercy of God I am NOW counted among His children!. I think people know in their heart this is wrong. That’s why most of the world spends a majority of their time trying to paint real Christians as hateful. Or trying to get them to agree that their not sinning. If people really believed what they were doing was ok. They would rest on that and not care what anyone else thought. Every Sin we commit, we reap the consequences of it here on earth, this is God's justice. "Favoring allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally" is NOT the same as "affirming same-sex marriage," in my opinion, and I dislike that they're treated as equal in this video. Do I think you _should_ marry a man if you're a man, or a woman if you're a woman? Of course I don't, and I never will. But the world's law has nothing to do with whether or not people sin. It's _God's kindness_ that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4), not illegality. The world's concept of marriage already wasn't the Biblical one to begin with, and that will never change. Same-sex romance will exist regardless. I really don't think that recognizing it from a legal standpoint changes anything, honestly. With that being said, do I favor allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally? I'm more-so indifferent about it than against it for the reasons above. I will never _affirm_ same-sex romance. It's the same thing with pornography. How on _earth_ are you going to enforce porn's illegality, especially when things as horrific as the dark web exist? It'd be prohibition all over again. Almost every male (and more females than you think) would be in prison. Do I affirm the porn industry? Not in the slightest. But I don't think that making it illegal solves the problem. Although I absolutely think traffickers should be punished by law here on earth because they pose an imminent threat to the humanity of others, throwing people in jail or denying them marital representation will not change their hearts. Great answer Pastor Piper! My two cents: You show practical, tangible love to homosexuals just like Jesus showed kindness to you "while you where yet a unredeemed sinner." At the same time, you warn them of the coming judgement in a heartfelt way and share the gospel message with precision and passion as the LORD gives you the opportunity. @dale About both knowing the Greek. An example. The Greek word "Arsenokoite" is interpreted as a homosexual in 1 Cor. 6:9 by MacArthur, but the word is never used, anywhere, in the Greek to mean "homosexual." Because I go to other sources that mention the word in the Greek around the time of Paul and go with those interpretations, my Greek understanding of the word is correct and not MacArthur's who puts his own interpretation of the word unlike myself.
@dale Two things. Going to outside sources is what all scholars/theologians do on both side of this debate when trying to understand certain Biblical passages and words. There aren't any need for "interpretations' with these outside sources because they're meaning is usually pretty clear-cut. The closest instance of the word 'arsenokoite' around the time of Paul is from a pagan source called the Sibylline Oracles that uses the word for an economic exploitation, We look at that and say; "O.K. that's probably what the word means." Now 'arsenokoite' is tricky because it's in a vice list with no context, BUT has word has been used by early church fathers and other texts to mean everything from pederasty to idolatry practices making it harder for us to know what interpretation Paul had in mind, but we can say the word was never used to mean a homosexual. So no sound interpreter of the word can say this means "homosexual" if the word was never used in any other instance to convey that. If they do, that's called eisegesis, putting your own interpretation in a Bible word or passage that people like MacArthur are blatantly doing with arsenokoite, inventing a modern-day interpretation of the word with having no bases anywhere other than because that's how they want the word to read. I wrote you instances of how the Bible interprets itself and the comment was deleted by this channel author (this time I'm going to copy my comment, so if they try to pull this again, I'll just re-post it... cheeky monkeys). People like MacArthur will tell you Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality, but if you look in the book of Ezekiel, It tells you why Sodom was destroyed, pride and the lack of hospitality they showed other with hospitality being such a big thing in the ancient world, the tribes of Israel went to war over it. Jesus backs this interpretation in the book of Matthew with saying the towns not showing hospitality to the apostles will suffer the same fate as Sodom. So this is the Bible interpreting itself. In this case, showing why Sodom was destroyed in other parts of the Bible. Another example. If you look at Romans 1, it says that men turned to from God into believing a lie. MacArthur will tell you that it's the lie of homosexuality, but if you go to the books of Jeremiah and Isaiah,. idols are called "lies." So now we know it's talking about idolatry and not homosexuality. The Old Testament interpreting what's stated in the New Testament.

This is the fault of church leadership. Started with allowing women to pastor. Downhill from there. Women, by nature (not all, but most) are more sympathetic and emotional, and welcomed in Romans 1 reprobates.
“Those who do such things will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” That contradicts the Gospel of Grace (Faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection causes your sins to be blotted our from the record). Also, the Bible calls lying lips and a proud look “abominations,” just like homosexuality. (That same verse continues: your self-righteousness is as filthy rags.) Furthermore, 2 Corinthians 12:7 is the verse in which Paul explains what it’s like to have sinful tendencies that can’t be overcome. In fact, those tendencies are used to knock him down a peg when he is exalted above his measure. Don’t forget that we are all sinners and we are covered by Grace... so rest in him. There is a difference between personal weaknesses and joyfully, openly defying GOD. Don’t condemn yourselves by condemning homosexuals, whom have just as much access to Grace as you. Only non-believing homosexuals (like every other sin group) will be judged like that. I’m not promoting homosexuality. It’s not on par with heterosexual marriage. It’s a mercy because the simple fact is some people can’t help it. Not affording this sort of mercy can cause other vices to creep up in a state of stress. The Apostle Paul tells us both: keep the Commandments and that we’re incapable of keeping them. So, use GOD’s standards as a reference point while structuring civil laws around what people can be reasonably expected to rein-in. GOD did tell us His standards. But He also tells us that none of us can live up to them. We have a limited ability to choose right and wrong in our fallen flesh. (By the way, none of our flesh enters the Kingdom of Heaven. We get glorified bodies, which correct our current corruptions! You didn’t take that into account.) When GOD puts it on your heart to change something, change it. But, if He doesn’t take a sinful tendency away from an individual, realize that this happens all the time and for EVERY sinful tendency. Do not hypocritically condemn one another. Preach the Gospel of Grace (not works), and leave the rest up to GOD. Don’t promote homosexuality, but give mercies on par with the many mercies you are given for lying, accusing, condemning others, and so forth.
First of, the Bible tells us that is a sin, and an abomination before the sight of God. That is very clear. 2nd, sanctification is a lifetime process, God will sanctify us and get rid of every thing/sin that defiles us. 3rd if you are truly a christian you will never tolerate what nailed Jesus Christ on the cross (sin). So yes preach the True Gospel, preach grace but preach sin as well, cause we should be informed of what is wrong before God. Remember hell is as real as heaven. It is love to tell people that eternal damnation awaits them if they continue practicing homosexuality& homosexual acts.

I think my place in the Body of Christ is to remind others of mercy and forgiveness. Zini Narciso - OK. But, I just want to make sure that people know that none of us are righteous. When we come to faith in Christ’s sacrifice for our sins, burial, and resurrection, His righteousness is credited to us. We don’t earn righteousness any other way. That truth gets lost along the way.
Zini Narciso - I was with you for those first couple sentences. The reason homosexuality doesn’t continue in the Kingdom is that we’re given glorified bodies: a different flesh that isn’t of a sinful nature. Saying that a believer practicing homosexuality in our current flesh bans someone from the Kingdom is a backdoor way of suggesting works again. You’re only held accountable for it in this lifetime if you’re not in Christ.
Those who believe that from a functional point of view men and women are equal will have as their next stop that there is no good reason why two people of the same sex can’t marry and parent. If the only reason we say people of the same sex can’t marry or parent is that there is a verse somewhere which says they cannot it means we have more work to do - to search for God’s heart behind gender. The verse which lays down a rule is of course not to be ignored - but if all we have is a verse that’s not enough - we must seek to understand God’s heart - and keep seeking until we can EVANGELISE in the area of sexuality as well as in any other.
Just because two things are functionally equal doesn’t necessitate that they are interchangeable. That premise is flawed logically. Additionally, anyone who would say that “we have more work to do” as a refutation against scripture means that they are obviously not reading scripture and aligning their life to scripture. Instead, such a person is really saying that he/she would rather align the scripture to how they think/feel. There is danger of allowing false doctrine to corrupt your thinking in this path. Also, there are many scriptures that state that homosexuality is not God’s design. In fact!...you only need to read Romans 1:21-28 to see that God Himself warns that if we form our version of God to what we think is best instead of what he really tells us through his word, then a byproduct would be that men and women in such a society would turn to homosexuality. It’s a direct effect and judgment of a society that seeks to change the attributes of God unto something they want. So now I ask you, is your goal to have a God that makes you feel all warm and tingly, or is it to know what the Bible really says? You gave a hint already by saying that “just because a verse says....we have more work to do.” That one sentence will condemn you in the eyes of God so please repent and turn away from this thinking. Read your bible and don’t try to change what it says because it is the word of the most high. If you cannot do this and instead wish to twist the scriptures then you are not a follower of Christ, but you are self deceived and in danger of deceiving others.

My point was not that we should ignore verses of scripture but that in order for us not to communicate empty rules - legalism - we must seek to understand the heart of God in respect of gender/sexuality. And so my point (responding to your first paragraph) is not that men and women are interchangeable - they are not! Jesus gives us the 2 greatest commandments. If same sex couples can uphold these like heterosexual couples it means other scripture has been misinterpreted. It actually strongly suggests this is the case.
Don’t flame me here but I think the argument is that Paul says alot of things and they sound consistent with God’s message but he was not there to witness Jesus - perhaps the better and more accurate recounting of what Jesus/God had to say comes from the disciples. Too much of the faith is built upon what Paul said and not the orginal 11 disciples - I am sure they talked about a lot of things with Jesus - the fact homosexuality is not in those books means it is an open question. We have a 70 year old man at church who was set free of homosexuality after his entire life. He cried out to God and said he wanted to be holy as God is holy and our Lord delivered him. It's a beautiful testimony.
I talked to one guy who has been living in a monogamous homosexual relationship with the same partner for 45 years until his partner died for age related reasons and then this person got saved too.

I've lost friends once they found out I was Christian. Come to find out, they were "in the closet," and automatically snapped to the conclusion that because I'm Christian that I hate them. Yeah its sad they don't see who's the intolerant one. I also understand that some Christians have been less than loving to everyone claiming to be perfect and better than everyone. Plus rampant programming keeps telling them Christianity is the enemy of their lifestyle which they convince them is their identity. I think their identity is much bigger than that. Keep reaching out to them, treat them with love. You will minister to them by your love and actions. Because when I worked there he mad fun of Jesus all the time and blasphemed him. Telling jokes about Jesus and nails. He wasn’t asking for direction. You seem to be upset, but the fate of Protestantism is that it has at least as many opinions as it has denominations. But what is it? With regard to the christian bible the dogma is 1600 years old. The catholic church canonized the new testament by recognizing a number of scriptures that floated in the ancient world, were divinely inspired (aka the word of God) at the end of the fourth/beginning of the fifth century. With regard to the church Jesus founded (Mat 16,18) the dogma is 2000 years old. So the first 400 years of Christianity there was no new testament but the catholic church that has/had, like nowadays, the final word in faith and morals (e.g. see Acts 15). Only the catholic church can trace back its origin to the event in Mat. 16.18. The gates of hell will not prevail against her.

I found myself giving into that as well and just accepting the world how it was, when before I used to argue every nonsense. I will pray for you 'cause there's a way out. God always grants us that when we repent and go back to Him. I will advice that you pray, fast, read the Word and keep yourself away or tone down your intake on worldly influences, whether that be movies, shows, music, etc. Also, friendships and family members that are liberal and take this matters lightly. If you realize your predicament, you're not so numb beyond repentance. Your desire to change and request for prayer are possible (not certain) signs the Spirit is working in your life to draw you to Him. Respond to that call, immerse yourself in the Word and in prayers of surrender, read (and reread) the Gospel and pray God makes it real in your heart. My pastor and associate pastors don’t teach this, however, my women’s study affirms a member who is gay. I had addressed this with our Bible study leader a year ago. She dismissed my comment that we are all sinners. A month ago our small group asked who were our mentors. She said a person who supported her when she came out. I sent her an email expressing my concern about how she is living, and what the Bible says about same sex relationships. She has not responded. So I had a zoom meeting with my small group leader and her husband. Her husband believes the Bible implicitly. Her husband suggested I contact the small group leader pastor. The pastor immediately contacted the Bible study leader to address this with her. The husband’s of these Bible studies believe the Bible the way it is written, but not their wives. The other pastors are trying to figure out how to approach this wisely. Please pray this issue would be handled biblically.

For example, many churches do not allow people who are living together but are unmarried to be congregants. Harassment from gays is entirely another matter - they can either stand up for the word of God and take it, or be more interested in pleasing man. This addresses gender identity, gender fluidity, the trans population and homosexuality. Jesus says men are men and women are women and only acknowledges that a man should be joined with a wife. He only refers to a man and a wife because that is the only legitimate marriage/approved sexual relationship.

I call them Libertarian Christians. In my experience, if you sit down and actually talk with people like this you’ll quickly find that it’s not just a “one issue” deal. That is, if they’re lenient on same-sex marriage then they’re also fine with cohabiting before marriage (and are probably doing it) and the like. They only draw the line at “obvious” sins that they’re detached from/don’t directly affect them, like polygamy and murder.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24.
The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9.
The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.
Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

At the end it all amounts to who do you love the most, God or yourself?. If you love God above all thinks (to love Jesus is to deny yourself and trust God) you will do his will but if you love yourself above all thinks you will do the thinks that make you happy (love, all types of pleasure, leisure, ect) and make you contempt. When you set your self esteem and self centered attitude/goal higher than your love for God then you make a bridge (spiritual bridge with a locked gate) between you and God. God wants to have an intimate spiritual relation with us, he wants to be 100% a part of our lives and decisions so he could help us make the right ones in all parts of our lives. We weren't made for the purpose of self exaltation and for the purpose of seeking a happy and enjoyable live on this earth.
We were made for the purpose of sharing God's kingdom , love and friendship with God. Adam was considered God's friend, he spoke to God on a one to one basis, and to worship God in spirit and in truth we must reach that relationship through Christ. If we understand that reality we will want to reconnect with God and reestablish that intimate relationship we were meant to have from the beginning of creation but to reestablish that relationship we must accept God's terms and conditions (it was man who rebelled against God and disobeyed God not the other way around).
The starting point is accepting by faith his grace through Jesus atonement in the cross. When we do that our sinful carnal nature is buried with Christ and our spiritual nature is risen with our Lord and Savior in his resurrection. That's exactly what Saint Paul meant when he was describing different sins that people do (homosexuals, effeminate, murderers, idolaters, ect) then he goes on saying that some of them were like that but by the grace of God they were transformed..

Do I think you _should_ marry a man if you're a man, or a woman if you're a woman? Of course I don't, and I never will. But the world's law has nothing to do with whether or not people sin. It's _God's kindness_ that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4), not illegality. The world's concept of marriage already wasn't the Biblical one to begin with, and that will never change. Same-sex romance will exist regardless. I really don't think that recognizing it from a legal standpoint changes anything, honestly.

An example. The Greek word "Arsenokoite" is interpreted as a homosexual in 1 Cor. 6:9 by MacArthur, but the word is never used, anywhere, in the Greek to mean "homosexual." Because I go to other sources that mention the word in the Greek around the time of Paul and go with those interpretations, my Greek understanding of the word is correct and not MacArthur's who puts his own interpretation of the word unlike myself.

Going to outside sources is what all scholars/theologians do on both side of this debate when trying to understand certain Biblical passages and words. There aren't any need for "interpretations' with these outside sources because they're meaning is usually pretty clear-cut. The closest instance of the word 'arsenokoite' around the time of Paul is from a pagan source called the Sibylline Oracles that uses the word for an economic exploitation, We look at that and say; "O.K. that's probably what the word means." Now 'arsenokoite' is tricky because it's in a vice list with no context, BUT has word has been used by early church fathers and other texts to mean everything from pederasty to idolatry practices making it harder for us to know what interpretation Paul had in mind, but we can say the word was never used to mean a homosexual. So no sound interpreter of the word can say this means "homosexual" if the word was never used in any other instance to convey that. If they do, that's called eisegesis, putting your own interpretation in a Bible word or passage that people like MacArthur are blatantly doing with arsenokoite, inventing a modern-day interpretation of the word with having no bases anywhere other than because that's how they want the word to read.
I wrote you instances of how the Bible interprets itself and the comment was deleted by this channel author (this time I'm going to copy my comment, so if they try to pull this again, I'll just re-post it... cheeky monkeys).
People like MacArthur will tell you Sodom was destroyed because of homosexuality, but if you look in the book of Ezekiel, It tells you why Sodom was destroyed, pride and the lack of hospitality they showed other with hospitality being such a big thing in the ancient world, the tribes of Israel went to war over it. Jesus backs this interpretation in the book of Matthew with saying the towns not showing hospitality to the apostles will suffer the same fate as Sodom. So this is the Bible interpreting itself. In this case, showing why Sodom was destroyed in other parts of the Bible.
Another example.
If you look at Romans 1, it says that men turned to from God into believing a lie. MacArthur will tell you that it's the lie of homosexuality, but if you go to the books of Jeremiah and Isaiah,. idols are called "lies." So now we know it's talking about idolatry and not homosexuality. The Old Testament interpreting what's stated in the New Testament.

There is a difference between personal weaknesses and joyfully, openly defying GOD. Don’t condemn yourselves by condemning homosexuals, whom have just as much access to Grace as you. Not affording this sort of mercy can cause other vices to creep up in a state of stress. The Apostle Paul tells us both: keep the Commandments and that we’re incapable of keeping them. So, use GOD’s standards as a reference point while structuring civil laws around what people can be reasonably expected to rein-in.
GOD did tell us His standards. But He also tells us that none of us can live up to them. We have a limited ability to choose right and wrong in our fallen flesh. (By the way, none of our flesh enters the Kingdom of Heaven. We get glorified bodies, which correct our current corruptions! You didn’t take that into account.) When GOD puts it on your heart to change something, change it. But, if He doesn’t take a sinful tendency away from an individual, realize that this happens all the time and for EVERY sinful tendency. Do not hypocritically condemn one another. Preach the Gospel of Grace (not works), and leave the rest up to GOD. Don’t promote homosexuality, but give mercies on par with the many mercies you are given for lying, accusing, condemning others, and so forth.
First of, the Bible tells us that is a sin, and an abomination before the sight of God. That is very clear. 2nd, sanctification is a lifetime process, God will sanctify us and get rid of every thing/sin that defiles us. 3rd if you are truly a christian you will never tolerate what nailed Jesus Christ on the cross (sin). So yes preach the True Gospel, preach grace but preach sin as well, cause we should be informed of what is wrong before God. Remember hell is as real as heaven. It is love to tell people that eternal damnation awaits them if they continue practicing homosexuality& homosexual acts.
Zini Narciso - That’s not my particular vice. But, I have a grasp on other vices. Keep in mind that the Bible considers lying lips and a proud look to also be abominations... same word as sexual immorality. I think my place in the Body of Christ is to remind others of mercy and forgiveness. Self-righteousness (which the Bible says is as filthy rags) can be easily hidden in one’s pursuit of Christ... like a blind spot. I’m not chucking out any standards or calling evil good. Zini Narciso - OK. But, I just want to make sure that people know that none of us are righteous. When we come to faith in Christ’s sacrifice for our sins, burial, and resurrection, His righteousness is credited to us. We don’t earn righteousness any other way. That truth gets lost along the way.
Zini Narciso - I was with you for those first couple sentences. The reason homosexuality doesn’t continue in the Kingdom is that we’re given glorified bodies: a different flesh that isn’t of a sinful nature. Saying that a believer practicing homosexuality in our current flesh bans someone from the Kingdom is a backdoor way of suggesting works again. You’re only held accountable for it in this lifetime if you’re not in Christ.

Those who believe that from a functional point of view men and women are equal will have as their next stop that there is no good reason why two people of the same sex can’t marry and parent.
If the only reason we say people of the same sex can’t marry or parent is that there is a verse somewhere which says they cannot it means we have more work to do - to search for God’s heart behind gender. The verse which lays down a rule is of course not to be ignored - but if all we have is a verse that’s not enough - we must seek to understand God’s heart - and keep seeking until we can EVANGELISE in the area of sexuality as well as in any other.
Just because two things are functionally equal doesn’t necessitate that they are interchangeable. That premise is flawed logically.
Additionally, anyone who would say that “we have more work to do” as a refutation against scripture means that they are obviously not reading scripture and aligning their life to scripture. Instead, such a person is really saying that he/she would rather align the scripture to how they think/feel. There is danger of allowing false doctrine to corrupt your thinking in this path.
Also, there are many scriptures that state that homosexuality is not God’s design. In fact!...you only need to read Romans 1:21-28 to see that God
Himself warns that if we form our version of God to what we think is best instead of what he really tells us through his word, then a byproduct would be that men and women in such a society would turn to homosexuality. It’s a direct effect and judgment of a society that seeks to change the attributes of God unto something they want.
So now I ask you, is your goal to have a God that makes you feel all warm and tingly, or is it to know what the Bible really says? You gave a hint already by saying that “just because a verse says....we have more work to do.” That one sentence will condemn you in the eyes of God so please repent and turn away from this thinking. Read your bible and don’t try to change what it says because it is the word of the most high. If you cannot do this and instead wish to twist the scriptures then you are not a follower of Christ, but you are self deceived and in danger of deceiving others.

You’ve missed the point of what I said. My point was not that we should ignore verses of scripture but that in order for us not to communicate empty rules - legalism - we must seek to understand the heart of God in respect of gender/sexuality.
And so my point (responding to your first paragraph) is not that men and women are interchangeable - they are not! My point was that people who think they are go on to then change the rules to match that belief.

God did not make marriage for just a man and a woman, in the OT he said marriage was also 1 man and many wives.
Jesus gives us the 2 greatest commandments. If same sex couples can uphold these like heterosexual couples it means other scripture has been misinterpreted. It actually strongly suggests this is the case.

Don’t flame me here but I think the argument is that Paul says alot of things and they sound consistent with God’s message but he was not there to witness Jesus - perhaps the better and more accurate recounting of what Jesus/God had to say comes from the disciples. Too much of the faith is built upon what Paul said and not the orginal 11 disciples - I am sure they talked about a lot of things with Jesus - the fact homosexuality is not in those books means it is an open question. Is that incorrect?
