Same, or trying to beat cabin fever in a truck or car so I can read during clear nights where the moon is out, things like that. I hate passing time if I don't need to.
I agree; there’s lots of opportunity to read if you consciously prioritise book learning and always seek an alternative to passing time, especially when there’s a fire burning or when you’re inside during a blizzard.
The game has thrown five (5) cooking skill books at my Misery run in the space of two in-game weeks. At this point it'd feel rude not to take the hint and read them. I'm going to get Cooking 5 and it's not going to matter in the slightest. Thanks, Sour Stomach!
I will normally read my books an hour here an hour there over a couple days. The issue that comes up doing that at your level of gameplay where you currently are gear-wise is the weight is too much to carry books around.
For right now, Misery feels more like a challenge mode than Interloper since there's a hard limit to how long you can maximally survive with the final affliction on top of the other ones. I hope that at some point in the future they make it possible for to survive against all odds, or make Misery more of a challenge mode where you can get rewards or feats from milestones depending on how many days you've survived Ruin for. That, in my opinion, would make Misery much more fun.
I hold to the idea that the Misery afflictions should be triggered by player actions or controllable conditions-forcing an extremely conservative play style. I also think they should be available in the custom settings. I’d love to play around with these without having to commit to Misery Mode.
Message for the Warden: @NynahNina Hello Warden [insert Minecraft warden reference] I've DM'd you but the messages couldn't be sent so I've done the B route :) I mainly want to lurk and watch streams (because streams are on discord if I'm understanding correctly? or maybe for notification streaming alerts) so I hope I can still access Discord. If not, no worries! Thanks
24:44 Is that a Misery special that one can no longer threaten a wolf of it's prey? In all other modes threatening with a stone alone already is sufficient to steal a deer or rabbit from a wolf…
I hope you don't mind the question. You said, the pain induced blur doesn't bother you, and obviously you don't even notice the, to me super annoying, pulsing of the sound. So why carry around all that aspirin?
That is an excellent question, and I'd never mind! It's probably old habit from when the aspirin was actually needed. You're completely right and I genuinely hadn't even thought of it. Old habits die hard.
I read all my books while waiting out blizzards, when waiting for food to cook, or trying to warm up, etc.
Yeah, passing time seems like a waste to me, but I guess you have to keep it snappy for the YT over a casual offscreen game.
Same here.

And that's a cave I didn't know about, or had forgotten about since I typically just run right through Milton Basin on my way too or from the Muskeg.
A third zero percent condition lost in a row from smashing open a can. I wonder if it’s bugged. Or are you just supremely lucky?
Maybe he should reference it aloud so we can find out.

I'm pretty sure it "diminished form" wolves don't see you as a threat and are less likely to flee from you
Misery does seem quite miserable
