    Welcome everybody! Today we are doing the first operation session of my new layout. It's nowhere near completion but it needs to be tested before I begin any irrevesible work.

    “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
    But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
    Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
    don’t be happy when they stumble.
    For the Lord will be displeased with you
    and will turn his anger away from them.
    Don’t fret because of evildoers;
    don’t envy the wicked.”

    I just figured out my lay out of track then went to hobby shop and found Piers to do raised track to be upper level that I wasn't sure how to do now I can. I am doing lake and train station to drop people off so they can go fishing. May put farm into it.
    I am not into the industry side of the trains but I like to watch others do it.
    Yours is looking great can't wait to see the scenery you put on and the industry's you add.
    GOD BLESS Jimmy 🚂💖🚂💖

    Good session Jimmy. You definitely were able to show that meaningful operations are possible on a very compact layout. Take care and keep up the good work. Art...

    Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. I’m new to railroading and considering creating my first switching yard and this was very helpful.

    Great one! It has inspired me to get my ideas together for my now dormant Railroad that has been quiet since spring hit! Rethinking Some or all of my track plan!

    I'm just getting ready to build my first little setup, and guides and channels like yours have sure inspired me to get into this hobby. OPs seem like a great way to get more invested in it! Thank you, keep up the great work!

    Nice work on putting the session together! One thing you can add to increase complexity and interest is to have hold cars that don't get picked up. You have to move them out of the way in order to do your work behind them and that can very interesting at times.

    hey brother, if you wanted... you could paint a tie yellow for your clearances. It's very prototypical and you'll know where to cut your cars. I seen't it practiced on that KCS. Cheers my dude.

    Your layout is really coming out wonderful. I like the tip on marking where you put the cars in the sidings so you can setup where your industry will go. Do you plan to make some of your turnout automatic / electrified. I can't believe the long trains you can pull on the mains. This layout is really coming along super. Can't wait to see scenery and the other details.

    Hi Jimmy, A gratifying video, thank you for sharing your experiences .. I liked this operations video, it was something different from the rest of your videos.
    Here is a request for your video roadmap, it would be possible to include the topic of signs, distribution or the best way to distribute signs.
    Thank's

    Jimmy, try not to hit the cars so hard. It’s not nice to bust a knuckle.

    Very cool! If I may suggest 1 idea to improve spur function? Carve out a very slight slope away from the turnout. Very slight as in 1/16th of an inch. That should be enough that uncoupled cars roll toward the bumper & not toward the ladder or mainline.
    I’m normally an HO guy but lumber prices made me pull out some N I had stored away. I just did my first ops session this past Saturday and decided a slight slope will greatly help. Though I use the kato magnet uncouplers. N is too tiny for me to manually uncouple.

      @SaiaArt 3 роки тому

      Nevermind, I noticed after commenting that your mainline is raised. The storage yard may still benefit from a slight slope. Just an idea though.
