@@mazzonimosaics8222 I’m so excited!! My plant stakes came today!! Yiippeee! My husband tried flattening one, but it still has a bend. How do you get it flat? Thank you!!
Julie it was an absolutely delight watching this video. Having been out in the blazing sun attending to some documentation, I was totally zapped out. However your butterflies n sunflowers have a refreshing effect 😍
Why did you choose silacon over thinset for the stepping stone. I know you had to use it for the mirror, but why on the stained glass portion? Do you have a supplier for your beads? I use beads, but not these kind as they can be costly. Just wondered if you could share where you buy them. And all your work is lovely. It’s wonderful that you take the time to share with everyone your process for mosaics.
I like to use it for stained glass. Thinset is my other option, and I sometimes go that route. I like going to bead shows. I don’t buy enough beads to get them at wholesale prices.
I absolutely love your videos! I have a question. Did you say in one of your videos that you can’t use Weldbond next to uncured apoxi sculp? Something about adhesive interaction?
@@mazzonimosaics8222 I wish I knew this before... All my mirror pieces in my mosaic got messed up. To make it worst it is a outdoor mosaic. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge/ reply 🙏🥰
There is a sealant you can use to prevent the mirror backing from de-silvering, but I have found it to be quite a hassle as all edges need an application. It is much easier to just use silicone. And it might be most effective if you make sure there is complete coverage on the back.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰...Zillion thanks. 💐💝...I got discouraged in using mirror for my mosaic after they got messed up but now I'm so glad that I'm going to be able to use them again. Mirror pieces looks so beautiful in mosaic.
Gorgeous as usual! Regarding your sunflower bead section, I only have loose beads and I know all the sunflowers that you've made that I've seen are on a string and you pull the string through, which I've done also. I wonder have you ever just used loose beads in the Apoxie sculpt in the middle like that? How is that for you? I hate wasting my beads, but I wonder how you think it works? Your help and videos are so inspirational! Thank you! Safe travels.
100% OK to use loose beads. I do all the time, especially when the beads escape the strand they are on! There is a time constraint with Apoxie though, so only mix as much as you can handle in about 90 minutes.
Hermosos trabajos. Me podrás decir con que pegas las piezas a la malla, las plumas del águila? Con eso mismo pegaste las dos partes del girasol (sunflower)? Saludos y gracias desde Argentina ❤
Can't wait to see the butterfly grouted. Gorgeous sunflower stake. Thanks Julie.
Thanks for watching, Donna! I love the sunflower too and can't wait to make more! 🌻🌻🌻
Love the quick demo on equipment maintenance. I did not know that. Super designs and beautiful and imaginative work. So fun to watch. Thank you.
Lol. When I was done moving the wheels I should have oiled the handles since they were so squeaky!
Another fantastic sunflower and stepping stone!! 💖🎶
Thank you! I hope to finish up the sunflower and get both grouted this week!
Oh my goodness...your stepping stone is GORGEOUS!! Thank you for my Monday Morning Mazzoni Mosaic fix! Always a joy. 🎨
Thanks so much Dawn! I love making stepping stones! This one will go in a shop and then if it doesn't sell, it goes in my garden!!!
Love your butterfly - always excited to watch your videos
Thank you!
I in love with your butterfly and your sun flower , she’s great. ❤️❤️
Thanks so much! Cheers!
Both finished pieces are really gorgeous, especially the butterfly. Always waiting for your videos. Thank you.
Lol. Neither one is really finished! Need to add the petals to one side of the sunflower this week and get them both grouted!
Hola que pasta usa para pegar? Esa masa blanca que es? Agradezco su respuesta muy lindos sus trabajos. 👌
Your work is so fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Cindy! I'll see you soon!
Love the flower plant stake!! I’m going to try to make one, you are such an inspiration! Beautiful work as always, Julie!
Go for it! It all started when I just wanted to save the extra thinset! 🌻🌻🌻
@@mazzonimosaics8222 I’m so excited!! My plant stakes came today!! Yiippeee! My husband tried flattening one, but it still has a bend. How do you get it flat? Thank you!!
I used a wrench to grasp it and the floor for leverage.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 we’ll get that a try! Thank you!

Rupa, the weather here has been amazing! Lots of days with a high around 81 or so. It will be hot soon though!
Here in India and specially the city where I live, it's super hot above100 !!!!

Thank you for another great demo! Can apoxy sculpt last outside?
Thank you, and yes!
@@mazzonimosaics8222 another question, can you grout on top of apoxy sculpt?
Yes.
I absolutely love your videos! I have a question. Did you say in one of your videos that you can’t use Weldbond next to uncured apoxi sculp? Something about adhesive interaction?
I don't think I said that. It only takes a couple hours for the Apoxie to set up though, so not a big deal to wait.
So beautiful ❗ 😍❤️. Does the silicon prevent the back of the mirror from disolving
❓
Yes. It is neutral cure and waterproof.

Thanks for watching, Silvana! I used Laticrete 254 Platinum as the adhesive for the St. John mosaic and the sunflower petals.
Have you done dragonflies in any of your mosaics?
I put some on my fountain. I also made a stepping stone with one. And I made one in this video: ua-cam.com/video/WXFKlcHWeeo/v-deo.html
I made a red dragonfly commission here: ua-cam.com/video/N46xM97bK-0/v-deo.html
Thanks for getting back to me. The dragonflies are beautiful!!! How long have you been doing this type of work?
I made my first mosaic in the fall of 2009.
