This was interesting and as an American im glad to see something about England instead of America. None of those places look any worse than an American town. I'd still like to visit.
P.S. I'm telling laurence 😂
Yeah for the Americans saying many of these places look idyllic, are they including the very drab looking industrial towns? Not exactly Thomas Kinkade in proration.
All of these places look like beautiful, World Class, cosmopolitan cities...
-residents of Flint, Michigan
I feel bad for Lost In The Pond's Lawrence Brown when I hear bad things about Grimsby.
Whenever I read the word Grimsby I picture Lawrence saying it in that endearing stilted way he talks for his videos 😆
At least he got out lol
😂 I can’t stop laughing at this very proper sounding speaker repeating the phrase “crap town “! It’s hilarious 🤣. Also, the quoted opinions were priceless. Thanks for this!
This crap town is a crap town nearby another crap town on our list of crap towns in England
You guys need to make a video on where to go- a tourists guide to a good time in England. Personally, I enjoy tourist areas but I absolutely love going to places where it’s not so tourist driven. When I travel I wanna experience life as a local.
Phew! My hometown didn't make the list. However, the F'n Leeds joke really made me crack up.
Bradfords a City mate and this was Towns. It will Defo be in crap cities 😂😂
I had to google the Scunthorpe internet thing to find out what he was talking about, and this is what I found.
“The Scunthorpe problem is the unintentional blocking of websites, e-mails, forum posts or search results by a spam filter or search engine because their text contains a string (or substring) of letters that appear to have an obscene or otherwise unacceptable meaning. Names, abbreviations, and technical terms are most often cited as being affected by the issue.”
Interesting. So many questions for that town 😂- who’s doing the “unintentional obviously intentional”blocking? How does one unintentionally block internet sites? 🤔😵💫
Bizarre
For those that don’t know what this means, it’s because Scunthorpe has the word ‘cunt’ in it.
"Smells like weed, McDonald's, KFC"
Welcome to small town Ametica
i love that the comments are either im american and we're better at being shit or im from the uk and yeah, we're shit
It’s not we’re better at being worse Americans are just always overly self deprecating and trying to make others seem better. Also many people in developed places don’t know what actually bad places are like so they can be in an okay place and think it’s terrible because the Wi-Fi isn’t fast enough or the mall is drab. They do that everywhere even places others think is great there are a lot of people probably there that say it sucks.
Elton John has a song called Grimsby. His lyricist Bernie Taupin grew up near there.
Iron Maiden have "Sherriff of Huddersfield" about their manager Rod Smallwood's move to LA.
these videos are some of my favorites y'all create....you guys comments send me rolling. I have to find a video of crap towns here in Florida 🤣🤣🤣 that list will be really long. 😉👍🤣
I was going to say I've never heard anything good about Merthyr Tydfil, only to realize while I was typing it... "Oh, that's definitely in Wales."... NEEEEEVERMIND.
Its crazy that you could almost draw a straight line east to west and hit all these cities and towns
There's actually a Wikipedia page on "The Scunthorpe problem" (Internet) it's weird...
Man. This bashed both Laurence from Lost in the Pond's Grimsby and James from The Beesleys' Rotherham
Always wondered where Beesley was from. His accent is so strong that I have a hard time understanding him.
I believe that's where he has said he's from. His accent is thick indeed, the only other person I've heard from Rotherham had a more generic Northern accent like Laurence
lmao, yep, used to see that same row of shops in Luton :D
Grimsby looks pretty grim to me. 😂
Just did a wake and bake this video is fire
hahahahhahaha Blackpool sounds ...fun!!!!
Haha Blackburn, so true. I lived their for 17 years and my wife is from Blackburn. I have fond memories playing Ice Hockey for the towns team and love many of the people that I met and worked with. Since moving away my wellbeing has improved to the point I feel like I am living the dream. Some great people their but it is a Shit Hole.
Anyone here from Blackburn? Haha and only discrimination I got here was when I was a teenager snd I took this Asian girl to the shisha lounge 🤣
Hounslow, Hackney, Slough, Reading , Luton, Dagenham, Brixton, Stratford, Birmingham, Milton Keynes.
Some southern shi holes for ya.
Blackpool = new jersey
Those storefronts in England suck. Only places with those pull-down gates like that in the US are in dangerous neighborhoods
Speaking of wakefield prison, that would be a good video for you guys to react to. The geographics video
Maybe it's just the architecture or the photos he used but.. None of these look as bad as Reading, Pennsylvania where I grew up.
The buildings look worse, there's trash in every street and the crime is ridiculous.. These look like places I'd visit honestly.
In a lot of western european countries you cant really see poverty and crime rate by the way buildings look. At most it will be a lot of flats.
Lmao damn, I grew up in an area of west detroit and these looked almost identical (the beat up and lined up stores that look abandoned) almost everything except the roads were worse where I lived and the building architecture was different.
Crap towns in the USA: Gary, Indiana; Decatur, IL; Flint, MI; Elizabeth, NJ; Pine Bluff, AR; Chester, PA; Stockton, CA; Jackson, MS; Bessemer, AL; Lubbock, TX. Some of these are strictly my opinion based on my visits to them. Others are objectively bad and are usually mentioned on such lists.
Jackson MS was far worse than I ever imagined. Thankfully we only passed through.
@@NikkiCox81 Agreed. By far, the worst US city I've ever had the misfortune of visiting. I remember thinking to myself, "There's no way the rest of the country realizes this place exists."
@@beverly.alford You should try Gary, IN. It is the saddest place that I've ever seen. My parents are from there and the house that my grandparents owned while they were alive is now the scene of a murder where the victim was buried in the backyard!
Walsall/Birmingham/Wolverhampton should be on the list
good info......now we tourists know to only visit cities in the south.
I have a friend from Blackburn. I guess this explains why she moved to Chicago.
Been to London twice and York once ( i'm from Texas) hoping our next visit will see us in all four countries this time around
I’ve lived in Doncaster all my life and it is rough lol
We have a road in Boston known as Methadone Mile. All the people living on the streets are always strung out.
What road? I used to live in Boston up till 2010.
@@clashfan2875 near Mass Ave and Melena Cass blvd. where the Southend meets Roxbury.
@@BostonBobby1961 That makes perfect sense.
I was born in Luton, it is shit you are 100% bang on
If you think about it enough you’ll see a trend......
Rotherham has the worst child grooming scandal in England ever. Rochdale was awful too. No coincidence though 😅
I live in scunthrorpe and I work at the steel works mentioned, Not the greatest place to live but we have very nice gardens, flowers must like iron ore
As a second note we produce and make steel, there is only one larger plant in the uk and that is port talbort
As a guy from Wiltshire I kept waiting for Swindon to pop up. But yea very Northern bias on the video.
in Wales - Llanelli
such a depressing town, even the charity shops are closed here
I have to say I live in Blackburn and the only good thing I can say at least we are not bottom 🤣🤣🤣
"Smells like Weed, McDonald's, and KFC"
Ah. I see where all the Americans living in the UK go to settle lol. That'd be my first pick to live in based off that. Reminds me of home 😂
😂 This was great 😆😂🤣🤭😅
aren't people from Huddersfield called the "Dog Botherers" ?
I could tell you guys were from the North because you all talk like Sean Bean. Mike looks like he might be his cousin. 🤭
Everywhere has horrible towns. Where I live (New Bedford) in Massachusetts is awful. Some things look nice and historical but it's a depressed area with a big opioid problem. The only reason people don't think it's that bad is that the next city up, Fall River, is even worse. These are all places that were formerly great. We were the Whaling capital of the world, and then after that a big factory town. So when the jobs go away, it becomes crap.
they do take their own police with them at away games
The combination of the "disgruntled reviewer"'s words and the pics would appear to make a positive promotion of night out in Doncaster.
Is Bass Yorkshire in Doncaster a fish restaraunt? It also says the plough on the sign but im not sure what ploughs and bass have to do with each other. Do yall even eat Bass in the UK? this one has me stumped.
Bass used to be a brewery that probably owned that pub, which is called the plough. Bass pubs used to be a lot more common years ago, not so much now.
@@zaqarya Interesting! Thanks for the info my friend!
I'm unfamiliar with each/all of these towns; however, there's something about the early architecture that makes your crap towns far more refined than our (U.S.) shit holes.
I lived in England for 6 years, the majority of English towns are shit holes compared to US towns. There are some that are beautiful though.
On the contrary, all those brick buildings look terrible
It's true, there's plenty of places in the USA that look way worse than any of these. Maybe they just used decent photos, because you come to where I live in Reading, PA and you'll realize these places are not so bad.
That is absolutely not true
Luton is a deffo on that list 👌
Still surprised that Wigan Preston or Chorley didnt get put on these yet.
5.55 wow
The internet thing in Scunthorpe is basically that multiple times internet profanity filters have blocked the word Scunthorpe because it contains a vulgar substring. It can prevent you from creating an account with an address there or using it in a screenname, etc. The phenomenon of this happening with non-vulgar words is named after the town. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scunthorpe_problem
You should do Ameican run down neighborhoods. A real video though that doesn't sugar coat it.
Anything negative about america there will be endless videos on that. It’ll get more coverage than anything else and people will exclusively focus on that and ignore anything not negative typically.
Castleford is a dump :') After living there for 15/16yrs, it's a relief to be living elsewhere. There's nothing good about the place. HMP Wakefield is known as Monster Mansion, with Charles Bronson in 24hr isolation I do believe, but could be wrong
For all the Southerners, how about we start with Slough and Hounslow?
Another one of the youtube reactors that I follow is from Rotherham. But he lives in Jersey now.
Hard to believe that not 1 town around London were names lol.
They should say more about why they're crap. One was boring? Not a good reason. That might mean peace and quiet for some. But internet restrictions are crap! And so is a high crime rate!
So if you're forced to go to England don't get out of London unless you want to experience mid century racial segregation.
commenting before it starts to guess that keighley is on here
I heard Blackpool was a nice area
Why is Northern England so much worse than Southern England?
I imagine Luton is bad because of the British UA-camr, YeaJordie, or something like that. Just watch one of his videos and you will understand why you Blokes are loved!
A lot of cities in the uk look identical
ive been to blackpool. im cdn.
The North seems so dodgy lmao I'm glad I live in the south east.
Come to Australia fellas. Beautiful down here. The beer is better too.
Fosters??? XXXX?? Nah 😂😂
@@officeblokedaz only Americans drink Fosters. We export the product we don't drink it. Have you ever had a Tooheys New? Crimson golden bliss.
@@DestinyAwaits19 I’ve had tooheys 👍🏻. I’ll get down there one day. It’s just so bloody far away 😂😂
I'm still shocked Oldham isn't number 1. that's how crap it is, can't even win on a shit town list 😂😂😂 and there is a perpetual cloud over us
I stayed in Yarmouth for 10days. Didn't choose to vacation there, i was staying with relatives. It was in November so alot of the shops were closed by the pier but it was still night I think.
Honestly every video like this one is always the poor sections, or the towns with high unemployment. 🙄 I live in the US, we've lived in sections where every store is barred at night and the there's bullet proof glass at the checkout counter, its not that bad. If you're full of yourself expect to be brought down a notch or two but if you're a decent person you'll be fine. 🤷♀️
3 crap office blokes. New channel name?
MOT!!! ALAW!!!
Oldham County in Texas and Oldham County in Kentucky aren't that great either.
Glad you said Swindon, was hoping it was gonna be on the list, the place is absolute dump
Why stop at only 10 though? *snicker*
I disagree with blackpool being a crap town that's BS! I loved my time in blackpool, possibly the best holiday I had in England tbh. People are friendly and plenty to do there.
It's a good place to visit because of the pleaseure beach etc but living there is different. Move further into the town and peaple are living rough.
Heddlu is pronounced - heth-lee.
You're welcome.
😀
All this talk about crap towns and Daz never brought up Stoke once lol I'm surprised
It’s a city is Stoke. So knew it wouldn’t be on the list 😂👍🏻
Man there are thousands of towns that look drastically worse than any of these in the US.
These places look like penal colonies
I have to know. Whats the reason(s) you guys wont buy a car from Leeds? It would just be interesting useless knowledge for a Yank.
The common feature is being pro Brexit. These are places that have been in decline since the early 1960s or were always poor. For some reason, people in these towns thought leaving the EU would make a positive difference. We'll see.
Lots of rich areas in East Anglia and Lincolnshire also voted Brexit, a lot more than these deprived Northern Towns, so it's not just poverty that made people vote Brexit.
You call this crap?? you don't know crap, come to Gary ind, it's so bad even the cops tell you not to come here if you value your safety.
london is another with the sharia law present in half the town
Second! Hahaha
I expected worse pictures of those towns but they didnt look all bad. America is way worse
Yeah, this is amatuer level ,they have to come to some town here for the true professional level of crapiness.
I agree some of those towns looked downright picturesque.
Yeah people always say that though if it’s an American thing. Also it’s a radically larger country I mean by oceans so there are going to be more bad towns overall and more chances for really bad towns to crop up. And the buildings in some parts of UK the housing looks worse even new, it has a drab grey Soviet Union vibe.
Also given Americas size it also has a ton of good towns most likely to move to so it balances out some. People also seem to just consider where they are to be worse and anywhere else to seem exotic some so it dampens the negative maybe.
