A little bit of heaven on the earth. How beatiful liturgy. Solemn, deeply Christ centered. I want to be an anglo-catholic but in my country is impossible. Greetings from Brazil and happy new 2022.

Superb indeed. The organ prelude 20:16 to the 3rd verse and the 3rd verse itself were extremely powerful, not words often used to describe Silent Night.

The congregation is singing robustly so I’m assuming this is Anglican and not Roman Catholic?

Yes, Croydon Minster is an Anglican church, in the Anglican Diocese of Southwark. Well worth visiting, particularly when a service is going on-- the singing of the choir is always as beautiful as the UA-cam video of the Christmas service shows so well. And, as you say, the congregation also sings well! (I am sure that RC do too!)

@@lewiswhite2249 Many congregations of various denominations make ‘A hideous noise unto the Lord’. Even the choir of St Peters, Rome have been known to hit notes off key. Apart from the evil goings on behind the scenes at the Roman cathedral I where I studied organ, the appallingly unmusical noises the congregation consistently rendered up unto the Lord was a central reason for departing those studies. However, I have to hand it to the Croydon Minster congregation, they at least know which key they’re in.

      ……it’s an hideous…..
It’s also bad manners to criticize the Body of Christ in its many transfiguration’s. The Roman Church is Holy too whether we see or like it. Sun is within us all. “He who is without sin cast the first stone”…..

"Sing to the Lord a New Song", Psalm 96, is one of the Psalms from the Old Testament. It is also know by the Latin for the first phrase "Cantate Domino" (Sing to the Lord
The English tradition is to chant the psalms, but because the verses are all different lengths, this is not easy for the congregation to do, unless the congregation has practised it beforehand.
One of the easy ways to sing a Psalm is for a Cantor, (or a small group) to sing the words of the Psalm, verse by verse, alternating with an "antiphon" sung by the congregation (or in this case by the whole choir).
Before the Psalm starts, the Cantor sings the Antiphon, so that the Congregation can repeat it..
Then the psalm starts, and the Congregation puts in the Antiphon after each verse.
In this case, the Antiphon is "To you is born this day a Saviour who is Christ the Lord.". But if Psalm 96 was being used for a day that was NOT Christmas, then a different Antiphon could be used.
Here are the words with a different Antiphon, and a short prayer.
