In keeping with the game style, it would work if Jennifer/Mark made subtle noises hinting at upcoming afflictions. Ouch for no reason for rheumatic joints, yawn when fully awake for diminished form, stomach growling or burping when full for sour stomach, sobbing or shuttering for haunted mind…
I get Hadrian's desire for a small heads-up on upcoming afflictions. The pop scare for those is right up there with unlocking a new feat. I don't know if there's a set spacing of days for the afflictions, but I have noticed the ones I've got on my Misery run so far all arrived at noon, which makes sense given that's when you spawn. I saw another commonality, but maybe I should keep that one under my hat so as to avoid spoilers.
I gave Misery a try. My character was trying to reach Signal Hill on the second day when she died of cold and exhaustion just after the first affliction to hold. I just could not keep the health up. I may try another run doing all the same things I did, but just faster, and then a longer sleep cycle. We’ll see if I get further.
As a sucker for pain i think the afflictions r bad yes but i feel like they are just very passively bad i would like to see them needing more tending to, have some kind of active part to them maybe play into the bars more
I wonder if you still can find improvised knives. They seem to have become more common in the world since the loot table update. At least in my runs. Does the setting only affect Hunting knives or free roaming knives in general?
Wait the place you want to find tools at is forlorn muskeg and not hrv I mean I get that hrv is garrentied death but so is forlorn muskeg at least the former garrentied death has garrentied tools right this logic is flawed welp whatever least you know where you’re going I guess
He has to make his hatchet and knife, he can't find them. There are only about three forges in the game. Last run, making them at Bleak Inlet didn't work out so well, and Black Rock is absolutely a death sentence. So the Muskeg gives him the best chance.
@@KaurkaKaymiril huh that’s a surprise misery is misery I heard that you get those tools in hrv guess not in this mode well I suppose one garrentied death is better then the other one
@@Necfreon You do get some tools in HRV, specifically the hacksaw and heavy hammer. Premade hatchets and knives don't exist on Loper loot tables (illegal loot bugs aside), so those have to be forged.

I was struggling to find a can opener as well, eventually I found it yesterday inside the small cabin at Miners Folly on day 8 of Misery Mode)
