Hi Laura. When the project becomes a slog, I do feel good about ripping it out. I can then start something else on the list . I have that typewriter fabric!
That fancy fox quilt is gorgeous :D good job!
Great to catch up with u ,,Laura!!!
Have alot on the go!!!too many socks,,,and 4 shawls,,,,plus 2 hats and actually started my first sweater,,the flax!!!!
Loving it!!!
I don't rip much out ,,,would find that hard to do!!!

I used to have a very hard time ripping projects out and ended up with about 15 unfinished projects that just made me miserable to look at. I sat down and made myself RIP them all out. My BF actually helped me by winding up the yarn. Since then I have had minimal issues ripping something apart that is not working. I've found that I am finishing projecter faster now that I gave myself permission to start over or change my mind.
I think it's great to let go of those things that aren't working, and so so nice your bf helped you manage all the yarn barf. It took quite a while to rip out the stonecrop and deal with all the yarn
Your bags are amazing, love the one I have.
Thank you so much!
Hi. I think we have been going through the same journey moving from being a process knitter to becoming a product knitter. I find it really liberating to pull my projects out when I feel they are not working x
Yes that's a great way of putting it! It's all part of the evolution we go through as crafters
Good call on frogging the stone crop Laura. If you know you’re not going to wear it, use the wool for something that brings you joy.
Thanks for sharing! I thoroughly enjoy following you and look forward to your podcasts. 😀 Re: Frogging - I don't hate it, but I also don't love it. If I make a mistake, I almost always frog back and fix it because I'm never able to fully enjoy a finished object if I see a mistake in it every time I look at it. If it's not noticeable or won't be noticeable after blocking, then I let it go.
That main color yarn would look great as the contrast color in a sweater
Hi Laura. I really like your quilt, it is so cute.
Thank you! 😊
Hello! I love your pink velvet sweater, such beautiful colors! So, Most of the time I don’t mind frogging a project that I’m not happy with because if I don’t love it I prob won’t use/wear it. I just went through all my wips for Finish It February & frogged a few things & started working on a couple. I plan on doing it every year. Have a great week! 😊Christina
Love your beautiful sweater!♥️♥️
Thank you!!
Sometimes I find it really hard to frog. It's usually when I have put in a lot of hours. Also it depends how off I think the project is. I lately frogged a cardigan whole body. There was nothing wrong with it per se, but I knew I would prefer the yarn as a pullover more. That took a few weeks to make the decision and take it out. If a project is very off it's not too hard. 🐸
I don’t like when I have to frog especially when I’ve devoted a lot of time into it…it really hurts. Love your podcast and all you share!
Because I can reuse the yarn in something else, I rarely have regrets about frogging. I do often knit something half way and then think “This isn’t the yarn for this project” and then find the right thing for it. And Hello to Sammy!
I totally agree!
HiLaura, what a nice prize! Lucky winner. Such great fabrics, I wonder do you go out into the woods for morals, as my friends back yard was full of them as she disturbed the soil last year, with her ash pile, and I found one in my yard, but curious are they out in the woods like chanties and hedgehogs. I guess I will just go out, since this past fall was the worst mushroom year ever! Take care, Melissa.
Yep there were lots of morels on the island this spring! I think we had good conditions for it. I found enough to dehydrate some to use later:)
I do find it hard to frog a project when I really think I want the finished product but eventually come around to telling myself “it’s not the right time, not the right yarn etc” and I’ll frog it but it’s always hanging in the back of my head. I’ve gone through a period of where I just cast on numerous things and now I’m trying to work through some of those before starting something new however the Cozy Classic Raglan has been calling to me. Have a great 2 weeks.
I feel like we're in the same situation - figuring out current wips and prioritising. frogging that sweater was definitely the right decision for me!
I don't like to have to frog my knitting but if I do I find it very freeing. Because then I have the yarn to use again or have the chance to make the same item again.
I usually end up finishing and blocking a project before realizing what needs to change😖🙄
I have done this too. Many times! lol
HI! Would you consider going into more details on how you do increases for the calf? I'm relatively new to sock knitting and found it surprising that most patterns are a straight tube...which my leg is not, lol. You mentioned how you often incorporate it into your it in another sockast ( I forgot which one) and I would love to learn more! Thanks!
I will definitely go into this again - as I have thicker calves and need those increases on taller socks!
I have a very hard time ripping out a project immediately after having spent hours and hours working on it but if I put it away and go back to it later it’s like giving birth and I forget about the pain and it’s much easier to frog. Lol
Hahaha awesome way to put it!
Hi Laura. I just sent you a message on Ravelry.
Video quality is much better! I prefer it when you do less editing. Ummms don't bother me.
