“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT - Навчання та стиль
I add paint to every batch of sculptamold that I mix. I buy small sample size containers of paint when I need them. I use an old tablespoon to spoon in some paint. I don't use exact amount but do it by eye. Has benefit that if Scenery is damaged, still has soil color.
Looks great Jimmy! I love how both of our techniques are complete opposites of each other but our results turn out very similar. For example, your using fudge for your basecoat while I am using PPG Pony Tail and your using plaster cloth and sculptamold on glued cardboard whereas I am using scrap wood cuts with aluminum window screen with plaster of paris on top. That's what makes this hobby so versatile. Keep up the great work! - Jason
Great video on how you did the sculptiy mold and paint. I know I always get paint on me know matter how careful I am I think it's my magnet personality. 😂😂
Looks like I should buy large amount of painters tape for the track and myself. Keep up the good work.
I am enjoying the updates on the layout.
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
It's looking good Jimmie. Nice work.
Looking good! I can’t wait to be able to paint my base. Thanks for the update.
Great upload today enjoyed it very much.
It is really interesting how much painter's tape we use in modeling.
Great progress! Thanks for the sculpamold info because I need some!
layout looking good keep up the good vid on the lay out stay safe jimmy thank four the good vid on the layout lee
The shots of pouring the paint look like a Hershey’s commercial! So satisfying!!
The layout is looking really good, Jimmy - Looking forward to seeing the progression.
Coffee: 'Italian Dark Roast' Signature Brand 'K-cup' from Star Market. I'm about to start the senic proccess as well and will be re-watching and will be taking notes.
Fantastic work:)
Interesting. I look forward to seeing future developments. I was surprised at the almost rough and ready state of the layout. I would have expected a lot more of a finished product before painting. This is going to be interesting to watch developments. Thanks for continuing to keep us entertained.
Another informative video.
Almost every MR video I watch shows track getting painted. Wonder if the manufacturers notice this and maybe should take note and produce track that is properly "tinted" to save that step? Also wondered what you then cleaned railheads with after paint?
Yay, once again ONR boxcar, love the golden chevrons, that my main road.
Go Ryobi too. Seems to be a tool supplier of choice these days.
Hey Jimmy, thanks for the update. One thing that I’m wondering is, why dark chocolate? Is that the color of the soil in Pennsylvania? I have been trying a 3-1 ratio of skin tone/ dark brown. I think it best represents the local soil in central California. One more thing about my “small” hillsides is that I use foam board and a sanding sponge for the shape and I finish them off with a light passing with a cigarette lighter to bring out the terrain…
Painted track is a cool detail that makes a huge difference to the look. Question: If you used conductive paint, could you get away with not clean the rails? Has anyone tried this?!
Well Jimmy you might think it looks yummy but it doesn't for me. I don't like chocolate 😐 😕 but it sure is making things look good for the train. Keep having fun, Chris
👍Great video with lots of new ideas for me. Was that a flat paint or semi gloss ? I am having trouble with some of my base coat pealing and I am using flat latex.
Thanks Jimmy, a couple of questions. First, WHICH Ryobi glue gun are you using, there seems to be 3 different ones. Also, I've heard that the single heat one is too hot so do you have the dual heat one?
Second question, with the Kato track, do you solder the pieces together and just use the unijoiners and glue the track down?
Just wondering what you used to clean the track. I have seen video where people state using a bright boy will scratch your track and cause problems later on down the line.?
I would think just some paint thinner or mineral spirits on a rag would take care of it. Maybe not?
🤔🤔🤔🤔
Layout scenery made of chocolate 🍫 ❓
What’s not to like. Might need to use air conditioning though. 😉😂😂
I think the layout should be re-named with a willie wonka theme
