I'm interesting.. Did you watch all the review, burying your tension towards the end, Or the first thing you did is going directly to the "Final Thoughts" part ?
@@ryanbrown9102 This was a year and a half ago, so I honestly don't remember. Usually I watch the front, skim through the how to play and then watch from components forward. I can't say that is what I did here, but that's usually what I do with a DT review.
@@GamingwithEdo This isn't just another review - It's a review of about YOUR game. From the other hand, now I see that you have so many... Anyway, well done for all the creativity and all of your creations, and good luck with the upcoming Maul Peak... I hope it will be awesome... You are invited to blow our minds.
@@ryanbrown9102 Thanks for the kind words!! I mean, I'd have the right answer last October. Or perhaps its just because I'm in the final 16hours of a different KS. Maul peak is coming along. Can't wait to share it!
Many cite the "static" feeling Foxen. They are your Control Group. If they had too many options, they game would overwhelm as Tom noted about similar designs. What is in the box is perfect. Better to expand a rock solid design then flood with too much too soon
@@mrbastos I'm in the same boat. My hesitation was with my inability to get two-player games to the table with any regularity. I love the Roll Player design, though.
Played this a little while back doing a preview. Has to be one of the best games I've played this year. Absolutely amazing game, absolutely agree with your assessment! Reminded me of Shadow of the Colossus.
I love the production and I was enamored with it from the Kickstarter. It wasn't clear that it wasn't just overproduced. The game play seemed like it could be pretty simplistic and maybe that $50 might go better towards something else. As it is, my two player game queue is overflowing and I'm still not convinced this is a must have design as far as game play is concerned. Does the game play fit in the same space as Haven? They me be markedly different in their mechanics, but maybe that is a cheaper and just as pretty alternative. "Why not both," you ask? Why not indeed. They're still fun to display.
I have a question. After seeing this review, I'm realy interested in buying this but the gameplay sounds a bit like that of Unmatched? Is this the case or are they different enough to get both?
i had the same plan, but if you understand the rules, you can easily teach it to non english speakers and they will just follow it by the symbols, its not really language dependent
Is Fury of Dracula a Wargame at 2p? Is Specter Ops? Sqaud-tactics =/= Auto War Game. Sorry, categorizing things sometimes on DT has set me off. Difference in "What is a War Game?" and "Conflict/War Themed. **Still keep calling Deck Construction games (Magic the Gathering) Deckbuilders...
Awesome game. I think it would literally be 10x as popular if it had different art on the cover and a different name. The art is gorgeous but the cover art is stylistic but really lacking the beauty of all the rest of the art in the game. Or even the art on the side or the box for that matter. And the name really hurts this game in my opinion. It’s weird to say and doesn’t explain anything about the game. So between the two, this game just doesn’t have the shelf presence it deserves. I wish those seemingly minor two things were different because the game would get so much more attention on a store shelf or when saying the name to a friend.
Incredible! Thrilled you enjoyed it so much, Tom!!
Will def be sharing the review with some friends.

ohhhh, looks like a Shadow of the Colossus thw 2-player board game
Cassandra Castro :)
Lol exactly my thought too!
Thank you Tom for hitting next to the pieces this time...
Looks fun and simple. I'd love me one of this.

fearanarchy thanks for the comment!
I love the name and the box.
Wilpuri Films Thanks!
Link for the playthrough you mentioned?
I was going to back this on KS, but ended up holding back because I had a bunch already backed. I am upset with past me's decision.
I fixed past me's mistake, and purchased the game from their site lol

they are building a bear version. "Maul peak". try to get in.

Gaming with Edo anytime brother, great game, great company, great frontman. Thanks.
The Dice Odyssey thanks!
Fantastic art and graphic design.
Thanks!
YES! My copy is coming in on Friday. Glad to see it get the Seal of Excellence
Nathan Wennerlind hope you enjoy!
Looks fantastic. I'm glad they didn't add multiplayer modes (like one vs many) and hide the game from two player game fans like me.
Felix Fryxell there certainly were plenty of requests for that 😉, but it was always intended as 2-player
Got this in a few month ago and haven't found a friend to play with yet
Where are you based?
@@GamingwithEdo NC at the moment. Part of the fun had been all the other KS games that have came in. I'm sure well get it to the table soon.
@@tttopolis Cool!
Where can I purchase this game? I am living in Toronto, Canada. Can't seem to find a seller...

Perhaps you'll find a copy at a game store or con to check out and see how you like it.
It seems like the guardians have so few actions? Just seems like a turn would end so quickly
Guardians have to slam dunk. foxen need to spread out. But the initial balance is quite on point.
Darn it! I tried to get a chance to play this at SHUX, but it was always out!!
Dan Sioui hope you get your chance!

I own all current sets of unmatched and I don't see the comparison here. Did you buy it?
Where is the video of Tom and Roy playing this? Can't find it. No link here. Even did a Google search. No where to be found.
Hmm, maybe we never posted that video!
Sorry!
@@thedicetower No worries Tom. Sorry I didn't check here before asking in you Q&A today. 🤜🤛
For the second time I've played a game before Tom's review. So it's two to gazillion.. catching up..;)
mienzillaz nice!
@@GamingwithEdo positive review from mr. Vasel will boost the sales for sure. Very good game which deserve recognition.
Thanks!
my boss says you need a pin stripe suit to match that hat
I'll wait for the spanish version to play it, but it looks really fun!
It's mostly just symbols/directions on the cards.

This definitely would have been a fantastic game if it was 4-player
Fun game
Thanks!
Takes an awful lot from Drako, one of my fav games of all time.
Drako is getting reprinted
Welshy never played, but I number of folks have mentioned it. Will have to try it
