My husband and I adopted a Boykin Spaniel mix in 2011 ,maybe crossed with a Retriever since she points. She looks just like a Boykin but is bigger,around 45 lbs. Somehow she ended up in a shelter in western New York state! She was around 7 when we got her and now is age 11-12 years old. She is our baby and a total housedog! We have never had a dog that is so totally fixated on humans. She makes eye contact and we can tell exactly what she is trying to tell us. Now we are about to adopt a non-hunting adult Redbone Coonhound from a local shelter to spoil and give her a life of luxury on the sofa also!
