I love watching these, I can tell you probably don't turn down the volume much as it adds to the video. Birds chirping, Walking in the snow and the camera shutter really creates the feeling.
me too, I also make this type of video but I live in a big city so its a really different experience , I don't know that someone that lives in this haven make this type of content, that's crazy! big up for Olle!!!
Wildlife photography is probably my biggest passion. I used to go out every single day and often from morning to night. I learned so much from doing so and got some incredible shots that I was so proud of. But due to a lot of factors, I haven't gone out once in probably around 2 years now. Finding a couple of your videos today was really bringing back some memories and after your speech at the end of this video I will definitely be trying to go out as much as I can again. Thank you. You are a genuine and inspiring person
You have no idea how beutiful was to find this video just when I have no way to go outside and enjoy my camera and the forest. I loved every second, it felt as I was right there. Thank you so much.
I thought I had a unique idea for UA-cam videos then I discovered your channel today. Absolutely love it! I've just started my film journey and have learnt a lot from UA-camrs like you.
Thanks Ollie! I really enjoyed that. I am one of those aspiring photographers who can’t get out into nature right now (recovering from surgery and unable to lift the camera or big lens)- so it’s lovely to see it through your pov. Thank you for the nature fix.
Sorry to hear about that but have you thought about micro four thirds? The lens sizes are tiny in comparison to aps-c and ff equivalents, my Oly E-m5iii and Oly 14-150 setup weighs short of 600g and has focal length of 28-300mm.
@@KelpandFern I’ve had shoulder surgery (a complex rotator cuff tendon repair + biceps muscle repair & some bones shaved) so I’m unable to move my left arm away from my body for 6wks- then 6months of physio to slowly build the muscle up again. Thanks for the tip though-a lighter set up was was something I considered. But I’d rather invest the money in better glass for my existing system for when I can get back out and about.
@@boriscareaway5862 thanks! I am back out at it- had a lovely few minutes with a female kingfisher at the weekend, and a trip coming up where I hope to be able to photograph dippers. Thanks for checking in :)
I love this. As a recent fan of wildlife photography, I can feel your frustration when missing the shots!! Those little buggers are definitely a challenge to capture if you’re not fast/stealthy enough. Part of the reason I like shooting predator birds instead, they don’t scare as easy 😂
While I loved every shot, the one in particular at 14:31 took a special spot in my heart. To me this shows the curtains rising. This one whispers "spring". I'm now inspired to wake up early and walk out again, here in Colorado. Thank you!
first of all, great video! see you calling yourself stupid for failing its just not fair, the reason why you fail its because you are human, and that is inevitable, and its the same reason of the success of your work, which is amazing, your way to explain, the places you go and the photography its just amazing. don't be like that with yourself, keep failing its the only way to avoid to fail in the future, you are not stupid, you are an excellent photographer! 👏
With your extra-long lens and dual-hand gripping, it makes your photography feel like hunting! (Everyone loses subjects, I am an amateur and I also lose them constantly. I think the average natural perch-fly-perch rhythm is just barely too short to get the camera trained and focused, but it sometimes feels like maybe they see the camera lens or the focusing laser as one big eye and flee out of instinct.)
Благодарен алгоритмам ютуба что наткнулся на Ваш канал. Смотрю перед сном ваши видео, и спокойно на душе становится. Спасибо. Эх, такой бы зум на смартфон)
Nice video Olle! It's great that you keep some of the shots that you miss in the video. It shows that even photographers like you miss some shots, and it makes for a more realistic and uncut experience.
Im watching this 6 months too late ahah! It's still worth it watching. I want to start in this world but it's way too expensive to have gear like this for me. I hope one day I can have the same gear like you and go out! This video is inspiring for me.
Great video man! POV is so fun and "easy" to make. Go out, grab you action-camera, press record and just shoot. I relate so much to the self-critisism about missing the shots because of stupid mistakes. I'm relatively new to wildlife in general, but I felt every bit of pain watching this. But as you say, that's how it is being a wildlife-photographer! Great video again, Olle! Always looking forward to your uploads! 👏
The good thing about "stupid mistakes".... you can correct them with knowledge and more attention. Still, more often than not, the unexpected situations which you are not prepared for give you the best results if you manage to get them. At least all of my "best shots" were unexpected situations Whats more annoying when it comes to widllife and long focal lengths, which i feel very much since i "downgraded" from Full Frame to APS-C with a Canon RF 800 F11 as main/hiking lens (aka 1280mm!)... finding the birds in the viewfinder. But its so awesome to find a good shot with 1280mm, do some photos and then switch into 4k60 crop video mode for 2000mm which is just incredible long for its small size.
I have to admit something. When I put on my headphones and lay on the couch and watch your video. Then I can easily fall asleep. Understand me correctly. Not because your videos are boring. But all the bird sounds and the sound of your footsteps are so delicious😍 But when I'm not tired or something, I could watch your videos forever. Good work. Keep making POV video in the forest🤩
4:30 I have a trail like that with a wood bridge in my local park and an eagle likes ot hang out there, every time I have seen him hes been flying away.
Want to be careful, not specified if these are RAWS/jpegs or edited, it can help you guage ideal settings for similar environments but experience will teach you more, you can copy the settings exactly and take worse photos.
These are the final photos after editing , (but not a lot of editing, just some color corrections and graduated filters) So yes, the camera settings are only for a little guidance, but as Fewik says - experience is the way to go to learn! :)
I love how you immediately show the pictures you've taken.
I love watching these, I can tell you probably don't turn down the volume much as it adds to the video. Birds chirping, Walking in the snow and the camera shutter really creates the feeling.
So glad you enjoy them!🙌

I am delighted to know I'm not the only wildlife photographer constantly losing subjects

This looks like Vancouver Island!
It’s satisfying. Especially the ambience.

I like how he just INSPECTS the camera at the start, feels like you are going to go Rush B some birds
His every shot is a wallpaper!
Thank you for having a gentle heart.
Thank you❤️ appreciate your comment my friend
I ordered a 100 400 lens and this video makes me sooo excited to try it out in the woods! Beautiful photos!
This video will get like a million views one day
Just one of those I feel like a lot of people will view in one period of time
I thought I had a unique idea for UA-cam videos then I discovered your channel today. Absolutely love it!

I love your videos, Olle! They really relax me, and you have inspired me to start up wildlife photography, as I have wanted to for over a decade.
I’m so glad to hear that Cecilia! Thanks so much!🙌
Good luck on the wildlife photography journey😍
Thanks for your video. I enjoy it. Every day, when I take a walk with my dog, I have my camera with me. And I’m happy , when I get a nice Foto.
Compared to your smartphone photos this is on another level
Thanks Ollie, I'm really enjoyed it

Fun to watch! I haven't done photography in a while so this is inspiring to go out again. I'll be watching more videos.

Thanks for putting the settings for each shot next to it. Really helps as an aspiring photographer to see how others go about their art.
