I have the S2 Pro. It has the 500W motor as well. It is a lot of fun! Mine has solid tires so no flats but it is bumpy...you have to learn to avoid the large bumps when possible! I'm well over 60 but I rode a bicycle before I got this.
Thanks for this review! I'm looking into this scooter for a commute to work, but it's about 15 miles one way and I live in a hilly area. Looks like this scooter will do what I need it to do and then some. Can't wait to order mine in a couple days
Their big mistake was no odometer ! I have e mailed them countless times BUT engineers failed on this one. If you want bragging rights on reliability ? Show your mileage. Ninebot max has proven this. Their G2 needs work though. Hiboy to date in my experience has been quite good in customer service. Actually better than most brands. Odometer should be next on their agenda.
I've never really thought about how many electric scooters that I've ridden don't have odometers. You're right though, an odometer would be a great addition to their scooters
Thank you, I'm glad that my review helped! Cars are so insane nowadays, I'm just stoked that there's scooters are so capable nowadays and have this type of range for the money. Once you get the scooter, please let me know how your son likes it!
I’ll let you know how he likes it for sure! What sold me was the side lighting, headlight, and decent looking shocks. We’re out in Missouri and the roads aren’t the best. And we don’t have the awesome bike lanes everywhere like you guys do in SoCal. Thanks again.
Nice, looks like a great e-scooter choice, wish my m365 pro could get that range! Please wear a helmet though for future tests, I've seen scooter crashes IRL (as well as plenty online) and the chance of hitting your head is immense due to how you are positioned and flipping over the handlebars, stay safe!
11:40 You were disciplined for so long, it would have been neat to see what you would have eked out had you stayed in "drive." 2 miles more, 4 miles more? I guess we'll never know. I do really like the speed steps they chose and think they were very logically set up. 16mph on a scooter in this class is a really nice long range speed. Enough that you're not totally bored but slow enough to get a great result from a 720Wh battery. Well done!
I got my max pro a week ago and I might get about 18miles out of it, 15 of which are between %100 and %80 battery then the battery start’s dropping off super fast I’ll be at %60 and 1 minute later I’ll be at %10 until I turn it off and back on and it will show %55 as an example
That’s super weird. I have to say that the first half of the battery does last longer than the second, but it almost sounds like it needs a firmware update. I would definitely reach out to Hiboy if it persists. Are you using the Sport mode? I noticed that they Sport mode eats the battery life much faster.
Thank you for going all the way to test the range of the scooter. Everything else in every scooter is rather self-evident: size, wheels, brakes but the range is highly individual and similar sized batteries will yield different results. Plus the range claimed by the manufacturer is ONE thing you know for sure is always too optimistic and I'm peeved by lazy reviewers who'll just repeat the manufacturer's figures knowing full well they're hardly ever reproducible. I wonder if you can get hold of Inmotion S1F. That's another really long-range scooter (claimed almost 60 miles) only slightly more expensive than the Hiboy Max.
Thank you, I appreciate the comment! I checked out the Inmotion and that would be fun to test that scooter out. I will see if I can get a hold of one; if I can you can guarantee that I will be doing a range test on it :)
Did you notice any odd noises when breaking hard at high speed? I'm getting a little bit of squealing at full brake strength when trying to come to a quick stop.
Hey fellow San Diegan! When it comes to locking it, I recommend the scooter locks that look almost like handcuffs on Amazon. They’re super heavy duty and somewhat affordable. My biggest recommendation is to hide an AirTag on the scooter, so even if someone steals the scooter you can still track it. Thanks for the question and I hope you enjoy the Max Pro as much as I’m enjoying mine!
Yeah, I would still recommend it after 5 months of use. I haven't had any problems with mine and it still rides great. I just looked and they also are on sale right now for $750 and I can't think of another scooter with this type of range and power for that type of money. Thanks for the question!

Awesome! I got my Hiboy Max Pro last night! Took it for a quick ride (without charging), and it was a BLAST! Can you link to the official hiboy app (android)? I have no idea which one is the manufacturer's app.
You can link the official Hiboy app. I made an overview video (link in the description), where I go over the basic features of the app and I show what it looks like. Thanks for the question and I'm glad that you like your MAX Pro!

The scooter handled hills very well. Hiboy says that max climbing angle is 20 degrees and I hit some hills on the ride that were easily 15 degrees. and it did slow down slightly, but not much; and that was in the middle Drive mode. I'm pretty confident that as long as you're lighter than me (190lbs) you could cruise up hills under 20 degrees with ease. Thanks for the question!

@@bubblemagic8664 So I just did a hill test with my daughter and I on the scooter (we weigh about 240 combined) and up a hill about a 15 percent grade I was able to go up at about 13-14 mph on Sport mode. Hope this helps. If you don’t think it’s powerful enough I recommend a 800w electric scooter. You can probably find another brand around the same price with more power, but the range will probably be at least 10 miles less
i just bought this scooter. On the 11 inch tire it says max pressure is 35 psi.. What tire pressure do you recommend to get the best shock absorber effect from the max pro.
That's a great question. I just left it at the 35psi that it came with. I would think that around 25-30psi would be the sweet spot between having extra cushion while still being stiff enough to have low rolling resistance.
The tires are pretty thick. They aren't puncture-proof, but I wouldn't worry about them getting punctured. But if you wanted extra protection then you could always add Slime Tube Sealant. Thanks for the question!
The Kukirin G2 Max is a really nice scooter. I think it all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing since the MAX Pro is designed more for the road and the G2 Max is more towards off-road. If it were my money, and since the G2 Max has a great sale going on right now, I'm leaning towards the Kukirin G2 Max.
hiboy have better tire size , g2 max biger battery ,hiboy better breaks from maintenance point of view vs g2 max from strenght point of view deck size similar performance g2 max marginally better ,both have suspension , g2 max is 5 kg heavier hard choice for me it is battle between tires and battery 👌🏻 biger tires give less energy consume but probably not enough for compensate 240 wh diffrenc in battery size 720 vs 960 wh at 11 vs 10 inch tire it be depend of type of rideing in some one can take advantage 👌🏻but its not only this biger tire give better confort overall on worse road however g2 max have slightly better suspension what compensaty partly smaller tires so yea hard choice 👌🏻

It's a good question. I reached out to Niu to get a KQi3 Max to test buy they wouldn't send due to new products being launched in the coming months. Niu scooters are pretty nice, so I think you'd be happy regardless. They're so close that I kind of think it's a toss up and I would buy whichever you think looks cooler.
@@flameblaze2777 It's a really tough decision. I will give you my 2 cents and try to keep my bias at a minimum (since I have ridden the Hiboy and not the Niu). The Niu does have advantages as well: lighter weight, better app, higher top speed, better warranty, and a sleeker design.
