The fact that you allow people like me to rummage through your thought process is incredibly generous. Your work is inspirational and chic at the same time. Thanks for sharing your art!!!
@oceanpoet1 Thanks! I use Yes Paste to glue down most of my papers (plastic surfaces don't work well for this glue, however). I use clear silicone, the stuff that comes in the caulking tubes at hardware stores, to glue down the bottles and most all all objects.
I love to watch you make your assemblages and appreciate that you take the time to make these videos. I have lots of ideas now on how to use my cigar boxes. Thanks, Greg, see you on LMM.
I have pictures of where those ships went from in Rotterdam, it was called Hotel America, its still there, it was cool to see you have a sticker like that..

@LisaPatencio Lisa, sometimes I do...I have a small rotary sander (using sandpaper) that does an easy grinding/smoothing if I have some raw/ragged edges that are going to be exposed, but for the most part, it's not a concern...I just glue the glass in place.
Greg I absolutely love your work! It's fantastic and inspired me to take up collage~ Please keep making beautiful, quirky, other-worldly art- you inspire me!
@calgalhg I hate to admit it, but I don't really have a very good plan for organizing "papers," etc. I keep favorites in plastic tubs and boxes....I pull them out for projects, grabbing at this and that, but eventually I find that I have to go back and do a total reorganization of everything and start from fresh. It's kinda' good to do that because I rediscover stuff that I had completely forgotten about. It's basically the same thing for the "objects" that I use in my boxes.
@CAP953 I guess I do both, but I tend to do a bit more planning for those spaces ahead of time since I have to cut wooden dividers, etc. and make everything fit.
Ok Greg, you would have to work really hard to create something that I did not love. Quirky I would say ...to me that means beautiful. I am still working on ideas for my first assembledges....and have encountered the depth issue. Thanks for the tips.
I love to see what you are working on ! When you are designing a piece do you divide the box and then find something to fit in or do you generally have an idea what you'll be putting in and then put in the separators? It's always intriguing to see how the pieces evolve as you are working. You are a great inspiration. You find the neatest stuff to use.

just love your work. what kind of adhesive do you use for the papers. they always looks so smooth. i think i might have asked this once before. one more question. what kind of glue do you use on the bottles
from one assemblage artist to another.....how do you organize your vintage papers? i'm going through my studio and trying to make things easier to find but i'm not sure how to organize my paper. right now i cut what i want out of books and keep it all in a clear plastic container. kind of a pain to go through it all when your looking for that picture of a butterfly you remember cutting out a while back. any tips would be appreciated:) btw, i love your work!
I build a little "rail" all the way around in side the box...I put the silicone on this rail and set the glass on top of it. I then construct thing paper strips to cover over the edges of the glass. I have some other videos that show this.
I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to tell you that you really inspire me!

one more question. what kind of glue do you use on the bottles
@juriaan13 I was able to fix the back with hanging hardware without covering up that old sticker.
@prettypoetry Kinda' like letting you into my head!! Glad you enjoy...thanks!
Hi. Love your work. What glue do you have good luck with gluing the dictionary pages to boxes ??

I love your work.
Wow...many thanks...glad to hear there is some inspiration here!
@krissytehpink Good luck...nice rusty containers like this are difficult to find sometimes.

@judysheart Thank you so much, Judy!!
Love your work Greg You make it look so easy ♥ xo
What do you use to hold the glass in place? Glue, caulk?
Hi, love your work Greg. How do you attach the glass cover without seeing the silicone.
