  • Ecological Australia engaged Wildlife Drones to radio-track Microbats in Australia. As high agile creatures tracking bats on foot in challenging and rugged terrain is nearly impossible. Ecologist and Chief Remote Pilot, Matt Elsley, shares his experience using our technology. Given the rather short signal detection range of handheld antennas of ~200 meters, Matt Elsely highlights the benefit of using a drone and being able to fly the drone in line of sight up to a kilometre or more and survey a really wide area at once. Using the drone and Wildlife Drones' tracking system also enables him to survey difficult terrain like gorges and offshore areas to collect more data without risks and in less time.
A special thank you to Matt Elsley and Ecological Australia!
