    I am late to the party but I am so glad I came across this ambient example. So many demos focus on bass. This thing can do so much more. Beautiful textures. My Neutron will be under the Christmas tree. With appreciation.

    I have two neutrons sharing a Eurorack with a K1, and a second rack with a Cat, Model D, and Wasp.The patch bay on the side makes the neutron so much easier to use, without cables crossing over knobs like every other model except the little Moogs.

    It was the last thing I saw before going to sleep. I didnt feel quite good before sleeping. I had not a nice dream. I was paralized in bed but in another place. I saw shadows moving around but I was unable to see them clearly. I was talking to them, but they dont communicate with me. They are always busy. After a while I could get free from the experience. I woke up and I realized that I am at my parents home. My heartbeat is a bit fast and have a headache..but it is not a usual one....it is a different sensation. I grabbed my phone and unlocked it, youtube popped up and was your video still on the screen....so I replayed it again....great music. Now I am trying to remember what I saw there listening to your music.I am going to try to save some money to buy one of this...the soundscape is definitely awesome. 🛸

    I have absolutely no experience or knowledge of synths, but recently have been playing with modular synthesizers in VR (anyone out there with a VR headset should try 'Synth-VR',. From beginner to pro, your mind will be blown).
    *This* is the video that led to my decision to buy this same setup, and start getting serious about the synth, as ^this is exactly the sort of music I want to investigate.
    I so wish there was a more detailed tutorial on this, and the whole field of ambient synthesising with the Neutron. I am sure that when my kit arrives, I will be able to figure it out from the patch... but I am hungry for more.
    I have of course subscribed to this channel.

    What a wonderful demo!! I forgot what I was watching while driving to work.. I bought a model D about 7 months ago as my first synth, then a deepmind 12 about one month ago. Some of these tones remind me of "The Narrow Way", David Gilmour's signature contribution to the 1969 Pink Floyd album Ummagumma. I've actually heard rumors that he used a Moog mono-synth on that. I think coupled with my Yamaha MX61 with all the nice acoustic sounds I could do some interesting shtuff.

    • @SnigFargle
      @SnigFargle  4 місяці тому +1

      Neutron is controlled via MIDI from a Keystep keyboard, seen in the video. Mono output from the Neutron is sent to Strymon Big Sky left input. Big Sky stereo outs connected to Behringer mixer. Mixer output sent to powered JBL monitors, and also to audio in on the video recorder. Hope that helps.

    • @SnigFargle
      @SnigFargle  6 років тому

      Hi Federico. You'll need a midi keyboard to play the Neutron: I use an Arturia Keystep Pro, which is quite nice. For a first synth that has a keyboard built in, for creating soundscapes, I think a Novation Ultranova or Mininova might be a better choice, as they have effects built in, which I'd say you probably will want. Hope this helps :-)

      +Wayne Beeston Thanks ... it's a Strymon BigSky.

    Dude, I love this. So, you can make slow moving pads on the neutron? Or I mean long attacks? Drones? Again this is amazing.

    • @SnigFargle
      @SnigFargle  5 років тому

      Yes, you can ... a good external reverb unit helps :-)

    Holy crap! Awesome video! I’ve had my neutron for about 3 months and I can’t figure out how to get what you’re doing here. Is there any way to get that patch settings? Thank you for your time!

      I'll try to recreate it and will post the details if I'm successful :-) Thanks for the kind words.

      The settings can be seen in this photo: photos.app.goo.gl/h1XfyaDRd5LQVHwq5 ... the patch cords are LFO out to S&H In, and S&H Out to Delay Time In.

    I have 3 neutrons. I have been trying to replicate this sound in each one using the link to the patch library, but I'm unable to get anything similar. This one sound amazing. Mine sound repetitive and boring, totally different.

      Are you using a reverb unit in addition to the Neutron?

    • @mrommadawn
      @mrommadawn 3 роки тому +1

      @@SnigFargle yeah, I tried tried with a long plate and a "particle reverb" from a zoom ms70, which BTW is an amazing reverb that is similar to a shimmer, but adding space. It has 3 different modes. I love that extra long reverb, but anyway, I didn't get anything close to your video😔

      I'm assuming the "cloud" reverb is stereo, so you go from neutron to big sky, and the left and right to the mixer?
      Thanks for your reply, by the way

    • @SnigFargle
      @SnigFargle  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, mono in from the Neutron to the BigSky, which produces stereo out. I like the Particle on the MS-70, but it's not the same as the BigSkyCloud. The best emulation of that is the FXAid Eurorack module (which does everything).

    Nice demo. The sound coming out of this synth is monophonic not stereo, right?

    • @SnigFargle
      @SnigFargle  6 років тому +1

      Yes, mono.

      @@SnigFargle Does this synth have a pan function creating a stereo effect, or is that a function of Strymon Big Sky reverb? Thanks.

    • @SnigFargle
      @SnigFargle  6 років тому +1

      That's the BigSky creating the stereo.

    Neutron π a subatomic particle of about the same mass as a proton but without an electric charge, present in all atomic nuclei except those of ordinary hydrogen. €

      @@rtplayer3543 Man you can say that again. I control mine with my Korg DSS-1. Love pitch bending the notes, and using the joystick to modulate the oscillator and filter!
