Gday everyone and welcome back to another video.
Ive had a ton of people requesting that i make another fishing challenge video. And thats exactly what i did today. I hope you all enjoy this petrol station lure challenge:)

Reel - Shimano Vanford 2500
Lures - Neptune Tackle super shad
Line - 8lb power pro ( colour white )
Leader - 8lb FC Rock

That’s soooooo true
Sometimes it's the lure that has less action that gets them to bite. Tight wiggle vs wide wobble, rattle vs silent. Good to have one of both sometimes.

When i fished a lot i waa only buying kmart lures cuaght heaps of flathead bream whiting bass perch
Kmart use to sell halco lures $5cheaper than tackle shops kmart doesnt sell em anymoye they are bream killers cant cast far with em

Sure is🤣 I caught my first big flathead on a suga pen, so I have a little suga pen on my key ring. And I caught my pb flatty on a double clutch. The lures were 120mm and 95mm. So I’m obviously not going to put that on my keyring because they are big! So I put smaller version of them

That dodgy rack at the service station has saved a few fishing trips for me when I have forgotten something. Quality is always horrible but the fish don’t seem to care much.

Great job with less than ideal tackle. Tried Neptune surf rigs, they where terrible with dropped fish and the knots actually coming un-done.
Yeah the hooks were super bad so it wouldn’t surprise me if there other gear is crappy as well😂

Hahah yeah it would be close. That would be a cool video to do🤣 but Kmart is closed at the moment due to covid :(

You deserve a lot more followers Josh. I once brought $5 dollar lure at Anaconda and absolutely brained the bass so you can be lucky.

Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Give try to zman mini chatterbait for breams. We use them for crappie here in the USA.
Now listen little mate. there's an old saying that sound's like this. Some people are made of it and some people are full of it. It's your choice. Here fishy fishy my dizzy aunt.
Impressive work there, well done. It's amazing what cheap nasty lures can do. I've got flathead on trout lures from Kmart 😁.

Yeah sometimes the cheapest lures just get the job done. And I’m based on the south coast of nsw🤙🏼

Pretty good lure for a petrol station. What lures do you recommend for flatty?
I recommend 3 inch zman minnows. They work a treat in the flat fellas. That 3 inch size resembles a little baitfish perfectly👌🏼

The trevally where I live in gold cost they look different an we have gt of big eye of blue fin trevally

Haha that would be hilarious. As good as they worked, by the end of the day I had used every lure just because of how much the hooks bent and plastics broke🤣

That pretty much sums up a petrol station soft plastic 😂 plastic molded in on the hole, unsharp hooks, no tail movement and weak hooks

Hey Josh great video. Just wondering what difference you find between the Zodiac rod and the T curve.
Quality. It’s a lot higher quality carbon fibre. It’s lighter in the hand and had a much more sensitive rod tip. Also is a much more enjoyable rod to fish with. Don’t get me wrong I loveeee my zodias. But the t-curve is a big step up👍🏼

I actually had very good results on the red master pro whiting rigs from BP for salmon in the surf. 5 bucks cheaper than a reedyz and I've been throwing them with massive star sinkers as hard as I can, Never had the 15lb "leader" snap yet. caught 8 in the 40cm range on the same rig last weekend and lost a bunch of them while struggling to land in the heavy surf.

I was going too but when I got to the counter the guy said the rod and reel was $50. And I was like there’s no way I’m spending $50 on a rod and reel for one video. I’ll be getting a budget rod and reel from Kmart as soon as they open again. And will be filming a vid on that. They are closed due to covid :(
