This guy is my fave! He's always on the cusp, probably will never podium, but damn - he's got more grit than the rest of the guys combined in my opinion.
@jimah ; YOUR WRONG IN YOUR COMMENT = BECAUSE; EVEN BEFORE THIS INTERVIEW HAD EVER TAKEN PLACE, JOSH HAD ALREADY SAT ON THE PODIUM, I MEAN JESUS, IT EVEN LITERALY STATES THAT VERY FACT ABOVE, BUT, HOWEVER, YOU ARE CORRECT, SPEAKING ABOUT HIS GRIT. HE IS ABSOLUTELY A SOLID COMPETITOR AND ABSOLUTE BAD ASS MF,er, kickin ass, taken names, ex navyseal warrior, I CAN DEFINITELY SEE WHY HE IS YOUR FAV. COMPETITOR, MINE AS WELL, HIS OVERALL PERSONALITY , AS WELL AS HIS LIKES, VALUES, MORALS , ETC... DOING WHAT VERY FEW MEN EVER GET TO CLAIM ACHIEVING= THE FAMED TRIDENT. WHAT A STUD. BRAVO NOTHING BUT RESPECT. THESE SPECIAL OPERATIONS CATS, WHETHER ITS SEAL'S, RANGER'S, GREEN BERET'S, OR,THE TOP-TIER= DELTA'S. THEY JUST SEEM LIKE THE MOST ABSOLUTELY COOLEST BUNCH OF CATS TO WALK THIS EARTH. MY RANT/2CENTS
Was a good showing. Sad he didn't podium. His Murph performace was proof enough that he is one of the fittest on Earth. I think that event was the most telling of cardio and mental fitness, and he destroyed it.
Its called the load trainer on Rogue fitness and its basically an ALICE pack frame (Military Backpack frame) with a pole to add bumper plates and weight so you can simulate rucking with an accurate amount of weight, this is often done as a form of physical exercise in the military
Good. When you feel pain, when you feel like breaking, when you feel like quitting, tell yourself.. GOOD. That's where you become better, stronger, ready. Realizing you are in that state and telling yourself Good, don't back off, keep going and use that as fuel.
You call it marketing, I call it success. The more success and goals that get accomplished in my life, the more I want to keep pushing. That's not marketing, that's called attitude. Marketing would imply external motivation, whereas attitude is controlled by you... Therefore, your little theory there, IS BOGUS ha ha ha
*ME:* "Honey, where are my ankle weights? I'm going to go for a little run." *JOSH:* "Honey, where is my 45 lbs plate? I'm going to go do a marathon. "
manlet: The little fella you see at the gym who tries to draw attention away from his short stature by packing on excessive muscle mass (this generally has an effect opposite of that which was intended). Often waddles around like a muscly lil' meatball (Urban Dictionary). 😂😂😂 but um, he's been my new inspiration! Should I find some one else I can look up to in crossfit? Watching him work was really inspiring and motivating then I found out he was a seal, and I was hooked. I've watched his 16.4 performance, and I hate to admit that those are not full reps, but any other reasons not to look up to him? Other than being a cheater, which is a huge one.
If your competing for the games its literally a mental mind fuck. There is a fine balance between how much volume and how intense you have to workout as well as the frequency you do so. I believe Josh or Dan Bailey could have won the games but they both train to hard. Fraser has the right balance and approach to training which is why he won this year.
Dan Bailey didn't make it out of regionals this year. Josh Bridges is an incredible athlete but due to his size he has a very big limitation as well as the fact he was the oldest competitor at the games this year.
At least the dog is not in a crate, kennel or the house and is hanging out with him while he is training!! Thirty years of decoy work for Sport, Police service and Military work and I think the Dutchie is under utilized (the lack of popularity might be it's salvation as a breed)
He says he trains 5-6x a time and randomly takes a day off here or there. Completely possible at his level. He said 5-6x a day but didn't say how much or what he was doing. Is he doing 2-3 exercises per workout? 1 exercise? Or 8-10? We should get more details before making blanket statements.
Without seeing what he's actually doing at the bottom of the lift its hard to tell, but he's either doing Romanian deadlifts or he's just doing normal ones but utilising the bounce to start his next lift. His hands are just in the over under position
No,Bruce Lee will say Crossfit=Stupid. Remember Bruce Lee MASTERED different kinds of martial arts before he combined them together, he had those skills and he knew what he was doing. But crossfit? look at all those shitty sloppy forms they'll get killed by themselves before anyone else does.
koawang0609 you're so fuckin' wrong 😁 Bruce died at 33 years old. You think he actually *mastered* all martial arts in such a short period of time?! 😂 And I double dare you to say, with a straight face, that Mat Fraser, Rich Froning, Kat Davidsdottir, Tia-Toomey etc, have bad form. Come on! Say it! 😀 You know jack shit.
+Dee Xiao Long different kinds=all kinds? Are you blind or what? And I say crossfit is stupid cuz the majority of "crossfitters" are doing these clean and jerk or snatch in sloppy form, how am I wrong? Power lifters and weight lifters are working to perfect their technique while most crossfitters are working their ass off to do it faster, how is it not stupid?
koawang0609 because they do what they do for different reasons. Power lifters and weight lifters are looking to specialize, as you well know, while regular CFers are looking to move and have fun doing it. The whole point of CF, as you know, is to develop athletes that are able to *adapt*. They will never be able to beat a specialist at their discipline, *but* there is no specialist that will be able to adapt to any physical demand like a top CF athlete does. Different aims. As far as your criticism on form and pace goes I think you're misinformed. Look up Kelly Starrett for example, who is closely tied to CF and you will see that CF aims to give people the right cues and methods to perform efficiently. There is a trend going on, whose purpose is to denigrate CF for what it does, but most of the points it tries to get across are moot. Someone new who tries CF will *not* be given a barbell. That person will be given a pvc pipe to practice lifts, until they are deemed efficient enough to graduate to the barbell. And to your Bruce Lee point. I have been studying him for years and the only martial art he actually might have mastered is Wing Chun and even that is debatable. The other arts he practiced and studied he never got even close to mastering. He was excellent at picking movements up, yes, and showcasing them, yes, but master any of it? Get real. His true aim was to learn the basic efficient movements of all arts and funnel them into his own method; jeet kune do. He would have approved of the CrossFit philosophy. No doubt. Bruce was a pioneer of the "generalist" philosophy. He was trying to get people out of their comfort zone and get them to incorporate different elements to their physical practice.
For anyone questioning how 6 workouts a day is possible, just remember that these workouts are fairly short. And for a lot of these guys it is their main priority. At that level, 6 workouts is not hard to accomplish.
Alot of crossfitters that compete do this. One session for him as he said is "A crossfit or endurance, followed by oly lifting, and a solely aerobic part" Its actually a good approach if you ask me.
Carl Evans Remove other things that are less important to you and you'll have room to train. Obviously not at this level since this is his job but CF can be a great hobby and way to improve your health.
6 workouts a day? Running with a 55lbs plate on the back? That guy is crazy! But I love his determination and intensity. A pity that he will never win the Games due to his lack of absolute strength.
You're right about the time part but it's a lot more than you think. Due to the nature of Crossfit, just looking at the time domain is a little deceiving. Its like looking at a power lifter's training and saying that they're only actually holding the bar lifting for a few min so it must not be that much.
If this guy was a SEAL and all he likes to do is work out, then why isn't he still in SEALs? Why not stay in and get paid for 20 and take leave just for the crossfit games?
This guy is my fave! He's always on the cusp, probably will never podium, but damn - he's got more grit than the rest of the guys combined in my opinion.

I do the same thing with injuries... when it hurts... keep pushing... when it sprains tears or breaks.... keep pushing....
marketing has everyone on this BS motivation --

*ME:* "Honey, where are my ankle weights? I'm going to go for a little run."

True!

my favorite crossfit athlete. but @4:30 what kinda monster doesnt pet there dog.
At least the dog is not in a crate, kennel or the house and is hanging out with him while he is training!! Thirty years of decoy work for Sport, Police service and Military work and I think the Dutchie is under utilized (the lack of popularity might be it's salvation as a breed)

Does anybody know the name of the soundtrack please?
yo my homie jmkm is the producer check it bro soundcloud.com/productiveculture/jmkm-communicate
thx a lot man !
C O O L ! ! !
Why is the name "jack" on his shoe at 0:09 ?
Kids names. Jack and Knox.
this guy + Elliot hulse =super 5 fusion lmao
i take off every sunday but i only do two workouts per day
How short is this guy?
He claims 5'5" but I'm betting he's really 5-4" or less. Manlets always try to get that extra inch or 2 thinking we won't notice.
Hooyaaaah NAVY
wow this guy is a stud but this channel has the longest name ever.
Is it some type of deadlift at 1:50 ?
Without seeing what he's actually doing at the bottom of the lift its hard to tell, but he's either doing Romanian deadlifts or he's just doing normal ones but utilising the bounce to start his next lift. His hands are just in the over under position
And for what it's different hand position? Is it just harder or different muscle groups are involved?
the over under grip is used on heavier weights as it aids grip by reducing the bars ability to spin in your hands
mafib1 grip strength
I want that back strap he puts the plate on.
#Good
someone tell me what shoes he got on
Those are Nike Metcon 1's.
Bruce Lee would be so freaking proud of everyone right now in the Crossfit world....No f*cking limits.
So true.
No,Bruce Lee will say Crossfit=Stupid. Remember Bruce Lee MASTERED different kinds of martial arts before he combined them together, he had those skills and he knew what he was doing. But crossfit? look at all those shitty sloppy forms they'll get killed by themselves before anyone else does.

save Captain America! he's on the roof!
I live my life thinking " what would Josh Bridges do ! " :)
Start at 5:04
Man I really envy his lifestyle.
TWO IN A ROW
looking good. you have a back made of steel
Sevan was talking trash about shorter guys like Josh being dinosaurs in crossfit... ain't gonna happen :)
five... to six workouts... A DAY???
Alot of crossfitters that compete do this. One session for him as he said is "A crossfit or endurance, followed by oly lifting, and a solely aerobic part"

5-6 workouts a day?!?! 8-10 days before backing off... FUCK THAT!
drugs. im not hating but come on
+Nick Blevins maybe. or just really hard work and dedication.
It's more like one or two Crossfit workout plus a bunch of component which will be hard but less demanding like a Crossfit wod
Everything in life involves money, i wish i had the time to try this
time is money
make the time
Carl Evans Remove other things that are less important to you and you'll have room to train. Obviously not at this level since this is his job but CF can be a great hobby and way to improve your health.
After watching this, there's no damn wonder why he Crushed the '16 murph.

tough

6 workouts that are probably only about 10-15 minutes each. Really isnt that much

Its like looking at a power lifter's training and saying that they're only actually holding the bar lifting for a few min so it must not be that much.
he looks like a younger jeff bridges lol and they coincidentally have the same last name.. all he needs is that accent
try doing that shit in hot Texas summer
5-6 workouts a day omg.....how can people train so hard and not get injured !!!
Roids.
Excellent recovery, a lifetime of building an insane work-capacity, auto regulation, and probably gear.
If this guy was a SEAL and all he likes to do is work out, then why isn't he still in SEALs? Why not stay in and get paid for 20 and take leave just for the crossfit games?
He retired awhile back to be home for his kids. Also his sponsorships pay WAY more than he'd continue to make as a seal
I think he got injured on a deployment. Not sure though.
6 workouts a day damn 😓
🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨
dog doesn't get a sweat lick in front of camera ;)
Straight up monster bro!
