- Gday everyone and welcome back. In todays video i decided to head out in the kayak to chase bream on topwater. Im not gonna spoil anything but it was an absolute cracker of a day out!

Josh, once again you have shown us your video skills….this was sensational. What I like about your videos is that they are instructional, informative and fun. I am not sure what programs you run to produce your videos but they are of high quality and put a lot of so called “professionals” to shame…..this one definitely did not leave you with “egg on your face”….LOL!

Love the 25min format! Your storytelling skills are going from strength to strength with that opening section. Great that you leave in all the bits and pieces from the day; like the jetty, headaches, lunch, mentally resetting.

Lol enjoyed this video mate , even had the wild life fooled when birds are trying to capture it , bents are popular now even make my own now and any size I want , micro lures are another one for bream and bass fishoes go to . If you haven’t tried it I recommend having a go at making your own hand crafted lures then catch fish on them , very rewarding.. 👍 Awesome video .

Hi Josh love your videos they are very entertaining. If you are ever short on video ideas I would love to take you out in the kayak on saint georges basin to target some big flattys and bream. I live in basin view and now the area very well.Thanks mate

If you replace the middle treble with an assist hook on your bent minnow it will increase your hook up rate and it won't affect the action of your bent minnow.

For flathead i recommend.Squidgies pro ranger prawns in brown colour, they work heaps good 🤙
Yeah I’ve heard the squidgies work well. They have been a very popular lure ever since the beginning of soft plastics💯

Assist hooks vs tebbles.
See if you can improve that landing rate.
Yeah I feel like if I had assist hooks it would og made a massive difference with hookups. But I’ve talked to some people and they say it really doesn’t make a difference🤷

Mate here's an opportunity for you to do some #science for the fishing community.
A lot of these species particularly ones with smaller mouths like bream n whiting don't try to gobble the lure trebbles n all but rather they just smash into the bait to stop them moving.
That's why you're getting all these hits but often missing the hook-ups.
I often run 2 set of stingers instead of a rear trebble. 1 size 8 and 1 size 10. Shouldn't affect the action but will effect the hook-up rate.
what combo were you using at the start of the video that cought the 40cm bream? and what line lb and types do you run usually for light fishing? just subbed liked and hit that bell mate,such and underrated channel
I was using a 2-5lb shimano zodias rod, 2500 Shimano vanford reel, 8lb braid and 6lb leader👍🏼 cheers for subbing mate

Yea they sure will. I’ve caught that size flathead on 5 inch plastics. But I think the best size for eating size flathead is the 3 inch zman minnowz👍🏼

Yeah I’ve never had to much success with them. But I’ve recently been doing really well on hard bodies for bream. So I gave it another go and it definitely didn’t disappoint

Amazing. Unlike any lure ever. It darts under water and on the surface and looks just like a sick fish. It cost a fair amount of $. But we’ll worth it

We used to have 14 chickens. But as you can imagine that got a bit hectic with suppling them with food and some got sick. So we decided to get rid of a couple and just have 4. Nothing like fresh eggs as well👌🏼
