I can't believe it! I randomly clicked on a Geoguessr video and in the fifth round the place I spent all my childhood came up. And the fact that you clicked on the exact right spot by chance made it even better. What's the chance of this to happen? Haha incredible. I got really emotional right now seeing all those roads, houses, markets again. Wow amazing. Thank you for your video dude. It made my day. Edit: at 14:07 at the right bottom corner you can see the gentleman we used to buy our milk from. His name is Osman. I noticed him on the second look 😅
Check the trashcans. They usually have the city or the municipality. But try to look for other clues too. In R1, I got baited by a dumpster that said Adana on it.
07:40 as soon as I saw that straight horizon following by poplar trees I knew we are at Thrace. Your balkan comment was spot on xd I grew up there and pretty much everybody were migrants from Bulgaria/ greece. It really shows especially in rural areas since people hand-shape their surroundings. Even the flowers in their gardens.
It was so much fun watching you try to figure out things without Turkish. I think it is time to watch geoguessr videos of Turkey from different countries :D
As a Turk, I think it is difficult to play in Turkey. There are Lots of Small Municipalities in Turkey and Metropolitan Municipalities can help these small municipalities. that's why any garbage or what is written on the bench may belong to the helping municipality, not where you are. Also, as I said, there are many small municipalities in Turkey and there can be similar names in these municipalities. For example, Golbasi. It exists in Ankara as well as in Adıyaman.
As being Turkısh person you are playing this game pretty good also if you are playing this game in turkey the chance that you finding the citys is getting easy because everywhere is covered by signs
Haha, "Büyükşehir Belediyesi" is just the term for municipality area. It's on a lot of signs in Turkey but is not a place. Another one I think is a town sometimes is the Indonesian "Selamat Datang," i.e. "welcome (to our city)..."
At 1:12 it was just saying where you were. lol "TC İmamoğlu Belediyesi" TC = Türkiye Cumhuriyeti (Republic of Turkey) İmamoğlu (place name) Belediyesi (municipality) At 1:30 it says "Çukurova Göz Hastanesi" which means "Çukurova Eye Hospital". Çukurova means the Cilician Plain which includes Mersin, Adana, Western Osmaniye, and Hatay. And at 2:01 it says in the upper left corner "Adana - İmamoğlu". In Turkey smaller towns are usually part of a larger province. So, if usually you will see the name of the province alongside the small towns name at some signs. Edit: Unfortunately Google Maps censors license plates, but otherwise you'd know in which province you were by the license plate's number. License plates starting with a 34 means İstanbul, 35 İzmir, and 06 Ankara. It used to be alphabetical, until the government decided to add some extra provinces going from 67 provinces to 81.
Tip1: Trashcans always tells you about the city or town name. Tip2: If you find a School or Mosque, there will be the name of town and city on it highly possibly. Tip3: If you are in a village and you cant find anything around thats really hard to find the place.
You should do videos in this style for commonly confused country groups; including: Baltic states, Scandinavia, Czechia vs Slovakia, pretty much any combination of Balkan countries, France/UK, UK/Ireland, Iceland/Faroe Islands (+Greenland?), Spain/Portugal, Argentina/Uruguay, US/Canada (bruh), Australia/South Africa, New Zealand/Australia, Indonesia/Malaysia, Thailand/Cambodia, Russia/Ukraine, etc. Besides this, I challenge you to get 25k on the Bangladesh map, haha.
Dude you have seen izmir why do you look at the other words that mean municipality lol well done though loved the video and you should totally come to Turkey ( especially istanbul :))
Thanks for watching! If you like GeoGuessr you've come to the right channel, I post 3 videos a week. Hope you'll join our geography community!
belediye stands for municipilaty, you may read the bins, they generally state the municipilaty's name, sometimes cities', sometimes towns'.

If you can read Turkish you will get a lot of points in a city.
