    Can you clarify what you mean at 7:35 what happens or what you do if you have less than 20.6 oxygen. I thought that meant it would fail it’s flue performance test? 🤔 thanks!

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  Рік тому +1

      You check if you have 20 .6 outside first

    • @asbestosflake5749
      @asbestosflake5749 Рік тому

      @@tomkatgastraining so if there was 20.5 outside then you are allowed 20.5 minimum at flue test? With a max of 2ppm of CO?

      @tomkatgastraining  Рік тому

      @@asbestosflake5749 no it’s 0.2 % co2 not co

    What about if the flue boxing is smaller than 300mm so you can’t fit the correct size hatch?

    Does it still need access if there isn’t a joint in the void? And what intervals would they need to be? I think you can get a 4m length of flue now from some manufacturers, thanks for the content 👍🏼

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  2 роки тому +2

      You would probably still need a hatch so future engineers could see there are no joints in the flue

    what is the score if the purpose built void is only 250mm square and the flue does not have any joints because it is only a 2mtr straight run to the outside?

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  Рік тому

      No hatches needed if there are no joints in the flue system.

    Keston twin flue system 50mm mpvc does this fall in to flues in voids considering its a welded pipe

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  2 роки тому +1

      Only the air inlet pipe is not covered in the flues in voids so you will still need hatches for the poc pipe

    I have a baxi duotec in a flat where the flue goes into a communal coridoor to the outside. They have put an access panel in and I can check the joint, but it's not correct size. I at risked it last year and the landlord of the building has ignored my notice, and other companies have also reported same issue. I'm due to service again soon, any advise welcome Derek 👍.

      Because you AR and not ID all you can do is keep filling in the warning notice and informing the responsible person.

    Good afternoon, great UA-cam content.
    Always look forward to a new UA-cam upload from Derrick at Tomkat.
    Anyway, I don’t like to go off track, but I would be very grateful if any experienced gas engineer can give me some advice.
    A few years ago when I was gas training, my gas trainer told me that a combi boiler can be installed in zone 2 of a bathroom - only if there is nowhere else in the property to install it (I presume that he meant that’s ok if the boiler is in a purpose built cupboard with RCD, or if the boiler manufacturer gives permission to do so) ?
    Anyhow, I can’t find this info anywhere? Be great if somebody can point me in the correct direction.
    Thanks, N

      If you look in any Worcesters boiler manuals it gives you a great drawing of the bathroom zones you can and cannot install a boiler. Hope that helps
