    Useful stuff. I'm doing this job at the moment (or will be, once the new valve springs arrive).

    Thanks, I found TDC and valves to be a bit of a challenge first time. Also, cute cat!

      Thanks Jeff! Look forward to watching your videos on the KMZ! There is one for sale near me, but… no $$ to fix it up. classifieds.ksl.com/listing/64358686

      @@Uraljunkie Ho, they can be money pits these Dneprs, no matter what condition you buy one in, you will still spend shit loads of money trying to sort / getting them right.

    Allen i put a dab of bright paint/nail polish about 2 inches before the tdc timing mark on the flywheel. gives a heads up that the mark is coming soon.

      Thanks , much appreciated , I was a bit apprehensive about checking the valve clearances myself , but it doesn’t look too hard.
      I was thinking that top dead centre has to be exact and was hard to find etc.
      Thanks.

      I used to think the same thing - had to be exactly at top dead center. The reality is that just both valves need to be closed and that’s it. A lot of slack for adjusting valves. Good luck - it’s easy peasy.

    Nice work Alan. How often can the Silicon rocker cover gasket be reused?

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  3 роки тому +2

      Good question, Harry. I think I saw where they could be reused five or six times. I’ll keep using them until they leak. As long as you wash them and clean the mating surface on the heads, they should keep working for a very long time. They are too new to the market to have any definitive data on that.

    Good day and thank you for your videos which are great!!
    I have a question regarding the possibility of adjusting the idle of the engine on a 2014 GU fuel injected Ural. My idle is very low and I think I could have a few rpm during the warm up

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 роки тому

      He Bernard! Thanks for watching.
      The idle on the throttle bodies are very easy to adjust. There is a little screw at the bottom of each of them. The screw goes into the throttle body and stops the butterfly valves from closing all the way. If you turn the screw in (clockwise looking at it from underneath), it will raise the idle. A tiny bit makes a big difference. It can be done with your fingers with no need for a screwdriver. Make sure you adjust each side the same. This should work, since I have done it on my 2018 which has the same throttle bodies as yours.
      Let me know of any questions.
      Thanks gain for watching and commenting!
