It's amazing that this is the only logical video on shipping oversized trading cards, and efficiently at that. I've always drawn myself to just bite the first-class bullet on some unorthodox cards like these for instance but after 3000+ sales and feedback with 100% positive I'm realizing that the "You need to put cardboard and you need to do this and that, etc. rhetoric" is a little too oversimplified. Great video, I was wondering what shipping envelopes would work. awesome.
I know some sellers use the penny sleeves and then use a jumbo top loader for those types of cards. However, i dont know if a card with the sleeve and top loader will fit in those envelopes
I looked into the top loaders and they are pretty expensive. Most of the cards I ship are around the $5 range and the cheapest top loader I've found for the jumbo cards is around .75 each. I would't be opposed if it was a more valuable jumbo, but for the cheaper ones I've just been kind of "risking it" a bit. I do appreciate your input though, regardless!
Sun and Moon is my favorite pokemon animated series and Bewear is one of my favorites! We have just started selling cards on Ebay and really appreciate all your videos! They are so helpful. If we ever sell our larger cards we will for sure be doing it this way! I'm a little confused on the Ebay standard envelope prices though. I've heard you say .60c per standard envelope but whenever we print the lables it is $1.06. Are we doing something wrong? And if you send by stamps do you still have to pay the standard envelope price as well as additional stamps? Thanks again for all the helpful videos and info!
Hi April! Great questions! The .60 rate is for orders that weigh 1oz or less. If it's charing you more than that, it's likely because the weight is set to 2 or 3 ounces. Sorry for the confusion on stamps vs. standard envelope. It's one or the other that you would choose. I always recommend sending standard envelope because you get tracking. But you would either do that, or if you went the stamp route, you would just select "mark as shipped" on the eBay shipping page and that will let the buyer know that you shipped it. However, no tracking will be available so the buyer can just claim they never received it and you'll be forced to refund them. Keep the questions coming as you have them :)
don't falsefy saying you need 2 oz service for 1.02 oz. you need it for 1.5oz-2.49oz. Usps rounds to nearest whole number so if its 0.51 oz it rounds up to 1 but if its 1.23 it rounds down to 1.
It seems very hit or miss on this. Sometimes I take them in and the lady wants an extra ounce stamp. Other times they go right through. I'm sure it's a situation where they don't check every piece of mail, but just do spot checks. If it's close, I always just add an extra ounce stamp, which is only .24 compared to having to add a full price stamp.
You could use two regular stamps, but it would cost you more. The ounce stamps are cheaper so if you plan on doing this frequently, it would make financial sense to buy some ounce stamps to have on hand. But if it's just every once in awhile, two regular stamps would be just fine.
@@soldbyronnie awesome thank you for the fast response and really helpful video. Been trying to figure out the best way to ship these for awhile now. Will look into picking up some 1 ounce stamps, thank you again!
Please don’t use normal, clear scotch tape. EVER. Painters tape with a buddy tab!! Doesn’t leave residue and clear scotch leaves tacky residue behind and tears into tiny little pieces bc of the teeth that cut the tape. Us buyers hate nothing more than seeing that type of tape ever being used.
I agree with you. The photo sleeves for jumbo cards is the only thing I use scotch tape on because painter's tape just doesn't stick to those sleeves unfortunately.
I am trying to find those cheaper stamps but I’m always scared they’re fakes. I ship about 200 envelopes a week with TCGPlayer so it’s expensive to pay retail. Do you have a trusted seller? TIA
I've only purchased stamps once, so I don't have anyone to recommend as that seller only had the one roll they were selling. Your money is always covered if you do wind up getting a fake and I would try and buy someone that is a top-rated seller. That level of seller will do everything in their power to make sure you are happy and have the track record to prove it. However, I just looked and I wound up buying from the seller at this link. Good price and people have already given positive feedback for the same item stating they are authentic. www.ebay.com/itm/385583434970?hash=item59c6904cda%3Ag%3AgJsAAOSwcUpkTNEY&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwOY6fAi1sGmc1H1tmNs8CujaDxtu2p%2F2L2Hv5%2Fyo1WeiejrT7ViMPHcwo2COQ4H2e7GjXGwremllWGUhkv38Lq3gNw5rQpm0BOjGmN9VMqG6uSiP25AvTFKSJHYyy1L00jYmfhltb6fb8dlcvUQwSRoKDGVV3g%2FE5ap6QZHOGgDayuaKAJtCVpyHRQPHs65U2Y8Cjxovqa0Y9E275LGek1BbvMWIV3ef0Wd%2FP4VLseSa68lnTjC3ESpJGJI9Jmnrtg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR8q74o_7YQ&LH_BIN=1
Thanks for this video I am going to start listing my jumbo card duplicates. As far as the the "Discount" stamps from ebay those tend to be fake stamps that is why you are able to get them half off. Just a PSA for you.
I was worried about that as well, but I've had good luck so far. eBay would protect me in the event that they are counterfeit as well, so I would feel confident buying them again from a reputable seller personally. Thanks for watching and for the comment :)
This is false information. People invest in forever stamps every year since it’s guaranteed that the price goes up every year. That’s why you will often find older years when you buy cheaper bulk stamps
Very helpful. Thanks Ronnie!
I had no idea that one of those cardboard envelopes would work with the eBay standard envelope shipping. Thanks for the info!
You are very welcome! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a thank you :)
This will be a really helpful video for me! Thank you 😊

Appreciate this info! Have a bunch of jumbo cards I need to sell and don't want to spend $4 shipping each one so this will help a lot!
Awesome I’m happy to help!
Can you share the link for the oversized sleeves and envelope again? Thanks! Great video
Link is in the video description

@@Thecaliforniaelevatorchannel false. Even .01 above a whole ounce gets rounded up.

Good information, I did however just get one shipped back to me and it said 0.40 surcharge. 😢 but have shipped many just fine

Those BCW 5x7 Photo Sleeves are too small for jumbo pomemon cards BTW. I just got mine and they are too small. Had to ship it back. Need 6x8.
They fit current gen and sword and shield but not the sun and moon era
Have jumbo cards increased in size? Because all of mine are larger than 5x7
The sun and moon jumbos were larger than the sword and shield and scarlet and violet cards.
