Appreciate the shout out!! Learned about some references I had never heard of. I have my eyes on the 2020 Limited edition rising sun! Also the brushed case of the speedy tuesday!
I found and bought the 50th anniversary speedmaster with the black enamel dial after watching your hidden gem episode, it’s one of my absolute favorite watches, just wanted to say a thank you for introducing me to so many amazing watches and they history!
Amazing! that actually might be my favorite Speedmaster but it requires so much explanation into the details it has to have its own episode. You made my day with this comment, thank you.
Great breakdown of these Speedmaster editions, Mark! Your passion for the Omega brand and its rich history really shines through in this video. I particularly enjoyed how you highlighted the story behind the Tintin edition - it's incredible how a watch's narrative can elevate its allure. The Ultraman and Apollo 8 editions also caught my eye with their subtle yet powerful nods to space exploration. Keep up the fantastic work! Javier
Some nice choices. The original off white Speedy though? The Alaska 2! Hard to pick a favourite but somewhere between one of the pandas, the blue and whites like the Gemini IV or the Apollo/Soyuz meteorite dial. I will have changed my mind by tomorrow though…
@@TheWatchSociety very true, I have a wishlist 24 strong! That does include some near-duplicates though - I'd only want one from the Mitsukoshi, Apollo XI 35th Anniversary and Tokyo 2020 pandas for instance.
Would like to hear your opinion on the Omega Calibre 3201 movement used in the Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary and the Omega Museum Collection No.8.Is it problematic movement which requires expensive repairs?Looking forward to your feedback. Thank you.
A vertical clutch, column wheel, co-axial, chronograph movement based on the Piguet 1185 - a movement made for Blancpain and used in Royal Oaks - yeah I am ok with that movement. It is a complicated movement so the possibility of something going wrong is higher than a simple 7750 but any good watchmaker should be able to repair it. It is a high end movement and the right one for a watch that looks that good
They are a nice bit of nostalgia for the original movement, and they are very well made. I wouldn't personally pay the premium for one but they are nice.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the Omega Racend Timer 1949 aka Omega Museum Collection No.8. before buying.Looking forward to your professional feedback.
@@kbtan2373 I think it is a gorgeous watch, most of the museum collection watches are overlooked but are very well done. I like the vintage dual chrono-scales and the dial overall, but those lugs are special. They actually remind me of the A.Lange & Sohne lugs the way they are cut in but have a little more curve to them. I with they would use those lugs more.
Thanks for the review!
Just blew my mind 🤯
Another fantastic video!

Cool list Mark!
My favorite is the Blue Aventurine. Blue side of the Moon. Great video
@@charlesbentley3784 I completely forgot about that one, I only saw it once in person and it is special. Good choice

@@ryanm9554 those are gorgeous, I almost included the 1957 trilogy Speedmaster but didn't know what to cut

Mark this was an awesome, awesome video. I hope you do a hidden gems series here, too 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Hard to pick just 10 favorite speedys!!
Nice list with some cool history:)
much appreciated

So many great options… but my wallet says go for a Teutonic, or gray/orange racing dial or the gray 2020 rising sun.
or, or.... too many to choose sometimes

What are your thoughts regarding the Omega Speedmaster with the 321 movement?
They are a nice bit of nostalgia for the original movement, and they are very well made. I wouldn't personally pay the premium for one but they are nice.
Maybe we have to wait for the Omega Speedmaster Professional with the 321 movement in stainless steel in the near future.
