      You sir, are AMAZING!!!
      And yo' momma rocks!
Great job, you know what you need to do to get where your want in life, you know how to work hard to do things right and you know how to make a girl happy.
That is what it takes to be a happy man.
I'm not a man, but I know how to make one happy, or miserable... The man may wear the pants in the household, but we all know who he wants to get in them.... hey, just being honest.
You are definitely old enough to hear that.
Anyway, I'm really proud of ya, way to go 👍
Side note (my ex-boyfriend wasn't bright enough to do what you have done)

BEST DIY GUY EVER! But seriously this guy’s tips are priceless! I just finished a deck using at least 4 new tips I didn’t know before and this job looked so much better and the home owner, who has 7 rental units (so they’ve worked with a lot of contractors), was elated with the strength and finish of her new deck! This make me very happy and gets me a lot of referrals! Believe me, no matter how much you think you know, this guy will teach you something!

I appreciate the videos. Built my deck a few months ago. I used camo screws from watching your videos and love it. I live in Southern California and am cheap so I used 2x6x12 Doug fir for the decking with pressure treated 2x8’s for the framing. It’s all solid as a rock. I primed and painted the decking with exterior products so hopefully it will last along time. Thanks again.

i recently started a job at Lowes selling lumber and drywall and roofing and stuff like that. these videos have actually been invaluable to me to figure out what all of the options are and what the difference is. i never worked in construction, so i don't have the first hand experience of working with these materials. the thoroughness of these videos has taught me things that i have actually been able to use when talking to customers. the segment about wood grains was amazing. the section about trex decking is also great because we sell that, but i was a little confused about how it was installed. now i know that and a lot more!

I wish this video would have come out before I redid my deck. Lots of helpful tips. We had to replace the guts of the deck as all the joists and support beams were rotted. We reused the Trex decking boards on a 15 yr old deck. The previous homeowners had done what you said not to do, they butted the deck board up to the fascia board, which led to the rot of the end joists. I trimmed the deck down a bit to create the overhang. A deck guy I know said I over engineered the whole new deck. Here's hoping it lasts longer than 15 years. :)

As a project recommendation, would you consider showing how to install metal interlocking weather stripping on exterior doors? This is the kind of hook and groove type metal interlocking weatherstripping usually made of strips of aluminum into routed out edges of the door that creates a lifelong seal around the door. This seems to be a lost art but saw it done once and it's the best seal I've ever seen. Can't seem to find an installation video anywhere on the web. Thanks and love your channel. Keep it up.

Great job showing the clips and how you need to use them to suit your build type.
The reason there is two different kinds of clips, is you use one type each (solid and slip) for each horizontal member, when doing two horizontal rails. If you've ever installed a closet rod it's a similar thing, solid circle for one end of the rod and a circle where the top is cut out. For those horizontal 2x4 rails in that kit you would use one solid clip with one slip clip for each horizontal 2x4 rail. The directions I read had you attach the rail clips before installing the railing. Which if you install them that way you will need the slip side to rack your spindles followed by the top rail. I like to install the whole thing as a monolithic unit. ;) Great tips and tricks.

  • @designmasters1073

When drilling holes for rail, a little tip for holes: place a small drop of clear weather cocking in hole then place spindle in hole. The cocking helps hold from falling out should the hole be too deep,( if you didn't use painters tape), and it helps seal hole from water. Just helps sometimes. Great video as always brother!

Hi Jeff, you are a great presentor. Your explanations of the whole process are great. It's like watching a tv show. I think it's too. Long for a single video, I think that if you cut it to "episodes" it will be easier for the viewers and people will be able to watch certain episodes that are more oriented to what they need. You'll also get more views per video and to your channel. Your channel is great and the editing is fun and gets you to keep watching. I'm from israel, worked for three months in deck installations and still learned a couple of stuff. If you're interested I'd like to create Hebrew subtitles for the video. I love your videos very good information. My only problem is that I can't stop watching once I start I will view one after another all day or all night. I watched the video on enclosing a screen in porch today and also on building a deck. I laughed for ever over the storm door handle keep up the great work and never loose your personality it's great.

I’ve been watching you for a long time and still enjoy your channel because of the common sense way to tackle work on your property or a clients house. Great work brother and your son is a great part of this channel and enjoying you both working together, cheers sir.

You truly are a very gifted individual. I have just recently discovered your video and am now addicted. Your talent is unmeasurable, and priceless. your sense of humor while explaining things is perfect. Iv watched hrs. and hrs. of videos of this nature and have NEVER EVER felt the need to donate any money until now. I will absolutely find a way to do just that. Thank you so much for your sharing the wealth of knowledge you do to those of us that care to watch. God has surely blessed you with incredible talent. My only regret is that I didn't see this video 24 hrs. sooner. We just built 3 decks for my niece over the weekend. I could have used these tips without a doubt. However.....I know them now....lol and will probably re watch this one many more times. it would be impossible to remember everything you shared today In just one viewing. Mark Hoffman.... First, I LOVE your videos! I've become a binge watcher. That being said- we were in a position where we have to "restore" our deck. After taking all the decking off, we unfortunately discovered the *entire* thing had to be scrapped as every bit of it was rotted. Super unsafe, so glad we got started on the project. That being said- I am going to have to shell out TONS of $$ for the structural lumbar (at todays insane prices). I was able to get a big load of *used* Trex from a neighbor for the decking & it is in decent shape. It was a HUGE score. That being said... It was originally installed with surface screws. I don't see any other way to install it BUT to use those holes & surface screws. In this case- what do you recommend (specifically) for hardware/screws? I plan to line the wood stringers with Trex Tape. Is there an adhesive I should shoot into the hole in the Trex before the screw? I plan to apply Rustoleum Composit Deck Refresh as the final step. I would love ANY suggestion you may have with regards to making my not stellar options the best they can be!

Do folks catch their toe of their shoes as they step from the top step to the deck?
I learned many great tips from your video and you make it entertaining! Thank you! 😊

Great videos Buddy.. Next year we ( the misses and I) will be replacing the front deck .. that is if we either win the lottery or lumber prices come back down.. lol😁.. All our remodel projects came to a screeching halt this year , but we are hopeful on getting things going again ..
