Prices should not go up on flights when people are being told to flee

Airlines putting up prices to capitalise on people fleeing a crisis should be heavily penalised by the government afterwards. All the extra money they made should be claimed back by the government and used to benefit those who lost their homes. It is appalling that any company would do this in the fact of a crisis like this.

There ARE FREE FLIGHTS too. Canadian military Hercules are leaving every two hours today. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

I see pictures of vehicles crawling along a one lane highway. Open up the oncoming lane so you have 2 lanes evacuating. If you are evacuating, oncoming traffic should be at a halt. Use your heads people. So insane. Open all lanes one direction , out.
Not everyone lives IN THE CITY so that means they were at work and have to rush home to get their stuff and then get out. 2 ways is necessary for that

oh my goodness! I've worked in Yellowknife on contracts, living out of the hotel on the edge. There was a nice little boardwalk around some wet areas I used to stroll after work where I could watch and listen to the birds. I hope everyone gets out safely. I met some wonderful folks when i worked there.
Airlines should not be allowed to raise prices in an emergency. That is appalling to take advantage of people when they may lose everything. SHAME ON THE AIRLINES.☹️🤔😟☹️

What? The fires? NO!! Lightning started these. That's been known from day one!
The problem now is the EXTREME DRYNESS! THAT is the unprecedented bit. Unprecedented because our climate is changing and changing quite fast. TOO FAST for us. Fires are a NORMAL part of there and many many other places in Canada. However, this DRY spring and summer are NOT!
So... WHAT is intentional? I'll tell you what. It is politicians and capitalists NOT LISTENING to the climate science and carrying on as usual. Making money hand-over-fist as the world slowly (NOT so slowly) goes to hell because of our use of fossil fuels.
AND it is NOT JUST CANADA either. The entire world is to blame.

It is the wild animals, livestock and pets I worry about.
We humans have worsened this situation with our greed and short sightedness, but the animals are innocent victims yet are totally forgotten.
At the very least I hope Canadas wildlife department cancels ALL hunting permits for the next 5 years so that indigenous wildlife has a hope of rebuilding.

It is on topic and off continent. In Australia during the height of Covid 19(I am not certain the year) but the ENTIRE Continent of Australia was on fire. It has pine trees and Eucalyptus trees and various other brush that grows mainly where the rain falls. A Koala is born in a tree and never leaves the tree for its entire life. "These feet aren't made for walking" so if its tree caught on fire, the poor little koala burns with it" There is no flight or fight in its repertoire of what to do. The other creatures can get out of the way but not the Koala.
. In Canada, all the animals can move out of the way to a new patch of ground...that is not a problem for them. Forest fires is not new to them genetically. The farm animals will have to be hauled off to another field and simple barn built. They get used to their new surroundings, just like you moving into a new house in a new town. Your habits don't change, just the view has changed. Feet don't get burned as this fire has been burning for a month, just not close to a town. So, animals are already gone...as they can smell smoke way before we can and they split.

Is it just me that find that we didn't have all these mass amount of wildfires before, and during the pandemic but suddenly this year even during spring(wet season) we suddenly have all these wildfires not just in Canada but the US and various parts of the world. It almost seems like something deliberately done. Less trees more tornadoes. Less homes more homeless people and more poor people.
These fires have always occurred, they just get more media coverage now, so it fits the narrative.

I Wonder How These Fires Got Started?
Much of the time it is Lightning in a remote area. Most of the time it fizzles out to a nothing burger.(Because the tree was green and the undergrowth green)
. But, there are times when conditions are right like it starting in a valley of a park that is left to nature to grow as it would normally and the wind is lightly blowing up the valley of dried out pines and bramble and this is a perfect starter. Usually fires like this are not in inhabited areas. so it burns for awhile until the rains come and put it out. Fires are so big a few piddly waterbombers will not put it out. They also need airports to land their plane and refuel. All of a sudden the air traffic controllers are busy...between domestic flights, private flights, & water bombers. Everyone is going to experience a forest fire in their lives someday if trees grow around them. I have been near enough to one to be ousted out of my house(10 years ago)Will not expect that section of forest to go up again in my lifetime(another 25 years)
. I was up in the Yukon and the trees are kind of spindly. Not a lot of rain. So Yellowknife, NWT, Canada has a town (use Google Earth) & Hay River,NWT, Canada is another settlement.

I don't know why they can't make fireguards in the direction the fire is heading towards the town. The also can draw water from Great Slave Lake which is right there to fill water tankers and douse both sides of the fireguard before the fire reaches it. They've had enough warning to carry out such a plan.
They are doing all of that. They've had a few fire break lines over the past few weeks and once a big wind came in, blew right threw them. I also can't understate how huge those breaks have to be. There's definitely been some not great choices by the gov but the people fighting the fires directly are doing everything they can
