Do you also run the scope at classes and run and gun? If so does it pick up pretty quick? I was wondering how well a scope like that would work for close in and in its configuration you can't use 45 degree sights. I'm thinking of getting a del-ton with my portion of the tax return. Thanks.
Yes I do run a magnified scope on all my carbines now. I currently run the leupold VXR Freedom on my primary Run n Gun carbine. The scope that was used in this video I did run with some and have done a ton of classes with that exact setup. With that said most of the courses I shoot have a max distance shot in them of about 200yrds so I've kind of gravitated toward a lower magnified optic. The 1.5-4x is about perfect for what I do. Check out the review video on that optic if interested. I have no trouble running that size optic inside of 10yrds and them making hit out to 250yrds, its a very versatile setup that doesn't add a ton of weight. I'm not a fan of 45 offset stuff. It adds bulk and just offers something else for stuff to catch on, nothing wrong with it just not for me. I will probably do an updated vid on my Rifle setup for Run n gun/ Carbine Class for 2019 if the interest is there. Don't forget to look us up on Facebook! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
The Hide thanks for the in detail reply. I'm not a fan of extra bulk and 45 degree offsets either but was curious how a 3-9 would work for closer ranges within 10-15. Thanks again so much and I'll definitely be subscribing and looking for your other videos and find you on FB
I think a 3-9 or even a 2-7x power scopes are probably some of the most versatile. You can dial them in low for closer range stuff and still range out with even a 7 power. To answer your question a 3-9 will do just fine, but just practice with it. If you've been shooting a RDS and now thinking of moving to a magnified optics, just know there is a bit of a learning curve. Nothing hard just something that gonna require some training. Thanks for the sub, I appreciate the support!
afternoon mate . nice looking rifle. the only one's we can have in England is the .22 one's . they are fun too shoot hopefully I'll get one next year? ? ha ha . thanks for sharing ATB
For self defense I won’t be shooting longer than 15-20 feet. I don’t think I need to worry about accuracy at that range. I don’t hunt this is strictly self protection
I picked up the new Ruger MPR for $559 from sportsman's outdoor superstore. It has a really nice 4.5 lb trigger, button riflled 1 in 8 twist barrel that's nitride coated, rifle length gas system, free floated key mod handguard. I've never seen a deal like this one. I've put about 600 rounds of nothing but wolf ammo through it so far with no malfunctions. It's shooting that 55 gr wolf ammo at about 1.5 to 2 MOA.
Amos Walker That's very nice results out of that ammo. Over all with the wolf I was seeing about 2- 2.5" groups with it in this rifle. Honestly I'm pretty happy with that considering the price point.. Sounds like you got a nice rig glad to hear it. Thanks for watching!!
Better accuracy and better durability is why I got the heavy barrel and a mid length on my second rifle. :-) My second build is still a work in progress. My trigger on my 20 inch rifle is just fine. Scales show around six pounds but it feels more like four. I was surprised since I was expecting a super heavy mil spec trigger.
Yea they tend to always be works in progress, The one primary carbine I finally settled on had been a work in the making for about 6 years. its changed as testing has went on over the years. I never say their finished anymore, lol. Thanks for watching and feel free to subscribe!
Yeah I went with the mid length rather than the carbine length for less wear and tear and less recoil on the 16 inch rifle. The heavy barrel improves accuracy as it takes longer for the barrel to heat up than the lighter barrels.
To shoot that many loads you need to get really used to the gun and know how and where it shoots with each load and what case your using that’s why the accuracy for shit
Ergonomics and shootability is no differwnt than any other AR with a mil-spec trigger. A gun is either gonna perform or it won't.. This one with its intended use performed just fine. Thanks for watching.
James Eastridge Well it really has to be taken into context as far as accuracy with this rifle. This type of rifle isn't made to be a sub moa shooter and for the price point its to be expected. I will say however this ricle has plenty of "practical" accuracy. I had no trouble making hits in run n gun or other course shooting not to mention making hits out to 200yrds +. That's not to say I wouldn't have like a little more accuracy, but for the price point I'm not as bothered by how it shot. Stay tuned for the final part as we wrap this one up and give a bit more insight into this one. Thanks for watching an for the kind words...
James Eastridge My Del-Ton M4 with 1/9 shoots way better than this example. Bear in mind that mine is a HBar. That is heavy barrel. Not that little thin thing he is shooting in this video. Mine is also a mid length so the recoil is not nearly as severe. I would say I can get 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 with it most of the time. That is typical accuracy for a mil spec AR. I also shoot 5.56 for accuracy and defense loads, and use .223 just for practice, hunting, and fun. So also consider that in this video he is using .223, not 5.56 that is a higher pressure cartridge.
What kind of tripod is that?
Thats the Caldwell Rock Jr. Thanks for watching

can aftermarket triggers be installed?
Yes any aftermarket trigger for the AR15 will drop right in. Thanks for watching!
Note to self, start out with a clean target when making a video on accuracy...
mkozzokm The target was clean, thanks for watching.

ATB
Come on down to the US and get a real black rifle!
Oh yea their a ton of fun to shoot in 22 also. Hope you can get you one also!
If the scope cost more then the gun, you may rethink your priorities haha

I think it will serve you well, Thanks for watching!
15-20 ft is what my handgun is for or even a shotgun. But if the AR is all you have than yeah.
Just get a Glock for self defense bro lol this is for long range action
This is actually the most reliable ar ive ever owned. Only had like 3 malfunctions in the break in period. But now runs like a dream.

Mid-length is the way to go if possible, all my person guns are midys.

geezus it has been 5 minutes and still talking no shooting....this is worse than Iraq veteran
Thanks for watching.
Accuracy...think not
Just depends on the accuracy your needing. Thanks for watching.
Delton. Don't look very accurate,, I know your a accurate shooter

James Eastridge, I've seen mini 14's shoot better. This is poor accuracy, even for a budget AR. 😞
