I've always had a special place in my grim dark heart for the Iron Hands. I think part of it is because I always felt that Ferrus Manus is a lot more badass and awesome than people give him credit for. I just wish GW would give us more quality Iron Hands stories with more impact on the setting.
Hope once the Heresy is over besides the Scouring they also start fleshing out other ages including the Unification Wars and more of the Great Crusade that should give the Iron Hands and Ferrus Manus plenty of chances to show why they were so well-regarded.

One of my favourite Deathwatch games (the roleplay not the tactical version) involved the interplay between my Salamander and the Iron Hand member of the group..... We came close to killing each other many times off the battlefield, but my Salamander knew that on the battlefield the Iron Hand would have his back, and vice versa.....
There were many an occasion when I would get back onto the dropship and the rest of the squad would look at my Salamander, and the gaggle of terrified refugee's, sigh, and mutter about Ddraig collecting more strays....
Sue me, I am Welsh, of COURSE I am going to name my Salamander character Ddraig (Dragon)!

Hey, it's better than naming your son with the Iron Hands, "Iron Hands" and putting him in charge of a Legion called the "Iron Hands."
Imagine being so braindead as to tell to the Catachan (as you're fleeing like a coward instead of doing your job of protecting the Imperium) that they aren't strong enough when all your muscles come from a test tube, or to the Raven Guard that their intel is useless.
If Ferrus returned, he'd make Perturabo's meeting with his legion during the Great Crusade seem like a wholesome family moment. And the Imperium wouldn't lose anything of value.

Warhammer has some of the most well thought out story lines which keep on developing even after 40 years.

If you take the Iron Hands fandom and relate it to the lack of Lore, then equalize it to that metric with other Legions, the Iron Hands would be 40k's most popular Legion.

4 months later, i have read the Eye of Medusa and the Voice of Mars. These are not only my first 40k books, but my first books in years. I liked them both despite the obviously flaws, and was actually saddened that Strono's story ended there without further continuation in novel form. I really identify with the Iron Hands. That cold, controlled logic with, characterized by Rauth and Stronos, a rage buried underneath is just me. It made me realize this within myself as my own core weakness. I love them as a Chapter, and i need more of them.

Are there any ogryn stories that are worth reading/listening to? The few short stories I have listen to kinda sound like a documentary on abused kindergarteners with disabilities. ‘This ogryn was good at following orders and that made him happy’ ‘The ogryn peels potatoes and that makes him happy’ ‘the ogryn doesn’t like the dark because that’s when nightmares come, that makes him angry’

Something just occurred to me. Ferrus Mannus was from Medusa. Ferrus Mannus had his head cut off. In Greek mythology, Medusa had her head cut off!

Hey, guy, thanks for even bothering with noting that you'd remembered how damned long it is that I've been hanging out around here... heh.
Yeah, I've actually been fully retired for, heck, quite a damned good many years now... I'd retired at 40, and I am well into 46 now. I only state that fact as it was THAT happy day that began me really starting to utilize UA-cam much more often than ever before.
But, I mean, nine hells... I am honestly just always hearing your name getting thrown around out there... out on most all of the other 40K Narrators & Lore Master's channels, and quite often, at that, man... Facts. So, there certainly ain't nobody out there that's forgotten about ya in this scene, not at all.
You have unquestionably done something really memorable and worthy of note; especially so, what with your excellent character vocals from all of the contributions to narration!
It is just a total standout amongst all of the various tonal qualities and levels of skill involved in doing this thing, man... and that's out of ALL these other narrators that I have been listening to over these many years, my friend.
That unique quality of tone is probably your best X-factor/"golden ticket" aspect, out of your 40K content, specifically... at least, it is in my own, not so humble, opinion, anyhow... LoL.
Your name is already set into the known annuals of this Warhammer/UA-cam scene, man... and that's just an incredible accomplishment.
