I love the way this guy listed pubs as an essential service.
It’s hard for an American to tell these are poor areas because so many buildings in England are old…I can’t tell what’s supposed to look rundown and what’s normal.
First sensible comment I've come across 🙌🏽
Southeast and london are the richest regions.
Also far down southwest England is rather wealthy
Usually English reactors don't do British stuff and I'm glad to see it. Have you checked out
Extra History: Policing London? Would love to see your reaction to it.
As an American it's hard to wrap my mind around the fact that many of the coastal towns of England are poor. That's just so different than how it is in the US.
I grew up 2 min from downtown Houston in a rented shotgun style house. The house was like 100 years old, that’s old for Texas/US standards. The back door used an old skeleton key still. These shotgun style houses were modeled after slave quarters. My neighborhood in Houston has since been gentrified but you can still find rough neighborhoods packed with that style of houses in the south.
Edit: word
"I thought everywhere below Birmingham had money" Yeah only London. The rest of the South East/West of England might as well not exist.
These areas still look a lot more appealing than the poor areas I've lived in here in the US. South Miami, New Albany (Louisville, KY), Gary, IN, just to name a few.
Loved the video. I subscribed to the guy.
There no better trust me
@@johnfrench6564 Thats not true
🤦🏽 did you do a walk in tour like seriously how is it possible that you people need this explaining to you
@@jayanthony2414 I’ve been to the UK multiple times. There is no difference in poverty stricken areas between the two countries.
@@johnfrench6564 Yes there is
Yarmouth got badly shelled by German Battlecruisers in WW1. At the time early in the war, Germany tried to raid and lure out part of the overwhelming British fleet to suprise and destroy it. The largest sea battle of the war, Jutland, was a giant attempt. Instead, they ran into Jellicoe’s main battle fleet! It was a close run thing to get back to their main base. After that, the Kaiser ordered his fleet to stay in base!
come on Blokes Liverpool is not that bad! there is some really Posh areas like Woolton, Allerton, Mossley hill, Childwall etc the bad areas are Kirkdale, Old swan, Dingle and Norris green but it's a big city so it's diverse
Unfortunately there are slums in every country
@L M because it’s true
@L M There is, you must not get out much.
If I've learned anything from these videos, it's that I don't want to go to Hartlepool. That place is on every bad list.
Loving this England content!
me 2
Yeah, I was thinking Croydon too, but I'm sure they're factoring wages & those residents are still making way more than those more rural locations. Poverty can be relative and is more standard of living, but perhaps not in the stats
When Daz says a place is really bad, I'm inclined to believe him.
Those areas may be poor but the buildings still look well made and the greenery is well kept. I expected a lot worse.
They are showing you the better parts of it they are worse than that trust me
🤦🏽 well made ffs they're hundreds of years old genius and ffs did you do a walk in tour ffs why is it that you people need this explaining to you
@@jayanthony2414 why u come on UA-cam just to cry
South Kirkby is more towards Doncaster than Wakefield. It's a good 30 minute drive out, depending on traffic
They still look like nice towns
You can't gage what something looks like from some far snapshots mostly of buildings
As you said a few videos ago guys, there are a lot of shithole cities with some nice areas. I live in Stoke, and though I can agree it is mostly a shithole, the town I live in called biddulph isn't too bad! Blurton by the way is a bit rough, but it's great for doing deliveries as I work for amazon, piss easy area to go around so its good for something 😀
Also daz, "moss side" immediately gave me a shithole vibe before you give the hint it was haha. Reminds me of a place near where I live called Sandhole..also a shithole.
It's not worser dan elephant and castle night no bull shit
St. Louis is so bad, I thought it would sneak onto the UK list.
I'm supposed to move there next month for a job, is it really that bad??
@@kingcarlos7048 Are your affairs in order?
Racism and crime are connected because in those cases, certain parts of town (ghettos) are economically starved and almost entirely neglected, leaving crime as an attractive option, that just grows and grows. It’s a big problem here in the states..
Poverty coupled with ignorance is a contributing factor to racism and other hatreds. The less you have and know, the more likely you are to blame another group of people for your situation. This is why education, news media and policy matter.
I'm from Cape Town and I must say I'm surprised not to see parts of Liverpool. We have projects and shanti towns but some parts of Liverpool come pretty close to ours.
Was Mike's mic turned off? I couldn't hear him very well.
Damm I would walk in to a bad situations by looking at these pictures they look so cute and writable
Not sure if it was just me, but it seemed like Mike’s mic was not turned on.
What town is Boris's hair from?
Is it bad that the majority of my geographic knowledge of the UK comes from AC Valhalla?
XD not in my opinion. Can learn useful stuff off games!
I'm surprised Dave said "a dump" and not "a tip" or do I have the reference wrong ?
We say both over here, depends how you feel. Calling some place a tip is typically the same as calling it a dump as well
@@mattybrass ok good.....I thought he was getting to Americanized. I'm all for keeping the differences between us, as it makes it all more interesting !!!
@@miamidolphinsfan I agree mate
@@mattybrass I know the term because years ago they had these two ladies on BBC America on a show called "How clean is your house?" and one said upon 1st entering the house...."it's really just like a tip" and I went and looked it up LOLOLOL
@@miamidolphinsfan haha yeah. We say 'Shithole' a lot too, at least I do. Another way of calling somewhere a tip xD
England's poorest areas looks much better then the Slums in America that's for sure.
Could just be the photos he’s showing. He seems to be showing generic pictures from Google images.
Look up Jaywick even in the US that would be a bad area
They all look better than poor areas in the U.S.
Don't do that
Not Jaywick
Having been born near it I really thought Gosport might have been on here
You’ve got a Cleveland that sucks too!!! 😃
Cleveland is not a bad city at all. You have a world famous symphony there!
@@SE-gs6gd don’t let the downtown pictures fool you. Go 20 mins in any direction and it’s shite. It’s improved I’ll give you that particularly close to downtown area but throughout it’s still pretty awful.
I lived in Cleveland for 4 years. I actually lived in Cleveland heights. There are of course depressed areas but they exist in every city. Overall Cleveland was fine. I was just sick of dealing with the snow
These are the poorest areas you got? Damn.
Why did they get Charlie Kelly to write the script for the video?
If you want to see a really shitty area come to Los Angeles and go downtown and check out the homeless tent city. It is insane how many people are camped out on the streets.
It's not a shitty area the people are just homeless downtown LA is not a deprived or poor area
Just want to say that just because a neighborhood or town is low income doesn’t mean it’s bad.
It usually means that no one cares about them and that community is over looked when it comes time to put money back into an area.
Mike's mic is off?
HOW IS CROYDON NOT ON THE LIST
Lol Croydon won’t be anywhere near this list because the London average wage is so much higher than the rest of the country.
@@longfoot72 london is saving places like croydon peckham and brixton from this list they deserve to be here
@@dre1937 FFS 🤦🏽 no they don't educate yourself they aren't the poorest areas in the country hell I doubt they're even the poorest in London I don't get why its so hard for you guys to comprehend simple shit
Because it doesn't qualify
FFS 🤦🏽 why is it so hard for you people to understand bad area doesn't mean its gonna be one of the poorest and one of the poorest doesn't mean it gonna be a worse area than one that isn't as poor 🤦🏽
The grammar and word choice are Indian. "Some of its areas are not having the complexion reflected by its overall data". I think that this is a software voice-over. I'm not having a go, I've just never met a Brit that talks like this.
They've all been a bit of word salad. Bizarre syntax.
And the images are from Google images…probably just some Indian who found an article online, and tried to make a video from it.
These videos have seemed like word salads to me
Now you're the political office blokes.
How can you be so glib.
👀
Why are americans so desperate to say how bad parts of their cities are lmao?
Take this and add violent gangs and guns and drugs and you have areas in america.
You do realise that you have that in England
