      @@attilakohbor3360 Honestly, I can't rank him as "best" directly because there are several awesome UA-cam channels that I love. (i.e., Vice Grip Garage, Fab Rats, 8-bit Guy, Adrian's Digital Basement, Chef Jean-Pierre, Project Farm, Wilderness Cooking, etc.) That said, Eric is hands-down the best in his category. Categories are nice, see, because you can make as many categories as you want and stick all your faves in different categories. Back in my day we called them the lazy B. 8 hours of restroom breaks, 1/2 hour of work. Of course that is not all of the Boeing employees, just a few that we had to work with. Sad to see a pioneering aircraft company go down the tubes. They need to re-establish their training programs and filter out the lazy Bs. Eric said it all when he talked about school shop classes vs trade schools. One teaches you social engineering and one shows you how to wrench.

      Those Ford Fusions are really good cars and reasonably reliable. I thought about buying one before getting my Toyota and the car I got had more room. Friend of mine had a Ford Fusion that he drove for thousands of miles and it didn't really give him trouble. IIRC, it was at 250k. He would still be driving it today but got wrecked in a car accident. They do have a problem with the rack and pinion but I guess it's just the luck of the draw if you are going to get a problem car. It was really odd that a bad driver took down the coils. Or was it the coils that took down the driver in the PCM? Either way, it was a really expensive failure.

    • @nopenottalib4366
      @nopenottalib4366 2 місяці тому

      @@lucidbarrier I think it's fair to say that there are a LOT of really good cars by the vast majority of major automakers that are very good and reliable vehicles. That said, almost all of them have some kind of common failure point or another. No engineer anywhere is perfect - they're all just humans like you and me (and everyone else.) People used to love to diss the Ford Escorts back in the day because you couldn't go more than 20 miles and not see one dead on the side of the road. The flipside to that coin though is that those things were CHEAP and Ford sold thousands and thousands of them. As such, it was more the fact that there were so danged many of them than it was that they were unreliable in general.

      Would not worry all brands have some weak part in them best you can do is buy the second or third year of manufacture usually by then they have 99% of the bugs out.

    Grandpa retired from the Vega plant in Flint, MI. Dad only bought Chevrolets. My other Dad liked GMCs. The family has been treated well by the product lines from GM.

      The Vega plant? That car would have been my last Chevy. Every manufacturer has had duds and great cars. I'm not picking on any of them.

      My brother in law was a die hard Chevrolet fan. All the cars and trucks on the farm were Chevys. One year he bought a Ford truck. Now all the vehicles on the farm are Fords.

    NO PROBLEM Eric, I thought something was wrong with my eyes because at the end of the video it appeared that it was out of focus, just keep up the good work since you are inspiring "Joe Schmoes" like me to gain confidence when working on auto's or trucks. Been following you for about 5 years now and NEVER disappointed with the content of you videos.

    Good series. No worries about the lost video watching the blue bars advance across the screen. The best part of the series you already showed, which was the initial diagnostic. FIDO (F it and drive on) as we said in the Army.
