Interview conducted by Norman Harris of Norman’s Rare Guitars, filmed by his daughter Sarah. Behind the scenes of the filming, at Richie’s house. September 03, 2020.
I think Richie is soulful, when he talks about his music he's sincere & authentic, you see it. His guitar playing is stellar & lyrically he's so poetic. When Aftermath of the Lowdown came out I was caring for a very sick husband & trying to get my child through college knowing I would be doing it all on my own very soon but when I had a moment I would listen to this cd, it helped me cry & release so much of what I was holding in, it made me smile & feel good also. Now its 2021, I'm widowed, daughter married & I still listen & love this music even more. RS is brilliant, hes authentic, hes talented as hell & we need more of his music. I hope to hear it soon. Now in my 60 's I am in a much happier place today & back to being my free spirit self, this record has taken on a new meaning now that I'm on the other side of things but I will never forget what his music did for me back then. I am a forever fan of Richie Sambora & his musical magic!!
Melodic....smooth....soulful & poetic...RS, we need more music from you, the world is a better place when it's peppered with all that grit, honey & authenticity!!
Sambora and Eric Clapton had a large part in my life to become a guitar player, I have both with idols, never stop Sambora, we need you. Hugs from all fans in Brazil and the world. Make a beautiful song, like all you have done and move us back, the world is in need of good music, we are in need of your voice and your guitar. God be with you.
Great to see Richie... This man entertained my ears for many many years! I haven't bought any BonJovi music since he left the band! He was the main engine.
Why does he not get to relax people and just be himself. I absolutly find this interview one of my top favorites.i cant wait for his new album last i read was march 24 or 26, 2024!!! 😊
Hmmm... Thank you. It seems like it is. I couldn't think about Wanted Dead Or Alive, because I love it sooooooo much, so I can only listen to it only the way it was played in New Jersey.
Pritchard he primarily plays jazz he originally started out with Buddy rich you was really good at the guitar I don't know if you've ever heard of him and I'm from the state of Wisconsin with Les Paul to our Fame
All the people taking a dig and saying Richie is drunk clearly non of you know the guy and on top of that clearly don’t know that he and David Bryan were the wild ones in the band Bon Jovi both are eccentrics yeah Richie had alcohol problems in the past but for his daughter and what happened with heather he cleaned himself up he is just is an eccentric character and loud most early interviews shows that bounce studio interviews show he is loud and eccentric Jon was always considered the shy guy of the group clearly hardly any of you know this band well enough if you did not know that anyways peace out also richies guitar playing still remains top class and unlike Jon he still got his voice and many would say his voice was always better than JBJ if Jon was not the pretty boy he was he would never have got that far Eddie van halen even said what JBJ is like as a person and so did Sebastian Bach I would trust people who have known Jon not the act he put on when in front of camera.
My first thoughts when I saw this video was richie looks very frail, not healthy looking. He’s my all time favorite guitarist. When he left Bon Jovi that was the best move he could have made. Without Richie Bon Jovi is a no name band. I agree also. Richie could out do jon in the vocal dept any day. If u listened to Jon’s demos before he became famous it was horrible. Richies parents lived in point pleasant Nj not far from me. Jon is just about the money and fame. Richie was and is about the love of music and his fans. Richie when u come back to Nj u better hit the tiki bar and perform once again. Don’t forget us in Nj even though this state sucks. Lol.
I’d say so. Couldn’t really hold a conversation and very easily distracted, mumbled words and took ages to set up the amp. Looks like he was about to pull the lead out of the guitar whilst it was still on full volume before just as the video was cut
People really saying Richie is drunk just because he acts the way he does that’s just his personality he as always been a loud one watch the interviews but at end of day this guy is way better than what Bon Jovi is today but I dont believe he is drunk I think he is actually at his best in life think about his daughter graduating that’s a pretty good sign he cleaned up his act for family etc
Careful Richie man. Any new riffs you play will be open for viewing by Jon and he might just have his phil x cronie figure out how to play it, and make it to a song for him. Because Jon is a thief, a cheat, a liar, and certainly does not deserve you brother! Keep rocking though man, sounds really good!

His first solo album is an incredible work of art! One of my favorite albums all!!
Totally agree!!
absolutely my brotha. i've always said if the album got the radio play time like Bonjovi orJourney,
it would have gone to the top.
Long live Richie!
Time flies so fast.
Wow man!! I would work 24 hours a day for a year only to learn a couple of songs with you... You're rather than awesome God bless you Mr bluesman
Richie is a legend ,love him
Yep, we all miss the real Richie Sambora ...

Great seeing Richie again. The most underrated guitarist in music.
Agree 100-% 2nd is Doug Aldrich and 3rd is JinJoo most underrated
That les paul oh my!!!
C'mon why do you think he's underrated? One of the biggest guitarist stars ever. Everyone adores him, absolutely not underrated.
I thought Steve Stevens is the one the most underrated guitarist I bet there must more of them
@@b.i.g.brothersinguitars249 Good point. Steve Stevens is a superb guitarist.

Amen, there's bon jovi without him
Main engine?...nope
So great to see Sambora again, wonderful wonderful
More and more please do not disappear❤️❤️❤️❤️
Richie was a HUGE part of what made Bon Jovi a success. Amazing creativity

fantastic richie
Love you sambora
I personally think he's the best guitarist ever.
He was at least... The Stuff he did in the 90s inspires me 'til today
Muy grande Sambora! 💖
Gosh I love Richie! He is the best guitarist in my books. He is so awsome. Wish I could play with him.
All Songs Bon Jovi So Faster Veterans Rock Star Legendary Thanks Sir Richie All Years Partner All Above Song Bon Jovi Thanks My Idol
Love how he looks. I love Richie.
He can still play good. Love seeing him do good.
Really love hearing him talk.
4:35 That's Badass! reminds the old times.
O yeah!
I just wanna know what year the black Strat is on the Bed of Roses video? Does anyone know? Still the coolest intro on a video ever 👍
Think it’s a 92 part of his Fender collection
I wish I knew is a custom strat of his or just a 92 American strat standard
El mejor guitarrista nadie como él el mejor en vivo Richie no es repetitivo por eso es el mejor y bon jovi sin él no es bon Jovi
Richie in shorts is weird. Never seen him like that lol
Haha exactly my thoughts 😅
Love Richies shorts. Relaxed and layed back. Looks really good. Im proud for him. Have loved and had a crush on him too most of my life.
Nice shoes muy friend!
Dude was buttered just like he was back in 2013 when he dipped out on band!!
richie anni 80'
He deserves the Bon Jovi's lead guitarist, not other.
One Decimal Place considering he just tried and failed to play lay your hands on me and wanted dead or alive... it ain’t happening soon.
Rock against Racism!🤘🏻
Could someone help me to find the name of the song that Richie plays at 6:18? Thank you!
Isn’t that Dead or Alive?

What does he mumble after he says jon would come to see “richie sambora and friends”?
I have an Epiphone FT-130 that looks real similar to that Martin in the beginning.🤘
Great guitar player! Would like to see another solo record similar to Stranger in this Town killer record Richie!!!
One of the best guitar albums ever made.
@@mikegregory3293 hell yeah it was
I agree.
Ótimo guitarrista o melhor do mundo

Richie, stop losing weight, otherwise all your beauty will dissolve!
Drugs...alcohol
@@goodearssrock6902 Have you seen how he does it? He is still the most beautiful and most talented musician.
We do miss sambora in bon jovi. But he needs to be sober man.

Brilliant guitarist, but useless roadie. Love this man
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger 🍔 today
Is Sambora drunk? He talks very unclear, mumbling a bit etc
Sadly it looks that way too often these days. So heartbreaking.
I saw that too... the sound of guitar was terrible and confuse,
And playng While Norman was trying to talk.
Very são.

Norm is only there for one reason to sale sale sale as many as he can of his new Gibsons stock guitars to pure drunk Richie.
