Great review! Just picked up with beaut yesterday & played my nephew's Scum Squadron last night. Barely beat him, but I won! Captain Oicunn plus Darth Vader's TIE plus Mauler Mithel was a good team. I just kept ramming with Oicunn and either focus fired with the 2 TIEs or wore down my enemy's shields. Kept chasing behind with the TIEs while Oicunn just bullied the enemy team out of formation. I'm still learning how to play it, but last night was a blast! Nephew tagged the crap of Oicunn but he still had 4 hull at the end! Amazing ship! Hopefully the Imperial Navy will continue to punish that Bounty Hunter scum!!!
Being new to all this, Ive probably watched all of your X-Wing reviews. Ive found the videos informative enough that if know im getting something new, ill rewatch your review on it. Keep the good show.
I just wanted to express my gratitude for your videos. They are well presented, great to watch and very to the point. By far my favourite x-wing review videos. Thanks for the effort.
Would you take this over the Lambda? I'm looking for my first large imperial ship. (Besides the Firespray) My brother has both YT-1300's, a YT-2400, the Ghost, and a U Wing. He also has a GR-75, and I need something to keep up with him. What do you suggest? A Lambda, this, or a Gozanti?
I had this ship when Star Wars Galaxies was going strong, now I play the emulator, and it was awesome. Having everyone manning the guns while I pilot and having a co-pilot and a couple engineers running around repairing damage to the ship all while flying around in combat was great. I miss those days still, even though the graphics weren't the best. It was the best MMO around until they ruined it with NGE (new game enhancements). I had the interior of my ship fully decorated with a Dejarik table, imperial throne, suits of armor, weapons, paintings and even a fish tank filled with exotic fish. You could also have multiple house across multiple world that you could also decorate and player created entire cities! Truly the ultimate sand box mmo of its day. I just bought this ship and am super excited to begin playing with it in X Wing.
Colin MacPhail I have a friend who played Galaxies and loved it. I never got into it, although I did play Old Republic for awhile. I didn't know that the Decimator was in Galaxies. That's pretty neat.
They also put the Decimator into the Star Wars Saga Edition table-top rpg (Sadly out-of-print). It's in the Rebellion Era campaign guide. It fills the same party transport role in that game too. Provided you can acquire one.
G. Whistler I'm not sure I follow you; what is it that you see as shutting down Biggs? I'm guessing it's Ruthlessness? Or Captain Oicunn? Both cards have ways of getting around Biggs and dealing damage to his teammates, but I wouldn't say that they shut down his ability completely. In the case of Ruthlessness, isn't it better to have one of Biggs' teammates take 1 damage than suffer a full attack? Biggs can still draw fire away from key squadmates.
The Dominator seems to have a number of effects, via upgrades and abilities, that seem to shut down other abilities. My concern is the power level of these effects.
G. Whistler Fair enough. Personally, I wouldn't say that anything in the game currently is broken, or even dangerously overpowered, but with every new expansion there are more and more ship/pilot/upgrade combinations added to the game so it's difficult to tell for sure. It seems like the designers have done a good job of keeping the power creep in check so far. If you want to see good examples of REALLY broken stuff, take a look at X-Wing's sister game, Star Trek Attack Wing. There are definitely some badly broken combos in that game! I don't think anyone familiar with it could argue otherwise.
Boston Menace A hard type of resin, haven't had one broken ship yet, well not by accident. Even had a large ship fall on tiles and not break or chip. I just suffered a minor heart attack...lol.

+Yuri Ivashchenko - Thank you! I'm glad the videos are useful!

Dan Burrell Thank you. I'm glad that you enjoy the videos!
Totally going to pair this with my phantom, having a tank on the battlefield AND something that would now have 5 attack and 5 defense dice, not bad.
Great vid. The pacing and camera work really allowed me to take in the ship, pilots and upgrades and how they worked well together.
Kevin Kostic Thank you!
Before I even saw that hull value, I was like holy sh*t!! That thing is menacing!!!
I bought this ship a week ago, so fun to play!!!!

Hey bro, your vids rule! thanks for your effort!
+thor odinson - Thanks! Glad you like them!

Thanks!
This is a monster of a ship.
JEEZ!!!!!!!!!
Man I can't wait to get my hands on this ship. I am wondering if I should order 2 :)
Rotten Reason If you're planning to play a lot of epic level games I think a pair of Decimators could give the Tantive IV some trouble.
:) I ordered a 2nd ship last week.
The VT-49 Decimator is the imperial version of the Millennium Falcon
Pretty much, but without the maneuverability.
It was designed to challenge the Falcon. That’s why it’s the same size.
now, as of wave 10, there are 4 large imperial ships
this plus 3 phantoms is unbeatable
I meant in a 500 point game :P
Nono in a 100 point game its 1 echo and 2 onyx pilots (1 phantom and 2 tie defenders)
This ship is awesome I have one
what does the circle mean in the base????
It means that the ship can make primary weapon attacks against enemy ships outside of its firing arc (in essence it has a 360-degree field of fire.
The Cardboard Dungeon at all 1 2 3 ranges?
The Cardboard Dungeon thanks for the answer man!
I love this because my friend has the yt-2400 and the falcon and it can 360° fire -- I love the imperial side more
Glory to the Empire!
You are an awesome!
Joe Boss Thanks! You are an awesome as well!
Could ruthlessness cause damage to your own ships?
+Cybermat47 Absolutely. It's not called Ruthlessness for nothing.
Some of the stuff in this seems broken to me. Shutting down completely some ships (Biggs) is overpowered.

What material are the ships made of? They look like they're cardboard
Boston Menace They're made of hard plastic.

Pierre Bosch Its a shame for the price they didn't make them out of metal.
Silver Bull Channel They'd be a LOT more expensive if they were made out of metal.
But you know they would rock
