An autographed grail! Very cool 😎 I am not sure if I have a grail. Just bought the Bob Marley Exodus reissue and this is good enough for me. I do get excited whenever I see Talking Heads records, even if I already have it 😊
Chance.. I am stoked that you tracked this album down ! The first sample reminds me of one original that we wrote and performed back in 2000 in San Diego. Hurt is a very good band, and Ill.listen to some more of their music tomorrow. Right on ! 👍
Congrats on your grail! Not an easy one to find! Great side story! Personal value trumps monetary value every time. Happy for you, Champ! Records like that only increase in value over time. Sound investment.
You freakin FOUND IT !! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼so happy for you buddie! Great story-telling. I see why it matters so much to have it. Looks in great condition 👌🏼 That was me a year ago with SodaStereo Dynamo until finally one came up and had to click the buy button🤑, you know how big of a fan I am😂
Congrats, always feels good to cross a grail off the list. 😎 I have a near complete White Denim vinyl collection, but I'm after a White colored vinyl variant of their first album, Workout Holiday. I have every version, but that one. 😬 That and an RL Led Zep II.. 😅
Congrats man! That’s amazing. Great story and what a great feeling it must be to finally cross this one off the list. I think the only true grail I would really like to find is an RL Led Zeppelin II. They aren’t that common up here in the Great White North. I’d like to find one in the wild but I’m not sure how realistic that is. Here’s hoping though! Cheers buddy. ✌️
Thanks man! That LZII-RL is hard to find, let alone in good condition. I have a feeling you’ll get one sooner than you think (going full optimist mode in ya, haha).
Congrats on crossing off your #1, of course that just means something else moves to that slot lol! Very cool though, always awesome when you get to add something like that to your collection!
Super cool that you knew the guy in the band. Got that grail, which always feels good. Im happy for you. You know mine...or what it was recently that I got. At this point, Im not sure what the next one is?
Chance, killer that was a grail for you. I’m familiar with Hurt because of satellite radio back in the day. I’m pretty sure I was a Sirius guy and not an XM guy. I listened to and loved vol I & II. My fav is probably Falls Apart, but it took me a long time to find Goodbye to the Machine on cd and that was 12 years ago. The CDs aren’t expensive but there isn’t a whole lot of them online either. So cool to see someone in the VC mention this band Much less this album. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 the Zonkman
@@stevebender4546 great to hear from you Zonkman! Yeah, they were a staple on alt rock radio in my market, and I even dated a girl who was a bigger fan than I was 😂. PS, Sirius guy here too! Hope you had a 4th holiday! ✌🏻
That awesome! I have many on my list. One that I would like to find is Stroke 9 - Nasty Little Thoughts. I like that band a lot. The vinyl never comes up for sale.
@ConcertBuddie Happy Father's day to you also. They are actually a California band. I saw them in early 2000s when I was stationed at Fort Bragg. For some reason, I just I always liked them. They never made it big.
You found it!!!! We talked about that record on one of the first collaborations you and I did. Remember, I made wanted poster for it in our video. Awesome pal!
Congrats on the longtime want mate. It's always a great feeling, if only temporary 😄. Wasn't familiar with the band and had to have a look at the Discogs price history. Thats a hell of a price increase after the 5th sold copy. There were certainly some bargains to be had on Discogs when some records first got submitted...not that I ever experienced that luck😅. Hope you're well...Nige
Thanks man! Yeah, those first copies were SUPER reasonable. Not sure why the price jumped so high. Hate I had to pay up, but just means I have to move off/sell some extras in the collection. Ah, the life of a record collector! Talk soon Nige!
@@ConcertBuddie Yep, it's part of the collecting hobby unfortunately mate. But you've got it now and the price you paid was reasonable compared to previous copies 👍
I have now, 1 or 2, that I'm always searching for. Sometimes they are available, but outside my price reality. I have 1 of those 2 on the way from Canada, got it at a bargain compared to what it goes for, sealed. ZZ Top, La Futura. Then Zz Top Antenna is next, almost none ever in the USA, so I know I'd likely never run across it in the wild, unless I am somewhere it was pressed like Brazil, El Salvador etc..
@@ConcertBuddie Yep, and found it in ebay. All the Discogs ones were more expensive. I may have not really saved that much though, considering shipping.
@@ConcertBuddie F**K! You beat me to it... though my thought was that Steve was a poser with that "X" video (being a closeted Debbie Gibson fanboy)... and I was going to say YOU were a Tiffany boy toy back in the day. By the by, two listings under $10 (shipped) on Discogs for the Hurt album.😇
@@Diabolik771 Nice! I saw Samhaim III over the weekend at a shop in Chicago. Super hate to find their stuff in the wild! Thanks for watching some of my videos today! Nice to meet ya 💪🏻
So let’s just say I have never heard or seen that album until a couple of weeks ago ago and I saw it at a garage sale for $5. I did t know the album so I passed on it. We dropped by a Goodwill and strangely enough there it was again, in shrink for $3. I was curious to see it pop in front of me again. Coincidence I guess. Well we drive home and there in the middle of the street is another copy. What the hell is going on. Now someone had run over it so I tossed it in the garbage. Weird. If I would have known you wanted this I would have grabbed both copies for only $8. Oh well, hopefully you didn’t pay much more than that
HAHAHAHAHA. I needed that laugh to start my morning, thanks Steve. PS did you go back and get any of those copies? Could be the true retirement next egg you've been looking for... 🙂
An autographed grail! Very cool 😎
I am not sure if I have a grail. Just bought the Bob Marley Exodus reissue and this is good enough for me.

It’s definitely not easy to find Talking Heads records (old ones). I might be guilty of buying extras. 😁

Or.. one down, 5 to go ! Haha. I love having a big collection 🎵 Summers here !
Great story! Glad you were able to check that one off the want list...congrats! Cool guys.

Woo! Congrats CB on the find and what a cool back story.
Thanks so much! Corny story, I'll admit. But once I found out the record had a wax version....had to track it down. I'm sure you can relate, Buddie 🙂
Congrats, Chance. What a find; autographed too. Would love to have seen your face when you opened the gatefold.
Maybe a smile. Unconfirmed. 🙂
So glad you were able to cross it off.
