  • With our dog, Toby at the groomers, I found myself with a couple of spare hours to make a video. I chose to fit a turboboost gauge because it was quick and easy. I hope it helps you. This video took around 24 hrs to upload, I apologise for that, it must be something I'm doing wrong with the new camera.

If you click purchase from the link below it will take you to the Bunnings website. I just ordered one which I may review in a future video. I just received mine and including postage it was $39 if you collected it $29 which is great value.

That's very good - setup the boost gauge first then fiddle with boost. Its obvious when you see it done, but not what I would have stupidly done :(
Are there any videos on pulling the dash out of the Jackaroo's? That would be quite useful.

It depends on what you mean by pulling the dash out, the binnacle, the centre console or all of the dash?

@@thejackaroo4WDcampingchannel I need to replace the dash light behind the odometer and I want to replace the stereo. I'd like to move the switches for the seat heaters too back to the dash - the current location on the centre console means they get switched on by objects resting there and Murphy dictates that will occur on a 40oC day.

@@MiniLuv-1984 So the light behind the odometer is a binnacle out job and that is fairly easy. Furthermore, the centre console is fairly easy too as is the console around the transmission lever. I think that this will cover most things that you mentioned. It is quite a bit of work to do in one go but, I will look at removing the binnacle next weekend. Be careful, if you are thinking of using LED bulbs because they can cause spurious problems because of their voltages. I only replaced some dimmer lamps with LED's such as the headlamp light and the 4WD light. But, if they are bright enough I would use conventional globes.

@@thejackaroo4WDcampingchannel Thanks Dave, I will have a go! No led lights..too many problems with them. In a Magna we had some time ago, I replaced the interior central lamp with a led lamp and it stayed partially on all the time. Just a big PITA. I will see if I can puzzle out the removal of the instrument cluster to get to this lamp behind the odometer/trip meter.
I image the dash and other bits of the interior is a big job for you, so please don't get swayed by my particular problems and create a lot of work for yourself!

Hi mate what size tap did you use to tap the thread in exhaust manifold to fit your SAAS pyro meter sensor , all taps i have dont match please

I can't remember exactly but what I do know is that SAAS recommended a certain tap thread in the box and we could not get a tap anywhere. So, my son had the next tap up and Autobarn had an adaptor to take it back down again.

ok thank you ime going to try to find a tap or fitting to suite to fit in in the same spot as you did yours, has it been working good in this position @@thejackaroo4WDcampingchannel

Yes, it has worked well, although I have replaced the SAAS gauge with a Dragon digital one. I think the recommended tap was a 1/8th NPT which we could not find anywhere. Rob had a 3/16th NPT tap which he'd got with his ARB Rear Locker and Autobarn in Narre Warren had an adaptor to convert from 3/16 NPT to 1/8th NPT.

@@pkgoldopalhunting I will add that the Dragon gauge did not specify the tap size.
Another note, on the heat shield there is like a gauze washer in the holes, you can remove it by pulling it from either side and the hole remaining is big enough to go over the adaptor. Use the three lower heat shield bolts to secure the heat shield.
