Zee, you are consistently a great pleasure to watch. You have become my absolute favorite person in board game content. I love your humor, and your reviews always feel thoughtful and thorough, without going too long. A+ all day long, dude.
Curious which other games he score 10/10. I know of one other: imperial Settlers: Empires of the North(Which I got and definitely replaced IS for me) This one should be sent out to me. Hopefully very soon.
His list: www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/zunyer?subtype=boardgame&ff=1 Note: He scored it 9 on BGG. So might have changed to 10 after more plays?!
@@janusthede42He might judge game differently for Dice Tower and for BGG...The BGG star's description are mostly personal views, while he might go more with a "designer" perspective for his DT rating
I am not kidding. This is the one that blew me away. And of course you will have games that you like more. It’s not objective. Minis for example don’t turn me on much.
Had the pleasure to help playtest this during design. He nails it in this review. I'm super excited to get the copy I backed as i can not wait to share it with my friends.
The game looks awesome but there is just one small thing that bothers me. Why make the letters on the player roles/characters SO big that they bleed into the image of the person ? Make them a bit smaller and put them a little bit to the right so they are just on the orange part of the board. It drives my OCD crazy !
@@gerardoramirezarredondo2108 Thank you so much for responding! Since I made this comment I was able to get the game and upgraded components. But I had no idea about this new KS. I'm going to get the expansion and the playmat. Thank you again!!!
Nice Nice love it all ready I'm usually not that in to your taste for board games well most of them, but this one defiantly looks awesome and your awesome as well love the way you explain how game works and your reviews excellent job
Zee I respect your reviews. It hurts how different our tastes are because I want to like what you like so I have another excuse to watch your videos. That said, I did pick this one up and can't wait to get it to the table!
Hello! My name is Kaity and I was one of the lead play testers on the Atlantis Rising 2nd Edition. The new version does allow players to make the games easier or harder if they like. There are 5 different difficulty levels outlined in the rule book with instructions on how to set up for the different levels. Some of the fans of the 1st edition of Atlantis Rising enjoyed how difficult the games was and you can still achieve that challenge if desired. In development, the Elf Creek Team worked with the designers to make it so the game could scaled to be more approachable (and fun!) for gamers not looking for quite the crunch. I hope this answers your question! -Kaity AKA The Artificer
I find one thing about this game very tedious. That rolling a die for resources mechanic. It's so lucky. The only way you can mitigate the results are by using those super scarce power pebbles. You know, there should be a consolation. I hate situations in games, where by rolling badly, you get absolutely nothing. YOu feel like your entire turn has been wasted. There should always be a less powerful action available if your dice luck is low.
At least they could redo the rules to scoot the washed away Atlanteans to the Mystic Power Source to get a Mystic Energy per Atlantean as a consolation prize. I might house rule that since I played it that way incorrectly the first few times and still lost. I know that this invalidates one of the Library cards but it's a small price to pay to keep this from entering The Night Cage levels of hopelessness.
Another solid review from Zee. Just sad he did not mention the name of Vincent Dutrait in his final thoughts, as aesthetics does rely mainly on artworks
@@dbungart3044 That makes it a bit confusing then, since it doesn't translate to his 10/10 review for this game. Am I supposed to assuming his BGG ratings of "9" is equivalent to his Gold Seal?
Christofil Anciano it’s very possible he just changed his rating of the game since recording this review. But I can’t imagine he recorded this review more than 2 weeks ago, so it’s surprising it changed to a 9 so quickly.

Rambles a bit much
Bought this based on Zee's review and his recent inclusion in his Top 20 of all time (2020 edition) - Was not disappointed. Thanks again Zee
Very excited to table this after picking it up during the last Nerdz Day sale. Thank you for building up the anticipation!
Brilliant review, Zee. Thank you 😁 I'm away to buy it 🎉

Nice Zee, Already was a backer, so I am heavily looking forward to this unique gaming experience.
BOOM!! I think this is no joke the best game production I've ever seen. Elf Creek Games did an AMAZING job.
You got to be kidding right? There's literally hundreds of games that look better. Althiugh it's hard to argue about aesthetics.

While watching live play I was meh at first but this is quickly becoming high on my wishlist. Can't wait to play
Did you play it? If so how was it?
A friend just introduced me to this game and I’m totally addicted to it now 😅

This is what I hoped to to hear. Excellent!
I have been waiting so so so so long for this game! I am so excited!
I am super excited about this game, and can't wait until my copy shows up!
And just like that I regret not backing this on Kickstarter.
Yup, same here
Same! I just went on there Kickstarter and hit that preorder button. You still can get all the Kickstarter stuff!!!
There will be a new kickstarter with an expansion next month.
It Is actually right now in Kickstarter, base game and expansion, along with the upgrade in the components and playmat

Dis Zee shared his thoughts about the expansion Monstrosities yet ?
This was one of my favorite games I picked up from this years essen, I cant belive it was my absolute last game I picked up as well =)
Mine is on the way right now in the mail

For art , components, overall impression this is my game of the year! Deal with it, Castles of Burgundy!
Burgundy is by far superior
Although these are very different games
At least Burgundy always gives you options after chugging your dice. There's multiple ways to use them.
@@holywarriorbear7720 I was talking about aesthetics of a reprint, nothing else!
Is the theme music the same as the one from Wil Wheaton’s playthrough videos?
This review further confirms my decision to back it on KS.

We played the original twice and got beat bad both times. Does the new version change this?

Get better? Lol it's not the design of the game
Not available in France :/
Guess you should check elsewhere
I didn't have any desire to play the 1st edition, but this looks fun.
Holy mackerel!! 10/10???
I love the way you explained the gamelength with climax being too soon or early. Actual length doesn't bother me, it's those two extremes mentioned

Hey Zee, thank you for the review.
May you honestly answer if that video is 100% sterile from any sponsorship..?
It is NOT. Our reviews are always honest.

We surely all hope so...
Good to hear that from you.

Is there a list of games that Dice Tower gave perfect 10/10 reviews for?
You can look up Zees ratings on BGG... he actually rates this game a 9 and first edition an 8.

Oh wow, 10/10 from Zee, I'm going to have to try this one for sure
9 on his BGG though 😁
Can't wait for rthis to be delivered... Anyone else thinking this could replace Pandemic as Zee's #1 of all time?
Love this game!!!
Fanboi Rising! Nah, it looks real good. Might pick it up if when Coolstuffinc gets it.
10/10, wow!
Roll for resources? I’m out.
Bye
Had to do it ...First! Also, a well-laid out review.
