I completely agree. I have sold like 3000 items so far and lost on exactly 2 items, and both losses were under $1. I think it helps that I, by nature, am not a consumer or a shopper - so impulsive buys do not tempt me. I was a lawyer in my past life, and I confronted this business like I did that career. I think too many people combine their shopping addiction with reselling and that does not work. We only need to buy what we KNOW will sell.
this guy is # 1 in the world reseller, i stand by that …i watch a video i make money and i watch another video i make even more money but there is no results unless you act on his advice
I am still learning and have been reselling for less than a year but I struggle finding good items to resell. This year I am getting pickier, but I don’t have connections to buy good items in bulk. I never find Lululemon or a lot of other name brands in any of my thrift stores. I do find Ralph Lauren which I do buy and I am able to travel about 40 miles to thrift. I am really trying to make this work because I do enjoy it. It is so hard to remember name brands when I get to the thrift store. I grab and then go off and look up. I keep trying so thank you for sharing!
I don’t have the opportunity to drive far or to buy in bulk, or invest hundreds of dollars. At least not yet. But I found my way by learning from UA-cam from different resellers with different business models. That’s how I learned that I can do my best by going to this one thrift store and looking thru every single item. There’s a lot of resellers at that store but they are in and out in 20 min, where I’m there 5-6hr once a week. They all passed $1 skirt that I sold for over $400. This skirt didn’t scream nothing special, it was only because I was curious. I used to think that I’m looser if I don’t come early to be the first at the door, but I found my way. This model will probably not work for every location tho. This store is just pretty consistent with getting new inventory and they not greedy.
Man! I feel like you were directly speaking to me. I so needed to hear this. Trying to pivot to clothing only from an everything store and feel like I completely screwed up in January, buying things I "thought" would sell, but ending up with a lot of low end dead wood. I am going to double down and make February my best month ever! Thank you for kicking me in the butt! I needed it!
This is such a comprehensive masterclass in sourcing product and is basically what a high end Antique store would do as displaying all sorts in your store diminishes the value of the more sort after items so they only buy highly curated items that they know sells thus increasing the return in investment .. I guess it’s a change in buying mindset that’s needed it’s made me think anyway as I work my way through my items I have to list. Thank you 🙏
I agree with what your saying about picking up the best items, however I sell used parts on eBay and sometimes I am the first one to bring that part to the market by going on a hunch that someone out there is looking for it. 25% of the parts I sell have no sold comps or none listed.
Awesome Video. Thank you for the wisdom. I'm super happy to see resellers actually helping & teaching other resellers. Priceless. Thank you very much. From Iowa.
Thank you for all your advice bro. The last quarter i got my 90 day from $10,000 up to $16,000! When i get out of debt I will be joining the patreon. You rock dude
I really needed to hear this. I am sometimes the person looking for the best thing in the $1 bin. NO MORE. I already started leaving behind anything that requires too much research time because I found myself wasting too much time researching items that I was not familiar with. I have been saying to myself, "too much research" and putting the item back. Now I will also be saying to myself "not enough profit" and put it back.
Don't know weather to laugh or cry. Cry because that is how I thrifted..Laughing because this is so stupid simple!! What the heck was I thinking!! Many times "its cute, I'll try it" WHAT!!!??? That seems so stupid now. Never again Tech. Everything I have is wasting my time, reworking, relisting, tweaking. Nope not tweaking any more. going to the thrift tomorrow and practice "no thank you, not for me". If there is nothing there then off to the next one and next one. Maybe only find a couple of items, instead of bringing home 50-60 items of no profit, BUT I'll still have money in my pocket until those couple of items sell and I can do it again! I get it!! This hit home BIG TIME!!
Good Podcast! This is a real struggle for me: hoarder syndrome. I needed to hear this, so I can learn to walk away. Clothes are more than plentiful, after all.
The Y2K category is going to be saturated by the end of Summer. Forever21 and other fast fashion sellers are going to offer competitive prices and more consistent quality and sizes to the market that is interested in wearing that style - and as that satiates the buyer pool, they will spend less on items. Plan accordingly
????Tech, have you ever tried the burger at The Whiskey in Orlando? A little expensive but go hungry. It is a big burger. I get the Caesar salad instead of fries. Best burger and best Caesar in my book. Thank you for all you share.
2025 is the year that I’m going to get my eBay to explode! Already crushing it thanks to your advice and becoming extremely picky sourcing and putting miles on the car to get the good stuff
We must be self-disciplined enough to buy only the best items that fully meet our metrics and we must leave the rest behind. Even if they are still technically profitable.
I call it the broken price. If this item falls and breaks or I find out it’s defective can I still sell it and make money or get at least what I paid for it. I’m always trying to pay the broken price. Example: purchased an iPhone works great. Only worked with wireless charging. Instead of making $80 profit I made $10 with the damaged charging port.
Not all thrift stores are the same mine dosn’t like ppl looking on their phone for items apparently they get in the way !! It’s a small shop but with good bargains..
Tech, this one really hit home for me today. I recently completely flipped my mindset when sourcing to look for the best items instead of for the lowest price and I found bangers over $100 to $200 profit items each day that paid for everything else I bought so I am not looking back. Been in the group 1 month and already got more in positivity and motivation that I would have paid way more for, so Thank You!

Only the good ones!
The #1 problem in reselling is over paying for mediocre items. Avoid that and you're ahead of the curve.
But if you do, make sure to take all day to craft the perfect listing to make sure it sells.
Profit and sell through rate have to align

what brand was the skirt?
The person with the most knowledge wins

Appreciate that! Glad it was helpful!
I have 7 days of listings scheduled ahead...that allows me to have better patience when sourcing. I'm not in a "Rush" to get items.
This is a good tip!

Of course. You have to make your own market on some items. Knowing how/if there will be a market only comes withe experience.
Awesome Video. Thank you for the wisdom. I'm super happy to see resellers actually helping & teaching other resellers. Priceless. Thank you very much. From Iowa.

eBay has been slow in the UK this month, a lot of UA-camrs are down on 12 months ago.
A lot of people in the group from UK are having nice months
The GOAT!!!
What's up Varley!!

Got to get in and get out of most markets
True. Mate, I don't even take it if it's for free if it's not going to fit the metrics.
I won't take bad items for free either
You rock!!!!!!
You do!! Appreciate you checking out the podcast!!
I think you are super cool.
And super generous
This makes so much sense
Thank you
I have made mistakes.
I like to hear the truth
Hope the info is helpful! Thank you!

2025 is the year that I’m going to get my eBay to explode! Already crushing it thanks to your advice and becoming extremely picky sourcing and putting miles on the car to get the good stuff
That's great Jeremy!! Keep crushing it!!
I just found a 1991 “Gunz & Roses” Hoodie
Nice!
Thank you! ✌️
Likewise, thank you!
We must be self-disciplined enough to buy only the best items that fully meet our metrics and we must leave the rest behind. Even if they are still technically profitable.
Agreed!
I have a lot of gamble products , should I take those items of my eBay page or just ad good products to my site
Every time one of those sells, replace it with a better item
I call it the broken price. If this item falls and breaks or I find out it’s defective can I still sell it and make money or get at least what I paid for it. I’m always trying to pay the broken price. Example: purchased an iPhone works great. Only worked with wireless charging. Instead of making $80 profit I made $10 with the damaged charging port.
I agree. I used to sell a lot of electronics and always made sure to buy at a price I could turn a profit on even if it was broken
Not all thrift stores are the same mine dosn’t like ppl looking on their phone for items apparently they get in the way !! It’s a small shop but with good bargains..
Got to front load the research
@@technsports I have only just started watching your great videos.. do you mean go in knowing what to look for ?
Have you used the Q&A feature on the listing description?
Not too much personally. You?
I have becoming more selective on what I buy. However top tiered items are hard to come by here.
Keep searching, keep only selecting the good ones!
Lets go!
Appreciate you checking out the podcast!!
Is there anybody in your group reselling full time from Ireland?
